Centralized training of deep learning-based network intrusion detection systems (DLNIDS) raises privacy concerns and incurs huge overhead. Federated learning (FL), while preserving privacy, confronts challenges including size imbalance, heterogeneous and global imbalance. To address these issues, this paper proposes a Self-Balancing Federated learning Network Intrusion Detection System (SBFedNIDS) for accurate and efficient network intrusion detection while preserving privacy and tackling negative impact caused by multiple imbalances resulting from FL. SBFedNΠ)S can efficiently mitigate model bias cause by multiple imbalances and addresses imbalances at data-level via federated cost sensitive learning (FCSL) and client synthetic minority over-sampling technique (CSMOTE), without requiring additional training resources, unlike generative models. Extensive experiments on a benchmark dataset show that SBFedNIDS outperforms baselines in multiple imbalanced scenarios and even surpasses centralized training in several settings.

A New Dual-Population Evolutionary Algorithm Leveraging Objective-Constraint Relationships for Constrained Multi-Objective Optimization

Population co-evolution strategies are widely used to handle constrained multi-objective optimization problems (CMOPs). However, existing coevolutionary algorithms oversimplify population collaboration and are rigid in evolving the auxiliary population, ignoring the importance of maintaining population diversity, especially for CMOPs with irregular feasible regions. To tackle this issue, we propose a new dual-population evolutionary algorithm, denoted as AACMO, which attempts to mine the relational features between the unconstrained Pareto front (UPF) and the constrained Pareto front (CPF) to better adapt to CMOPs with various constraints. Specifically, the method is categorized into two phases: a learning phase and an evolving phase. First, the main population (MP) aims to quickly learn the relationships between the UPF and the CPF by leveraging the advantages of different operators, namely, genetic algorithm operators and differential evolution operators, during the learning phase. Secondly, two auxiliary strategies are designed to collaborate with the MP during the evolving phase. These strategies are capable of employing a more effective co-evolution method to assist the MP in maintaining diversity, based on the degree of alignment between the learned UPF and CPF at the end of the learning phase. The effectiveness of AACMO is confirmed through comparative analysis with eight state-of-the-art algorithms across four CMOP benchmark suites. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Multi-Scenario Ranking with Adaptive Feature Learning

Recently, Multi-Scenario Learning (MSL) is widely used in recommendation and retrieval systems in the industry because it facilitates transfer learning from different scenarios, mitigating data sparsity and reducing maintenance cost. These efforts produce different MSL paradigms by searching more optimal network structure, such as Auxiliary Network, Expert Network, and Multi-Tower Network. It is intuitive that different scenarios could hold their specific characteristics, activating the user’s intents quite differently. In other words, different kinds of auxiliary features would bear varying importance under different scenarios. With more discriminative feature representations refined in a scenario-aware manner, better ranking performance could be easily obtained without expensive search for the optimal network structure. Unfortunately, this simple idea is mainly overlooked but much desired in real-world systems. To this end, in this paper, we propose a multi-scenario ranking framework with adaptive feature learning (named Maria). Specifically, Maria is devised to inject the scenario semantics in the bottom part of the network to derive more discriminative feature representations. There are three components designed in Maria for this purpose: feature scaling, feature refinement, and feature correlation modeling. The purpose of feature scaling is to highlight the scenario-relevant fields and also suppress the irrelevant ones. Then, the feature refinement utilizes an automatic refiner selection subnetwork for each feature field, such that the high-level semantics with respect to the scenario can be extracted with the optimal expert. Afterwards, we further explicitly derive the feature correlations across fields as complementary signals. The resultant representations are then fed into a simple MoE structure with an additional scenario-shared tower for final prediction. With the rise and breakthrough of big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other technologies, the shipping industry is transitioning from the era of automation and information to the era of intelligence. Intelligent shipping is a new modern shipping business form formed by the deep integration of modern information, artificial intelligence and other high-tech and shipping elements. In this paper, firstly the stat of art for inland intelligent container ship is introduced, the overview of the inland intelligent 64 TEU container ship is presented. Secondly, the design of 64 TEU container ship is applied in the consideration of optimization. For the integrated design scheme of the ship, the power system, propulsion device, power system layout, power distribution system, power system monitoring, engine room layout optimization, energy conversion, ship-engine and oar matching and propulsion efficiency are integrated into the overall design. Finally, by systematically studying such problems as rapid construction and real-time service of holographic navigation scene map in inland water network area, design and development of shipboard and shore-based information infrastructure of ship-shore collaboration, intelligent cross-domain computing of ship-shore collaboration, etc., the enhanced navigation and navigation support technology of inland intelligent container ship are performed. In the conclusion, the guidance of the design for intelligent 64 TEU container ship is proposed. © 2023 IEEE.

