Shape Embedding and Knowledge Mining Network for Generalized Few-Shot Remote Sensing Segmentation

In recent years, generalized few-shot segmentation (GFSS) has received widespread attention from scholars by virtue of its superiority in low-data regimes. Most of the existing research focuses on natural image processing, and few studies have been devoted to the practical but challenging topic of remote sensing image (RSI) understanding. In this paper, we propose a Shape Embedding and Knowledge Mining Network (SKNet) for generalized few-shot RSI segmentation. Specifically, the framework is divided into two key stages: (a) In the base class learning stage, shape representation embedding is introduced to enhance the network's ability to perceive remote sensing objects. Simultaneously, we introduce the self-reconstruction constraint to prevent new unseen classes from merging, thereby improving the representation uniqueness of these classes. (b) In the novel class learning stage, a base class knowledge mining mechanism is designed to update the prototypes of the novel class by using the prototype representation of the base class, so as to enhance the discrimination ability of the network. We validated our methods on the adapted version of OpenEarthMap and iSAID datasets. In comparison with existing GFSS methods, the proposed approach demonstrates an advancement. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

Dermal substitutes have provided a template for the regeneration and reconstruction of the ***,the healed skin tissue often exhibits abnormal morphology and functionality,including scarring and *** this study,a composite bioink composed of methacrylated gelatin(GelMA)and chitosan oligosaccharide(COS)was proposed for printing a dermal scaffold using digital light processing(DLP)*** GelMA/COS bioink exhibited suitable porosity,swelling,degradation rate,and mechanical *** inclusion of COS demonstrated antibacterial effects against both Gram positive and Gram-negative bacteria,while simultaneously fostering the proliferation of human dermal fibroblasts(HDFs).Additionally,the application of COS could effectively reduce the expression levels of fibrosis-related genes,such as collagen I,collagen III,and fibronectin *** three-dimensionally printed cell-laden dermal scaffold exhibited excellent shape fidelity and high cellular viability,facilitating the extension of HDFs along the scaffold and the simultaneous secretion of extracellular matrix ***,the HDF-laden dermal scaffold transplanted into full-thickness skin defect sites in nude mice was shown to accelerate wound closure,reduce inflammation,and improve wound ***,the DLP-printed dermal scaffold provides an appealing approach for effectively treating full-thickness skin defects in clinical settings.

A Parallel Read-Write Circuit With Fast Amplitude-Adaptive Matching Scheme to Memristor Crossbar Array

Memristor crossbar array (MCA) is a computing-in-memory (CIM) module for computational acceleration. However, conventional read-write (R-W) circuits for MCA rely heavily on external components and have shortcoming in long writing times. To address these issues, we propose a parallel R-W circuit with a fast amplitude-adaptive matching (AAM) scheme. The fast AAM scheme is designed to accelerate time of writing memristors in MCA by adaptively adjusting the writing voltage to match an optimal amplitude. The architecture of parallel R-W circuit are outlined with the implementation of R-W processes. The design principles of parallel R-W unit, fast AAM unit, and associated control logic are described for analyzing their functions within the circuit. By integrating the parallel R-W circuit with MCA, a computing block is leveraged in a neural network for classification tasks. The experimental results demonstrate that the neural network with multiple computing blocks maintains high accuracy across various datasets (over 80%). Furthermore, the proposed AAM scheme achieves an average 54% reduction in writing time compared to that one without AAM scheme. Compared to the pulse-width scheme, the parallel R-W circuit exhibits an average 3.05× speedup in adjusting a 5×5 MCA, and the speedup efficiency is higher as the increases of MCA size. © 2025 IEEE.

Spartina alterniflora invasion enhances sediment nitrification processes in coastal wetland

Spartina alterniflora (S. alterniflora) invasion notably impacts sediment nitrogen (N) biogeochemical processes in coastal wetlands. However, its effects on different nitrification processes and their mechanisms in both surface (0–10 cm) and subsurface (10–20 cm) sediments remain unclear. Potential nitrification rates mediated by ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA), bacteria (AOB), and comammox Nitrospira (PARAOA, PARAOB, and comammox rates), their relative contributions, functional genes (AOA, AOB, and Ntsp-aomA), and controlling factors were investigated in both surface and subsurface sediments of native Cyperus malacensis and adjacent S. alterniflora-invaded habitats with varying years (6, 10, and 14 years) in the Minjiang River Estuary, China. These three nitrification rates varied both spatially and seasonally. Summer nitrification rates (5.57 ± 2.28 μg N g–1 d–1) in both surface (0–10 cm) and subsurface (10–20 cm) sediments of these ecosystems were substantially higher than winter levels (3.78 ± 1.76 μg N g–1 d–1). S. alterniflora invasion increased nitrification rates (39.54–68.13%) and associated functional gene abundances (28.08–52.92%) in both seasons, with surface sediments (118.40–153.85%) markedly showing higher values than subsurface layers (32.80–73.17%). Additionally, the relative contribution of PARAOA in nitrification exhibited a marked enhancement with the S. alterniflora invasion. PLS-PM results further indicated that the spatiotemporal fluctuations in sediment nitrification rates were predominantly driven by organic matter accumulation and ambient temperature. These findings highlight the substantial influence of S. alterniflora invasion on sediment nitrification dynamics, providing fundamental data for estimating N budgets and turnover in the estuarine wetlands.

