This paper proposes a new method for finding principal curves from complex distribution dataset. Motivated by solving the problem, which is that existing methods did not perform well on finding principal curve in complex distribution dataset with high curvature, high dispersion and self-intersecting, such as spiral-shaped curves, Firstly, rudimentary principal graph of data set is created based on the thinning algorithm, and then the contiguous vertices are merged. Finally the fitting-and-smoothing step introduced by Kegl is improved to optimize the principal graph, and Kegl's restructuring step is used to rectify imperfections of principal graph. Experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed method on finding principal curves in complex distribution dataset.

With the fast development of Internet technology and information processing technology, the image is commonly transmitted via the Internet. People enjoy the convenience and shortcut, but people have to face to the obsession that the important image information in transmission is easily intercepted by unknown persons or hackers. In order to enhance the image information security, image encryption becomes an important research direction. An image encryption algorithm based on DNA sequences for the big image is presented in this paper. The main purpose of this algorithm is to reduce the big image encryption time. This algorithm is implemented by using the natural DNA sequences as main keys. The first part is the process of pixel scrambling. The original image is confused in the light of the scrambling sequence is generated by the DNA sequence. The second part is the process of pixel replacement. The pixel gray values of the new image and the one of the three encryption templates are generated by the other DNA sequence are XORed bit-by-bit in turn. The experimental result demonstrates that the image encryption algorithm is feasible and simple. Through performance analysis, this algorithm is robust against all kinds of attacks and owns higher security. © 2010 IEEE.

DNA self-assembly that is fast developed in the fields of DNA computing and nano technology has become the focus of scientific fields. DNA self-assembly is a method that uses the characteristics of base-pair to form polyhedron or super molecular structure. This is a complex progress from disordered to well-ordered, from simple to complicated. This paper mainly introduces that the DNA self-assembly technology is applied into the image encryption. In this paper, we proposed a complete design scheme of DNA tiles that is suitable for the image encryption. The DNA tiles mainly include five types, namely DNA tiles of the plaintext, DNA tiles of the encryption, DNA tiles of the cipertext, DNA tiles of the key and DNA tiles of the decryption. Through a simulate example, the effect of the image encryption algorithm is shown. ©2010 IEEE.

According to the surface impedance method, the equations of both monofilar mode and bifilar mode of guided electromagnetic waves in mine tunnels were presented, the distribution of synthesized electromagnetic field in tunnels was given by utilizing image approach. The attenuation constant of monofilar mode in a circular tunnel was solved. The simulation results show that propagation attenuation of monofilar mode of low frequency would increase as increasing of frequency. The skin effect and attenuation would be fearful as cable closing tunnel wall nearby, and the attenuation would be reduced if cable was located in tunnel locate. The field of binIar mode is concentrated in space between double cable and around area, the effects are stronger due to space between double cables than space between double cables and tunnel wall, in same time that attenuation of mononIar mode would be increasing with the decreasing of space between cables and tunnel wall. ©2010 IEEE.

The ISODATA clustering algorithm is regarded as a common method in the field of analyzing remote sensing images. It is very effective to generate a preliminary overview of images. These kinds of clustering methods are currently done in personal computers. However, with the development of remote sensing technology, the spatial resolutions are increasing rapidly and the sizes of the data are becoming larger. Clustering large amounts of images is considerably time-consuming in personal computers because of the limitation of both hardware and software resources. Researchers have developed many kinds of variants of the ISODATA algorithm executing in parallel, and most of them are implemented by using MPI. Generally, writing programs in MPI requires sophisticated skills of the user. Different with the former studies, we propose in this paper to parallel ISODATA clustering algorithm on MapReduce, another parallel programming model that is very easy to use. The algorithm is mainly divided into two steps defined by the framework of MapReduce, and they are detailed by pseudo-codes. To improve the accuracies of the color values, the color space CIELAB is used instead of RGB. The experiment results demonstrates that our proposed algorithm possess a robust scalability and the computational time substantially reduced through increasing the number of nodes and it may inspire new solutions of other similar problems. © 2010 IEEE.

This paper deals with the problem of task allocation (i.e,;to which processor should each task of an application be assigned) in heterogeneous distributed computing systems with the goal of maximizing the system reliability. The problem of finding an optimal task allocation is known to be NP-hard in the strong sense. We propose a new swarm intelligence technique based on the honeybee mating optimization (HBMO) algorithm for this problem. The HBMO based approach combines the power of simulated annealing, genetic algorithms with a fast problem specific local search heuristic to find the best possible solution within a reasonable computation time. We study the performance of the algorithm over a wide range of parameters such as the number of tasks, the number of processors, the ratio of average communication time to average computation time, and task interaction density of applications. The effectiveness and efficiency of our algorithm are demonstrated by comparing it with recently proposed task allocation algorithms for maximizing system reliability available in the literature. © 2010 Elsevier Inc. A variety of wavelet transform methods have been introduced to remove noise from images. However, many of these algorithms remove the fine details and smooth the structures of the image when removing noise. The wavelet coefficient magnitude sum (WCMS) algorithm can preserve edges, but it is at the expense of removing noise. The Non-Local means algorithm can removing noise effective. But it tend to cause distortion (eg white). Meanwhile, when the noise is large, the method is not so effective. In this paper, we propose an efficient denoising algorithm. we denoised the image with non-local means algorithm in the spatial domain and WCMS algorithm in wavelet domain, weithted, combined them and got the image that we want. The experiment shows that our algorithm can improve PSNR form 0.6dB to 1.0dB and the image boundary is more clearly. © 2010 IEEE.

Oriented to the goal of high-quality banking softwares, trustworthiness is emerging to be important property. This paper studies how to apply formal methods into the trustworthy property preservation of evolutionary components, focusing on the safety property of the concurrent software behavior, this paper presents a new approach to curb the state explosion problem in the model checking based trustworthiness verification. By adopting the environment reduction paradigm, our method is able to reduce the global states of the system by hiding the internal actions of the environment that does not join in the interleaving composition. The method presented is proved and testified with a bank software case study. Experiment data shows that our method is able to improve the verification efficiency. © copy;2010 IEEE.

Intuition process is a very essential in the product creative design stage. A new creative design approach is put forward based on product gene and intuition models. The product gene model and its sequential gene manipulation are established. The intuition process reflects that the thinking of human brain produces qualitative change. An approach of intuition simulation is used by Hebb learning law, Hopfield neural networks and crossover and mutation. The calculating models and the calculating formulas for the creative design are put forward. Finally, this essay offers us the applied examples for creative design of solar energy portable lamp. The better results are obtained in the creative design. ©2010 IEEE.