Robotic grasping is a fundamental skill for robots, but it is quite challenging in cluttered scenes. In cluttered scenes, the precise prediction of high-quality grasp configurations such as rotation and grasping width while avoiding collisions is essential. To accomplish this, the grasp detection models require the capabilities of stronger fine-grained information extracted around the grasp points. However, due to the computational resource restriction, point clouds are usually downsampled in existing networks, which inevitably make some potentially important points discarded. To overcome this problem, we propose a Grasp Region Exploration module to explore the area covered by high-quality grasps. Based on the grasp region, we enhance the point density around the grasp points to mitigate the loss of information caused by downsampling. Furthermore, we devise the Grasp Region Attention module to dynamically aggregate features of various points within the grasp region, such as the grasp point and contact points. The proposed method achieves state-of-the-art performance on the large-scale GraspNet-1Billion dataset. We also conduct real-world experiments on a Franka Emika Panda robot and show that the robot can grasp objects in cluttered scenes with a high success rate.

Recently, the development of LiDAR in the field of vehicle has made the core micromirror with essential characteristics of large tilted angle and small size. We proposed a two-dimensional electrostatically actuated MEMS micromirror with a slender torsion bar. With the modified theoretical formula, two different torsional modes and corresponding torsional frequencies of the micromirror are obtained, which are then compared to the results by finite element simulation, and revealed a good agreement. The rotation angle of the micromirror is improved through optimizing the micromirror structure. Meanwhile, it is found that the driving voltage and the moment of inertia introduce the softening behavior of the spring, which will then affect the torsion frequency. To prevent the torsion bar stress is too large, with the sinusoidal driving voltage of 75V and 100V, the corresponding mechanical rotation angles are 14.8° and 15.3° at a driving frequency of 340.5Hz and 1500Hz, respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

Dual-demodulation large-scope high-sensitivity refractive index sensor based on twin-core PCF

In this paper, a refractive index(RI) sensor based on the twin-core photonic crystal fiber(TC-PCF) is presented. Introducing the rectangular array in the core area makes the PCF possible to obtain high birefringence and low confinement loss over the wavelength range from 0.6 μm to 1.7 μm. Therefore, the core region can enhance the interaction between the core mode and the filling material. We studied theoretically the evolution characteristics of the birefringence and operating wavelength corresponding to the strongest polarization point under the condition of filling the rectangular array with RI matching fluid range from 1.33 to 1.41. Simulation results reveal that the proposed TC-PCF has opposite evolutions of change rates between the B and wavelength, and the maximum RI sensing sensitivities of 1.809× 10-2 B/RIU and 8 700 nm/RIU at low and high RI infill are obtained respectively, which means that the TC-PCF features of dual-parameter demodulation for the RI sensing can maintain a high refractive index sensing sensitivity within a large scope of RI ranging from 1.33 to 1.41. Compared with the results of single-parameter demodulation, it is an optimized method to improve the sensitivity of low refractive index sensors, which has great application potency in the field of biochemical sensing and detection.

The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) has achieved remote diagnosis and real-time health monitoring through intelligent sensor devices and Internet of Things (IoT) technology, providing great convenience for analyzing medical conditions between doctors and patients. However, sensitive information such as patient medical data may face security challenges such as data leakage and abuse during transmission in the IoMT. To ensure the confidentiality and unforgeability of medical data transmission, scholars have proposed many cryptographic schemes. With the development of quantum computers, schemes based on traditional cryptographic primitives have become insecure. Existing cryptographic schemes for IoMT cannot simultaneously meet the security requirements of high communication performance, low computational overhead, and resistance to quantum attacks. Therefore, we propose an efficient module-lattice-based certificateless online/offline signcryption (MLCLOOSC) scheme resistant to quantum attacks while meeting the confidentiality and unforgeability requirements under Type I and Type II attacks. Compared with five recent CLOOSC schemes, theoretical analysis, and experimental test results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the other five schemes regarding computational and communication costs and security. Therefore, our scheme is more suitable for application in IoMT scenarios. © 2014 IEEE.

To solve the complex modeling and difficult parameter adjustment of traditional car-following control methods, we propose the car-following framework KgPPO-CF. The KgPPOCF brings expert experience into the interactive process of Deep Reinforcement Learning, which improves the speed and robustness of training policies. We use four different reward functions and compare the effects of policies trained by different designs on car-following control. In the Carla simulator, KgPPO-CF achieves car-following control in a continuous action space. The experimental results show that, compared with the traditional control methods, the control strategy obtained by KgPPO-CF training has better adaptability.
