The quality of environmental data and its possible impact on the marine species habitat modelling are often overlooked while the sources for these data are *** study selected sea surface temperature(SST)from two commonly used sources,the NOAA Ocean Watch and IRI/LDEO Climate Data Library,and then constructed habitat suitability index model to evaluate the influences of SST from the two sources on the outcomes of Ommastrephes bartramii habitat models for the months of July–October in the Northwest Pacific Ocean during 1996–*** study examined the differences in the amount of estimated unfavourable/favourable habitat area when the SST used for model building and inference were the same or *** in suitable habitat area calculated from SST was insensitive to the two different SST *** the fishing season of ***,the changes of magnitude and trend of monthly suitable habitat area in August and September were similar over time,whereas there were large differences for July and ***,there is a substantial lack of consistency in the *** habitat distribution based on SST of two *** study considered the sources of environmental data for habitat modelling and then inferred species habitat distribution whether by the same or different data source.

Commonly abstracted as a set of units, the complex systems in the real world are interconnected with each other using the specific dynamical methods. However, in practice, there is nothing else but the performances of the system known, nor are the network structure and the dynamical rules observed. In order to solve this problem, a research has been conducted on network reconstruction, so as to recover the potential network structure and network dynamics from the observed time series. In this paper, a new method is proposed, namely, slope difference similarity (SDS), which is a way of thinking in reverse. Based on the trend of change in nodes, the coupling degree between nodes is judged and the network is reconstructed. By comparing the SDS and Kendall rank correlation method with experiments, the experimental results are obtained in this paper to demonstrate the effectiveness of SDS network reconstruction. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Heavy metal ions in shellfish products are harmful to human health,and their removal with low nutrient loss remains ***,a new type of mesoporous silica(SBA15),modified internally with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate(APDC)and externally with alkyl-diol groups,which was named as Diol-APDC-SBA15,was successfully developed and characterized by powder X-ray diffraction patterns,nitrogen adsorption,and Fourier transform infrared *** solutions with lead,chromium,cadmium,and copper were used to investigate the adsorption capacity of ***-APDC-SBA15 was adopted to remove heavy metals from cooking liquids of clams(Ruditapes philippinarum),hydrolysate liquids of oysters(Ostrea gigas Thunberg),and polysaccharide solution from the cooking liquid of *** efficiencies of removing heavy metal ions and the loss rates of proteins and polysaccharides were *** results showed that the adsorption capacities of Diol-APDCSBA15 for Pb,Cr,Cd,and Cu in standard heavy-metal solutions were 161.4,166.1,29.6,and 60.2mgg^(−1),*** removal efficiency of Diol-APDC-SBA15 for Pb in the three shellfish processing liquids ranged from 60.5%to 99.6%.The Cr removal efficiency was above 99.9%in the oyster hydrolysate ***,the percentages of polysaccharide loss were 5.5%and 3.7%in the cooking liquid of clam and polysaccharide solution,respectively,and the protein loss was 1.2%in the oyster hydrolysate ***,the Diol-APDC-SBA15 material exhibits a great potential application in the removal of heavy metals from shellfish processing liquids with low losses of proteins and polysaccharides.

Blockchain, as an emerging distributed database, effectively addresses the issue of centralized storage in IoT data, where storage capacity cannot match the explosive growth in devices and data scale, as well as the contradictions arising from centralized data management concerning data privacy and security concerns. To alleviate the problem of excessive pressure on single-point storage and ensure data security, a blockchain data storage method based on erasure codes is proposed. This method involves constructing mathematical functions that describe the data to split the original block data into multiple fragments and add redundant slices. These fragments are then encoded and stored in different locations using a circular hash space with the addition of virtual nodes to ensure load balancing among nodes and reduce situations where a single node stores too many encoded data blocks, effectively enhancing the storage space utilization efficiency of the distributed storage database. The blockchain storage method stores encoded data digest information such as storage location, creation time, and hashes, allowing for the tracing of the origin of encoded data blocks. In case of accidental loss or malicious tampering, this enables effective recovery and ensures the integrity and availability of data in the network. Experimental results indicate that compared to traditional blockchain approaches, this method effectively reduces the storage pressure on nodes and exhibits a certain degree of disaster recovery capability. © 2023 IEEE.

Swordtip squid(Uroteuthis edulis)is one of the important economical fishing target species in the East China *** edulis is characterized by rapid growth,extensive migration,and long spawning period and sensitive to surrounding *** order to assess its stock status,it is necessary to explore its spawning season,growth patterns of different populations and their relationship with the environment in *** this paper,based on the samples of *** collected in the East China Sea from September 2017 to March 2018,we explored the relationships between daily growth of statolith microstructure and environmental variables by gradient forest method and generalized additive *** spawning season of *** was found to be nearly one year,and two dominant season groups were found:the spring group with the peak period of April and the summer group with the peak period of *** temperature in the depth of 25 m(Temp_25),sea surface temperature(SST)and zonal velocity were the key environmental variables for the daily growth of April-spawning *** most suitable environmental conditions for the growth of April-spawning group were water temperature(24-27℃)and velocity(0.1-0.3 m/s).SST,Temp_25 and mixed layer depth were the key environment variables for the daily growth of August-spawning *** most suitable environmental conditions for the growth of Augustspawning group were water temperature(21-28℃)and water depth(0-50 m).key environmental variables of different groups suggested that early growth was significantly affected by seasonal changes of water temperature,current velocity and prey *** study explored the relationships between early growth and environmental variables and provided the scientific guidance for the management and conservation of ***.

