Although there are many kinds of fracture tests to choose from in evaluating the crack resistance of asphalt mixture,the semi-circular bending(SCB)test has attracted a lot of attention in the academic road engineering community because of its simplicity,stability,and flexibility in testing and *** SCB test has become a common method to study the cracking resistance of asphalt mixture in recent *** paper mainly summarizes the overview of the SCB test,summarizes some research results and common characterization parameters of the SCB test method in monotone test and fatigue test in recent years,and predicts and suggests the research direction of the SCB test in the *** is found that the research on the monotonic SCB test is more comprehensive,and the research on the SCB fatigue test needs to be further improved in the aspects of loading mode,characterization parameter selection,and so *** can flexibly adjust the geometric dimensions and the test parameters of semi-cylindrical specimens,and conduct comprehensive analysis combined with the results of numerical *** crack resistance of asphalt mixture can be comprehensively evaluated by fracture energy,fracture toughness,stiffness,flexibility index and other fracture indicators,combined with the crack propagation of the *** analysis of numerical simulation can confirm the test *** order to standardize the setting of fatigue parameters for future application,it is necessary to standardize the setting of bending performance.

CMNER: A Chinese Multimodal NER Dataset based on Social Media

Multimodal Named Entity Recognition (MNER) is a pivotal task designed to extract named entities from text with the support of pertinent images. Nonetheless, a notable paucity of data for Chinese MNER has considerably impeded the progress of this natural language processing task within the Chinese domain. Consequently, in this study, we compile a Chinese Multimodal NER dataset (CMNER) utilizing data sourced from Weibo, China's largest social media platform. Our dataset encompasses 5,000 Weibo posts paired with 18,326 corresponding images. The entities are classified into four distinct categories: person, location, organization, and miscellaneous. We perform baseline experiments on CMNER, and the outcomes underscore the effectiveness of incorporating images for NER. Furthermore, we conduct cross-lingual experiments on the publicly available English MNER dataset (Twitter2015), and the results substantiate our hypothesis that Chinese and English multimodal NER data can mutually enhance the performance of the NER model. Robust Watermarking Based on Multi-layer Watermark Feature Fusion

The purpose of robust image watermarking is to embed a watermark into a carrier image in an invisible form and extract the watermark successfully even under noise interference conditions to achieve copyright confirmation and traceability. Although watermarking methods based on deep learning can improve the robustness by adding a noise simulation layer, few theoretical analyses of the codec structure have been conducted. Theoretical explainability is the theoretical basis for developing a network architecture, which plays a guiding role in network development. On the basis of the interpretability of convolutional networks, this paper analyzes the mathematical process of embedding and extracting watermarks in codecs and proposes a novel watermarking framework based on multi-layer watermark feature fusion. Specifically, the encoder can be a convolutional network structure of arbitrary depth, whereas the decoder needs only to adopt its corresponding deconvolution structure. To improve the quality and robustness of the generated watermarked image, the watermark is associated with an arbitrary layer feature space in the decoder. In the decoder, the network quickly converges to each original encoding feature space through the deconvolution structure, thus decoupling the watermark features. Finally, the watermark is extracted via the automatic fusion of multi-layer watermark features. The experimental results show that the proposed method is suitable for few-shot learning, and its invisibility, robustness and generalization performance on multiple datasets are significantly better than those of other advanced methods. © 2025 IEEE.

Emotion cause pair extraction (ECPE), as one of the derived subtasks of emotion cause analysis (ECA), shares rich inter-related features with emotion extraction (EE) and cause extraction (CE). Therefore EE and CE are frequently utilized as auxiliary tasks for better feature learning, modeled via multi-task learning (MTL) framework by prior works to achieve state-of-the-art (SoTA) ECPE results. However, existing MTL-based methods either fail to simultaneously model the specific features and the interactive feature in between, or suffer from the inconsistency of label prediction. In this work, we consider addressing the above challenges for improving ECPE by performing two alignment mechanisms with a novel A2Net model. We first propose a feature-task alignment to explicitly model the specific emotion-&cause-specific features and the shared interactive feature. Besides, an inter-task alignment is implemented, in which the label distance between the ECPE and the combinations of EE&CE are learned to be narrowed for better label consistency. Evaluations of benchmarks show that our methods outperform current best-performing systems on all ECA subtasks. In this study, we unveil an innovative framework for aspect-based sentiment analysis specifically designed for Urdu news headlines. Our approach uniquely combines the power of Graph Attention Networks (GAT) with the multilingual BERT model to navigate the linguistic intricacies of Urdu, a language often overlooked in computational sentiment analysis. Central to our work is the development of a first-of-its-kind, manually annotated dataset for Urdu, meticulously crafted to reflect its diverse linguistic attributes. This dataset serves as a critical tool in enhancing our model’s accuracy and comprehensiveness. By merging the contextual capabilities of BERT with the relational insights provided by GAT, we have created a model that excels in extracting and classifying sentiments from Urdu news content. Our methodology not only involves extensive preprocessing of data, including tokenization, POS tagging, and lemmatization using Stanza, but also sets a new benchmark in aspect extraction and sentiment analysis for Urdu. This pioneering research contributes significantly to narrowing the gap in NLP resources for low-resource languages and facilitate regional language processing, offering valuable insights for linguists, media analysts, and NLP practitioners.

Climate change has had large impacts on marine animals,including neon flying squid Ommastrephes bartramii(***)in the North Pacific *** statoliths from 2012,2015,and 2016 were used to evaluate the variations in life cycle *** relationship between mantle length and body weight showed significant differences between years and *** oldest squid was collected in 2016 at 271 days old,further proving that *** has nearly a 1-year life *** hatching season ranged from December to May and the peak hatching time in 2015 was one-half month later than in 2012 and *** rates varied with environmental factors such as sea surface temperature(SST)and chlorophyll a concentration(chl.a),indicating that higher SST and chl.a concentrations led to faster *** extreme El Ni˜no event with lower SST in 2015 also led to younger age class and slower growth *** occurrence of differences in body size and growth rates between years,caused by the interannual variations of environmental factors,makes it necessary to use separate growth curves for different years when analyzing North Pacific *** populations.

Stable learning aims to learn a model that generalizes well to arbitrary unseen target domain by leveraging a single source domain. Recent advances in stable learning have focused on balancing the distribution of confounders for each feature to eliminate spurious correlations. However, previous studies treat all features equally without considering the difficulties of confounder balancing associated with different features, and regard irrelevant features as confounders, deteriorating generalization performance. To tackle these issues, this article proposes a novel triplex learning (TriL) based stable learning algorithm, which performs sample reweighting, causal feature selection, and representation learning to remove spurious correlations. Specifically, first, TriL adaptively assigns weights to the confounder balancing term of each feature in accordance with the difficulties of confounder balancing, and aligns the confounder distribution of each feature by learning a group of sample weights. Second, TriL integrates the sample weights into a weighted cross-entropy model to compute causal effects of features for excluding irrelevant features from the confounder set. Finally, TriL relearns a set of sample weights and uses them to guide a new supervised dual-autoencoder containing two classifiers to learn feature representations. TriL forces the results of two classifiers to remain consistent for removing spurious correlations by using a cross-classifier consistency regularization. Extensive experiments on synthetic and two real-world datasets show the superiority of TriL compared with seven methods. © 2024 IEEE.