In recent years, study of spatially structured light has become an attractive and promising area, providing more ways to explore unusual and anomalous effects in optics. Here, we propose a kind of polar-segmented vector optical field (VOF), and demonstrate anomalous focal properties. Due to the appearance of the longitudinal component in tight focusing processes, the transverse energy flow and transverse spin angular momentum (SAM) are achieved, which can be applied in areas such as manipulating particles, as the transverse energy can transport the particles and the SAM can spin the particles in more degrees. Overall, the proposed polar-segmented VOF and the corresponding anomalous focal properties are crucial for advancing theories and technologies in optics, underscoring its importance in both fundamental research and practical applications.

Evolutionary dynamics of behavioral motivations for cooperation

Human decision-making is shaped by underlying motivations, which reflect both subjective well-being and fundamental biological needs. Different needs are often prioritized and traded off against one another. Here we develop a theoretical framework to study the evolution of behavioral motivations, encompassing both philanthropic (cooperating after personal needs are met) and aspirational (cooperating to fulfill personal needs) motivations. Our findings show that when the ratio of benefits to costs for cooperation exceeds a critical threshold, individuals initially driven by aspirational motivations can transition to philanthropic motivations with a low reference point for cooperation, resulting in increased cooperation. Furthermore, the critical threshold depends on the structure of the underlying social network, with network modifications capable of reversing the evolutionary trajectory of motivations. Our results reveal the complex interplay between needs, motivations, social networks, and decision-making, offering insights into how evolution shapes not only cooperative behaviors but also the motivations behind them. © The Author(s) 2025.

Generation Maintenance Scheduling for Power systems Considering the Risk Quantification of Hybrid Uncertainty

The accurate quantification of risk caused by uncertainty forms a crucial foundation for formulating the generation maintenance scheduling (GMS) of power systems. However, the probability distribution functions (PDFs) of uncertain variables such as wind power and load are challenging to model accurately or are unknown, which makes it difficult to measure their economic risk and formulate appropriate GMS for power systems. To address this issue, we consider hybrid uncertainty from wind power and load, and propose a novel interval-probabilistic worst conditional value-at-risk (IP-WCVaR)-based generation maintenance scheduling method. Firstly, a novel IP-WCVaR method is proposed to measure the risk of the interval and probabilistic hybrid uncertainty, and the analytical mathematical model of the IP-WCVaR is derived through typical scenarios of probability correction. On this basis, the positive and negative spinning reserve models are established using the IP-WCVaR and then integrated into the GMS model, which enhances the resilience of the power system. Finally, the new risk-averse GMS model is formulated as the lower and upper boundary optimal models, which are transformed into tractable mixed integer linear programming problems based on the interval extreme value theory. The effectiveness and superiority of the proposed IP-WCVaR method are verified on the modified IEEE 24-bus and IEEE 118-bus power systems. © 1969-2012 IEEE.

In-situ Monitoring of Maximum and Average Chip Junction Temperature within Multichip IGBT Power Modules Using Kelvin Emitter Voltage

Parallel configurations of power chips within a multichip IGBT power module (M-IGBT-PM) are employed to meet the required current and power ratings. When the internal chips of an M-IGBT-PM experience uneven temperature distributions and package aging, it becomes challenging to determine the maximum and average temperatures of the chips within the module. This paper investigates the relationship between four transient thermal-sensitive electrical parameters (T-TSEPs) derived from the Kelvin emitter voltage and the chip junction temperature, while establishing relevant mathematical models. It compares the sensitivity and linearity of these four T-TSEPs, and also assesses the influence of external gate resistance, bus voltage, and load current on each of them. A key innovation in this paper is the proposal of a method for monitoring the maximum and average temperatures across the chips within the M-IGBT-PM, which is not influenced by the load current. The experimental results suggest that the temperature derived from the quasi-turn-on delay time is a good approximation of the maximum chip temperature, whereas the temperatures predicted by the other T-TSEPs are nearer to the average temperature. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper provides preliminary results on performance limitations for a class of discrete time Kleinman control systems whose open loop poles lie strictly outside the unit circle. By exploiting the properties of the Kleinman controllers and using of Mgebraic Riccati equation （ARE）, the relationship between total control energy of Kleinman control systems and the minimum energy needed to stabilize the open-loop systems is revealed. The result reflects how the horizon length of Kleinman controllers affects the performance of the closed-loop systems and quantifies how close the performance of Kleinman control systems is to the minimum energy.
