A four-arm Archimedean spiral multi-mode OAM (Orbital Angular Momentum) antenna with bandwidth of 1.34GHz-9.53GHz is presented and analyzed. The bandwidth of traditional OAM antenna is dramatically improved by utilizing the self-complementarity between the arms of Archimede spiral. Comparing to the dual arm helical antenna, the vortex electromagnetic wave phase for the proposed scheme shows better continuity and purity, simultaneously more modes are realized. The reflector is arranged under the ground to make the antenna achieve unidirectional radiation characteristics and reduce backward radiation. The mode for l= 0, l= 1, l= 2 and mixed mode l= 1.2 are realized by controlling phase of the four different feed ports. Finally, the effects about the rotation radius for the Archimede spiral on the patterns with various arm width is investigated and discussed. The results are significant consistency with the design, and concurrently superb vortex characteristics are achieved in different modes. © 2022 IEEE.

StyleMark: A Robust Watermarking Method for Art Style Images Against Black-Box Arbitrary Style Transfer

Arbitrary Style Transfer (AST) achieves the rendering of real natural images into the painting styles of arbitrary art style images, promoting art communication. However, misuse of unauthorized art style images for AST may infringe on artists’ copyrights. One countermeasure is robust watermarking, which tracks image propagation by embedding copyright watermarks into carriers. Unfortunately, AST-generated images lose the structural and semantic information of the original style image, hindering end-to-end robust tracking by watermarks. To fill this gap, we propose StyleMark, the first robust watermarking method for black-box AST, which can be seamlessly applied to art style images achieving precise attribution of artistic styles after AST. Specifically, we propose a new style watermark network that adjusts the mean activations of style features through multi-scale watermark embedding, thereby planting watermark traces into the shared style feature space of style images. Furthermore, we design a distribution squeeze loss, which constrain content statistical feature distortion, forcing the reconstruction network to focus on integrating style features with watermarks, thus optimizing the intrinsic watermark distribution. Finally, based on solid end-to-end training, StyleMark mitigates the optimization conflict between robustness and watermark invisibility through decoder fine-tuning under random noise. Experimental results demonstrate that StyleMark exhibits significant robustness against black-box AST and common pixel-level distortions, while also securely defending against malicious adaptive attacks. The objective of Multimodal Knowledge Graph Completion (MKGC) is to forecast absent entities within a knowledge graph by leveraging additional textual and visual modalities. Existing studies commonly utilize a singular relationship embedding to depict all modalities within an entity pair, thus connecting several relationships derived from diverse modalities. However, this coupling may introduce interference from conflicting information between modalities, as the relationships between modalities for a given entity pair can be contradictory. Moreover, existing Ensemble Inference methods fail to dynamically adjust modal weights based on their differences and importance, despite the varying contributions of different modalities. In this paper, we propose the Multimodal Decouple and Relation-based Ensemble inference (MDRE) model. For each modality, we construct corresponding relationship embeddings and build separate triple representations to avoid interferences among modalities. During the training phase, we employ confidence-constrained training with temperature scaling to alleviate conflicting information in textual and visual modalities. For inference, we utilize the Relation-based Ensemble Inference method to adjust modal weights at the relationship level, thus achieving improved prediction results. Experimental results on two datasets demonstrate that MDRE outperforms existing single-modal and multimodal knowledge graph completion methods in terms of performance. © 2023 IEEE.

A microstrip circular polarization (CP) patch antenna with a combination of unequal slots and arc-shaped protruding patches is proposed and designed, which can work for L2 band of GPS. The antenna is composed of ground plane, dielectric and radiation patch, where two unequal slots and arc-shaped protruding patches are loaded on the patch and placed along the diagonal. By adjusting the radius of arc-shape slots and protruding patches, Left-handed circular polarization (LHCP) is realized. Simulation and optimization results show that the CP antenna achieves axial ratio bandwidth of 10MHz and impedance bandwidth of 40MHz, providing a potential application for GPS. © 2022 IEEE.