The development of 5G technology and Ultra HD video provide the basis for panoramic video, namely virtual reality (VR). At present, the traditional VQA method is not effective on panoramic video. Therefore, it is crucial to design objective VQA models for the standardization of panoramic video industry. With the development of deep learning, excellent algorithms of VQA methods based on convolutional neural network have emerged. In this paper, we propose a full reference VQA model based on spatial-temporal 3D convolutional neural network, the feature extraction combined the time and spatial information. we verify and optimize the proposed VQA model based on VQA-ODV panoramic video database, its objective score has a higher correlation with subjective scores than that of traditional VQA methods. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Gathering reliable labeled samples for polarimetric synthetic aperture (PolSAR) image classification is laborious. Moreover, applying a trained classifier to new domains often leads to noticeable performance degradation due to domain disparities. Therefore, this paper proposes the novel complex-valued cross-domain (CD) few-shot learning classification (CCFSLC) method for PolSAR images to address these issues. Firstly, the transferrable knowledge learning module (TKLM) with a complex-valued feature encoder (CVFE) is trained using source data with sufficient labeled samples. Then, the deep few-shot learning module (DFSLM), constructed using the pre-trained CVFE, is trained by episodes in both source and target domains, with only minimal target labeled samples. Meanwhile, the adversarial domain adaptation module (ADAM) is employed to eliminate domain shift. The proposed CCFSLC mainly focuses on exploring discriminative information from raw PolSAR data, while reducing the domain gap to recognize novel categories in unseen domains with only a few annotated samples. Experiments on typical PolSAR datasets validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2023.

Cross-Core and Robust Covert Channel Based on Macro-Op Fusion

Covert channels based on the CPU front-end typically utilize time or power differences caused by contention. This requires that the sender and receiver are located on the same and quiet physical core. We propose one channel exploiting the macro-op fusion in the front-end, called MFCC, which has cross-core and robust properties. Macro-op fusion is one of the optimization strategies in x86 microarchitecture, which aims to fuse two macro-ops and decode them into a single micro-op. We reverse the constraints of macro-op fusion and find that decoders stop decoding after two macro-op fusions in one cycle. Thus time differences appear in two identical loops with different virtual addresses, represent-ing one and zero, respectively. We build two types of MFCC: the sender and receiver running in the same thread but operating at different privilege levels, and the two running in two different processes. The accuracy within a single thread is almost independent of the CPU load, while the accuracy of interprocess transmission maintains more than 0.8 even when the CPU load is 100%. Finally, we propose three possible protection strategies: eliminating the macro-op fusion mechanism, adding noise to the hardware counters, and making the events delivered at a defined point in time. This paper demonstrates that even minor optimizations in the front-end can lead to covert transmission. © 2023 Han Wang and Ming Tang.

Powerful facial image manipulation offered by encoder-based GAN inversion techniques raises concerns about potential misuse in identity fraud and misinformation. This study introduces the Multi-Domain and Multi-Dimensional Feature Fusion (MDFusion) method, a novel approach that counters encoder-based GAN inversion by generating adversarial samples. Firstly, MDFusion transforms the luminance channel of the target image into spatial, frequency, and spatial-frequency hybrid domains. Secondly, we use the specifically adapted Feature Pyramid Network (FPN) to extract and fuse high-dimensional and low-dimensional features that enhance the robustness of adversarial noise generation. Then, we embed adversarial noise into the spatial-frequency hybrid domain to produce effective adversarial samples. Finally, the adversarial samples are guided by our designed hybrid training loss to achieve a balance between imperceptibility and effectiveness. Tests were conducted on five encoder-based GAN inversion models using ASR, LPIPS, and FID metrics. These tests demonstrated the superiority of MDFusion over 13 baseline methods, highlighting its robust defense and generalization abilities. Clustering is a fundamental approach to understanding data patterns, wherein the intuitive Euclidean distance space is commonly adopted. However, this is not the case for implicit cluster distributions reflected by qualitative attribute values, e.g., the nominal values of attributes like symptoms, marital status, etc. This paper, therefore, discovered a tree-like distance structure to flexibly represent the local order relationship among intra-attribute qualitative values. That is, treating a value as the vertex of the tree allows to capture rich order relationships among the vertex value and the others. To obtain the trees in a clustering-friendly form, a joint learning mechanism is proposed to iteratively obtain more appropriate tree structures and clusters. It turns out that the latent distance space of the whole dataset can be well-represented by a forest consisting of the learned trees. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the joint learning adapts the forest to the clustering task to yield accurate results. Comparisons of 10 counterparts on 12 real benchmark datasets with significance tests verify the superiority of the proposed method.
