Oracle Bone Inscriptions (OBI), as the oldest form of Chinese writing, bears the precious heritage of ancient Chinese civilization. Deciphering OBI has been a monumental challenge in archaeology and philology. However, the preservation method of OBI through rubbings faces significant challenges due to severe noise interference, adversely affecting the accuracy of OBI detection. Additionally, existing traditional object detection algorithms inadequately consider the unique characteristics of OBI, making it difficult to effectively identify Oracle characters on OBI rubbings. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel approach to OBI detection, Oracle Character Prototype-guided cyclic disentanglement for OBI detection. These features are amalgamated into distinct character structure prototypes by capturing shared character structure features among different Oracle characters. This approach highlights the distinctive forms of Oracle characters, enhancing feature clarity and recognition. The Oracle Character Prototypes enable the model to learn common features across different character forms, improving its adaptability to various Oracle character structures and enhancing its capability to handle complexity. Moreover, to mitigate the impact of noise on detection, we introduce a cyclic disentanglement method for Oracle Bone Inscriptions. This process, utilizing the Oracle Character Prototypes and contrastive loss as supervisory signals, cyclically decouples Oracle features, isolating information rich in character structure features. This effectively mitigates the influence of noise on OBI detection. Comprehensive evaluations were conducted, comparing our method with state-of-the-art object detection algorithms, validating its effectiveness both qualitatively and quantitatively. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Unsupervised sentence embedding learning excels through positive sample construction and instance-level contrastive learning (ICL). However, this approach can lead to over-compression and dimensional contamination from noisy data augmentation and unconstrained ICL processes. To mitigate these issues, we propose a novel enhancement method, MSSE, which incorporates an Information Compensation Mechanism (ICM) and a Dimensional-Level Contrastive Learning Mechanism (DCM). ICM, inspired by the information bottleneck principle, prevents excessive compression in representation learning. DCM constrains ICL and minimizes information leakage across dimensions. Experimental results show that MSSE surpasses existing competitive baselines across seven STS tasks, including unsupervised and few-shot scenarios. In vehicular networks, caching service content on edge servers (ESs) is a widely accepted strategy for promptly responding to vehicle requests, reducing communication overhead, and improving service experience. However, implementing such an architecture requires addressing the challenges associated with ES response data reliability and communication security. In this study, to tackle the ES response data reliability issue, a blockchain-assisted threshold signature scheme for cache-based vehicular networks is proposed. The scheme utilizes a threshold mechanism to sign the data broadcast by the ES, incorporates blockchain to trace malicious signers, and avoids the shortcomings and limitations associated with idealized assumptions for the ES in existing data-sharing schemes. Moreover, considering the communication security and high-speed mobility of vehicles, using the non-interactive signatures of knowledge based on the Σ-protocol, a secure and efficient message authentication scheme for vehicles and ESs is provided. Through rigorous security proofs and comprehensive analyses, our scheme satisfies the communication security requirements of vehicular networks. By leveraging the JPBC library for performance analysis, the proposed scheme demonstrates advantages as concerns both computation and communication overheads compared to related schemes. Moreover, we implemented the proposed scheme on an Ethereum test network (i.e., Goerli) to validate its feasibility. © 2005-2012 IEEE.

Robust Watermarking Based on Multi-layer Watermark Feature Fusion

The purpose of robust image watermarking is to embed a watermark into a carrier image in an invisible form and extract the watermark successfully even under noise interference conditions to achieve copyright confirmation and traceability. Although watermarking methods based on deep learning can improve the robustness by adding a noise simulation layer, few theoretical analyses of the codec structure have been conducted. Theoretical explainability is the theoretical basis for developing a network architecture, which plays a guiding role in network development. On the basis of the interpretability of convolutional networks, this paper analyzes the mathematical process of embedding and extracting watermarks in codecs and proposes a novel watermarking framework based on multi-layer watermark feature fusion. Specifically, the encoder can be a convolutional network structure of arbitrary depth, whereas the decoder needs only to adopt its corresponding deconvolution structure. To improve the quality and robustness of the generated watermarked image, the watermark is associated with an arbitrary layer feature space in the decoder. In the decoder, the network quickly converges to each original encoding feature space through the deconvolution structure, thus decoupling the watermark features. Finally, the watermark is extracted via the automatic fusion of multi-layer watermark features. The experimental results show that the proposed method is suitable for few-shot learning, and its invisibility, robustness and generalization performance on multiple datasets are significantly better than those of other advanced methods. © 2025 IEEE.