In faster-than-Nyquist (FTN) transmission over frequency-selective fading channels, it is essential to eliminate both FTN-induced intersymbol-interference (ISI) (FTN-ISI) and channel-induced ISI (channel-ISI). Although frequency domain equalization (FDE) techniques can mitigate channel-ISI at the receiver, their performance is often inadequate. In contrast, cyclic prefix/suffix (CPS)-G-to-minus-half (GTMH) precoding shows superior effectiveness in mitigating channel-ISI. However, existing CPS-GTMH precoding techniques assume the transmitter obtains perfect channel state information (CSI) estimated at the receiver. This is impractical due to the high latency in satellite communication links. Therefore, this paper explores precoding for FTN signaling under imperfect CSI (ICSI) and proposes CPS-minimum mean squared error (MMSE) and linear pre-equalization (LPE)-MMSE precoding schemes based on the MMSE criterion. Both schemes employ a cyclic prefix to transform the channel-ISI matrix into the circular matrix, thereby avoiding inter-block interference. The primary distinction is that CPS-MMSE precoding handles FTN-ISI and channel-ISI together using MMSE precoding. In contrast, LPE-MMSE precoding addresses FTN-ISI with LPE and channel-ISI with MMSE precoding separately. Simulation results indicate that CPS-MMSE and LPE-MMSE precodings outperform CPS-FDE and LPE-FDE in mitigating channel-ISI when the estimation error is 0.005 and 0.01. For instance, with a packing ratio of 0.9, a roll-off factor of 0.25, and an estimation error of 0.01, CPS-MMSE and LPE-MMSE precodings achieve bit error rate (BER) gains of approximately 0.8 dB and 1 dB at a BER of 1e4, respectively. However, when the estimation error increases to 0.1, the BER performance of CPS-FDE and LPE-FDE surpasses that of the CPS-MMSE and LPE-MMSE precodings, indicating the proposed precoding schemes' unsuitability for larger channel estimation errors.

Based on the equivalent circuit model of PIN diode and the full wave simulation method of CST software, the system performance of finite large energy selective surface (ESS) is simulated and analyzed when the number of cells is small. The simulation results show that the working performance of ESS will be degraded by the slight surface deformation caused by external force but not fail completely. Therefore, in the practical application of ESS, attention should be paid to avoid deformation caused by external force extrusion, which will reduce the shielding performance of ESS. The simulation results provide reference value for the practical design and application of energy selective surface. © 2022 IEEE.

With the continuous emergence of various social media platforms frequently used in daily life, the multimodal meme understanding (MMU) task has been garnering increasing attention. MMU aims to explore and comprehend the meanings of memes from various perspectives by performing tasks such as metaphor recognition, sentiment analysis, intention detection, and offensiveness detection. Despite making progress, limitations persist due to the loss of fine-grained metaphorical visual clue and the neglect of multimodal text-image weak correlation. To overcome these limitations, we propose a multi-granular multimodal clue fusion model (MGMCF) to advance MMU. Firstly, we design an object-level semantic mining module to extract object-level image feature clues, achieving fine-grained feature clue extraction and enhancing the model’s ability to capture metaphorical details and semantics. Secondly, we propose a brand-new global-local cross-modal interaction model to address the weak correlation between text and images. This model facilitates effective interaction between global multimodal contextual clues and local unimodal feature clues, strengthening their representations through a bidirectional cross-modal attention mechanism. Finally, we devise a dual-semantic guided training strategy to enhance the model’s understanding and alignment of multimodal representations in the semantic space. Experiments conducted on the widely-used MET-MEME bilingual dataset demonstrate significant improvements over state-of-the-art baselines. Specifically, there is an 8.14% increase in precision for offensiveness detection task, and respective accuracy enhancements of 3.53%, 3.89%, and 3.52% for metaphor recognition, sentiment analysis, and intention detection tasks. These results, underpinned by in-depth analyses, underscore the effectiveness and potential of our approach for advancing MMU. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). A U-shaped-like parasitic strip loading antenna is proposed and designed, which can work in L1 band of GPS with circular polarization (CP) characteristics. The antenna consists of ground plane, dielectric, radiation patch and U-shaped-like parasitic strips using a simple coaxial feed probe. The asymmetric U-shaped-like strips are to realize CP. The simulation and optimization results for the modeled directional CP antenna show that the axial ratio bandwidth is 10MHz and the impedance bandwidth is 30MHz, which can meet the requirements for GPS L1 band. © 2022 IEEE.

Developing a clean and efficient Integrated Energy System (IES) is critical to optimizing the use of renewable energy sources and harnessing new forms of energy to achieve the country’s 2030 carbon peak and 2060 carbon neutrality targets. Existing natural gas pipelines in China facilitate the transport of hydrogen blended into the natural gas network and offer the possibility of storing hydrogen blended into natural gas pipelines. This paper proposes an optimal integrated energy dispatch strategy based on electricity-gas-hydrogen-heat-cooling demand, taking into account carbon emissions and economic efficiency, where renewable energy is no longer connected to the grid or stored in batteries, but converted to hydrogen mixed into the natural gas grid for transport and storage, with the economic objective of minimizing the total IES operating cost, the wind and light abandonment cost and the carbon emission cost. The CPLEX solver is used to solve the problem, and the feasibility of the proposed model is verified by simulation results, which promotes the consumption of renewable and clean energy.