The persistent accumulation of radioactive graphite particulates on turbine surfaces presents a critical operational challenge for high-temperature gas-cooled reactor (HTGR) systems. This investigation employs high-fidelity numerical simulations integrating discrete phase modeling with mesh deformation methods to systematically examine particulate deposition dynamics and their subsequent impact on turbine cooling effectiveness. A comprehensive deposition framework accounting for multiphase particle-wall interactions (elastic rebound, adhesion, multilayer stacking, and shear-induced resuspension) was established, complemented by the development of predictive model for accumulated deposition mass. Computational results reveal a non-monotonic relationship between particle size and deposition: sub-5μm particulates exhibit extensive deposition patterns primarily driven by adhesion forces, while larger particles are more likely to undergo resuspension due to drag forces. Elevated blowing ratios (M = 2.0) were found to reduce deposition rates by 7–22 %. Lower deposition height enhances the effectiveness of film cooling, while higher deposition height suppresses it. However, overall, the influence of deposition on cooling is limited. The developed predictive model for maximum accumulated deposition mass exhibits good predictive performance (R2 = 0.99), and elucidates the influence of key parameters of particles and film cooling. This study reveals the long-term deposition behavior of particles on turbine blades and provides valuable insights for the safety analysis of HTGRs. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Smart vehicle applications play a crucial role in intelligent transportation systems, enabling sensor-equipped vehicles to establish dynamic networks for efficient collection, sharing, and aggregation. This significantly enhances road security and efficiency by transmitting crucial information to traffic authorities. However, partial research on certificateless aggregation signcryption (CLAS) scheme reveals an intriguing phenomenon where each proposed scheme consistently exhibits numerous security vulnerabilities, particularly susceptible to public key replacement attacks. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a blockchain-assisted certificateless aggregation sign-cryption scheme (BACLAS), leveraging blockchain technology to securely store users' public key on a distributed ledger and prevent public key replacement attacks effectively. Furthermore, it is a provably secure communication scheme for real-world Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communication while addressing practical security concerns. The BACLAS scheme ensures security in terms of existential unforgeability against adaptive chosen message attacks (EUF-CMA) and indistinguishability against adaptive chosen ciphertext attacks (IND-CCA2) based on the hardness assumption of the elliptic curve discrete logarithm problem and computational Diffie-Hellman problem in the random oracle model. The proposed scheme effectively reduces computational costs and time consumption, resulting in a significant reduction of the computation burden ranging from 50.02% to 88.28% compared to other competitive schemes. Moreover, it successfully addresses the key-escrow problem, thereby achieving enhanced security properties. © 2014 IEEE.

PPSKSQ: Towards Efficient and Privacy-Preserving Spatial keyword Similarity Query in Cloud

The growth of cloud computing has led to the widespread use of location-based services, such as spatial keyword queries, which return spatial data points within a given range that have the highest similarity in keyword sets to the user's. As the volume of spatial data increases, providers commonly outsource data to powerful cloud servers. Because cloud servers are untrustworthy, privacy-preserving keyword query schemes have been proposed. However, existing schemes consider only location queries or exact keyword matching. To address these issues, we propose the Privacy-Preserving Spatial keyword Similarity Query Scheme (PPSKSQ), designed to search for spatial data points with the highest similarity while protecting the privacy of outsourced data, query requests, and results. First, we design two sub-protocols based on improved symmetric homomorphic encryption (iSHE): iSHE-SC for secure size comparison and iSHE-SIP for secure inner product computation. Then, we encode range information and integrate it with a quadtree to construct a novel index structure. Additionally, we use the Jaccard to measure similarity in conjunction with the iSHE-SC protocol, transforming similarity comparison into a matrix trace operation. Finally, rigorous security analysis and extensive simulation experiments confirm the flexibility, efficiency, and scalability of our scheme. © 2013 IEEE.

This technical note presents a counterexample showing that the equivalence conditions proposed by Geng et al. (IEEE Trans. Automat. Control, 2024), which use a minimum-order compensator (MOC) to achieve desired designs, including generalized regularity or both generalized regularity and free of impulse, are sufficient but not necessary. Furthermore, revised equivalence conditions are introduced, along with an equivalence condition ensuring the closed-loop system remains generalized regular, impulse-free, and stable using MOC. Additionally, it is shown that output feedback can replace the MOC, achieving the same design without increasing dimensionality. Advanced defense against GAN-based facial manipulation: A multi-domain and multi-dimensional feature fusion approach

Powerful facial image manipulation offered by encoder-based GAN inversion techniques raises concerns about potential misuse in identity fraud and misinformation. This study introduces the Multi-Domain and Multi-Dimensional Feature Fusion (MDFusion) method, a novel approach that counters encoder-based GAN inversion by generating adversarial samples. Firstly, MDFusion transforms the luminance channel of the target image into spatial, frequency, and spatial-frequency hybrid domains. Secondly, we use the specifically adapted Feature Pyramid Network (FPN) to extract and fuse high-dimensional and low-dimensional features that enhance the robustness of adversarial noise generation. Then, we embed adversarial noise into the spatial-frequency hybrid domain to produce effective adversarial samples. Finally, the adversarial samples are guided by our designed hybrid training loss to achieve a balance between imperceptibility and effectiveness. Tests were conducted on five encoder-based GAN inversion models using ASR, LPIPS, and FID metrics. These tests demonstrated the superiority of MDFusion over 13 baseline methods, highlighting its robust defense and generalization abilities. Task-Oriented 6-DoF Grasp Pose Detection in Clutters

In general, humans would grasp an object differently for different tasks, e.g., "grasping the handle of a knife to cut" vs. "grasping the blade to hand over". In the field of robotic grasp pose detection research, some existing works consider this task-oriented grasping and made some progress, but they are generally constrained by low-DoF gripper type or non-cluttered setting, which is not applicable for human assistance in real life. With an aim to get more general and practical grasp models, in this paper, we investigate the problem named Task-Oriented 6-DoF Grasp Pose Detection in Clutters (TO6DGC), which extends the task-oriented problem to a more general 6-DOF Grasp Pose Detection in Cluttered (multi-object) scenario. To this end, we construct a large-scale 6-DoF task-oriented grasping dataset, 6-DoF Task Grasp (6DTG), which features 4391 cluttered scenes with over 2 million 6-DoF grasp poses. Each grasp is annotated with a specific task, involving 6 tasks and 198 objects in total. Moreover, we propose One-Stage TaskGrasp (OSTG), a strong baseline to address the TO6DGC problem. Our OSTG adopts a task-oriented point selection strategy to detect where to grasp, and a task-oriented grasp generation module to decide how to grasp given a specific task. To evaluate the effectiveness of OSTG, extensive experiments are conducted on 6DTG. The results show that our method outperforms various baselines on multiple metrics. Real robot experiments also verify that our OSTG has a better perception of the task-oriented grasp points and 6-DoF grasp poses. © 2025, CC BY.
