Spatial-Temporal Knowledge Transfer for Dynamic Constrained Multiobjective Optimization

Dynamic Constrained Multiobjective Optimization Problems (DCMOPs) are characterized by multiple conflicting optimization objectives and constraints that vary over time. The presence of both dynamism and constraints underscores the importance of preserving population diversity. This diversity is essential not only to escape local optima following environmental changes but also to climb infeasible barriers to approach feasible regions. However, existing constraint-handling techniques for enhancing solution feasibility could steer infeasible solutions toward partially feasible regions, potentially resulting in the loss of diversity. To maintain both diversity and feasibility, this work establishes two synergistic tasks: one task concentrates on exploring the unconstrained search space to preserve diversity, while the other delves into searching the constrained search space to prioritize feasibility. Particularly, in light of evolutionary transfer optimization, two knowledge transfer modules, i.e., the spatial knowledge transfer module and temporal knowledge transfer module are designed. The spatial knowledge transfer module facilitates knowledge transfer between the constrained and unconstrained search spaces to accelerate the exploration of both spaces. On the other hand, the temporal transfer module leverages historical knowledge to enhance search efficiency within the new environment. To advance the test suite toward real-world cases, we designed fourteen test problems with various properties. Experiments conducted on the proposed test problems and a real-world problem have demonstrated the efficacy of our proposed algorithm. IEEE

A compact broadband absorptive band rejection filter (ABSF) based on microstrip line is proposed. The filter consists of a pair of coupled wires and is loaded with a resistor. The coupling line of the filter has an open stub. The transmission zero point can be adjusted by adjusting the width of the coupling line. The center frequency can be adjusted by changing the length of the intermediate coupling line. Absorption performance can be achieved through loaded resistors. In this way, the signal not input in the filter will be dissipated in the filter and will not be reflected. When F0=3.8 GHz, 26% of the 20 dB bandwidth covers 3.15 GHz-4.2 GHz, the rejection depth of the stopband is less than-40 dB, and the in-band absorption is less than-10 dB. © 2020 Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper is dedicated to the numerical solution of a fourth-order singular perturbation problem using the interior penalty virtual element method (IPVEM) proposed in [42]. The study introduces modifications to the jumps and averages in the penalty term, as well as presents an automated mesh-dependent selection of the penalty parameter. Drawing inspiration from the modified Morley finite element methods, we leverage the conforming interpolation technique to handle the lower part of the bilinear form. Through our analysis, we establish optimal convergence in the energy norm and provide a rigorous proof of uniform convergence concerning the perturbation parameter in the lowest-order case. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

A Simple Single-Fed Penta-Band Omnidirectional Antenna with Independent Band Control

A novel method of designing a penta-band omnidirectional low-profile antenna with independent band control is proposed. Single-band, dual-band, tri-band, quad-band, and penta-band antennas are investigated, respectively. The proposed penta-band antenna consists of a circular patch, three concentric metal pins, and two square metal plates. The evolutionary step of the penta-band antenna is achieved by adding metal rings and a small metal plate above the big ground. Each of the four metal rings is excited at TM01 mode resonance, while the 5th mode is generated by a small loop resonance formed by the small plate, shorting pin, stub, and the outer conductor of the cable. The penta-band antenna has a small volume of π × (0.109λ1.53GHz)2 × 0.053λ1.53GHz. The corresponding impedance bandwidths (IMBWs) of the five operating bands are 4.9%, 9.4%, 9.0%, 4.8%, 5.0%. Compared with other designs, the proposed antennas exhibit more flexible bands by using a simple structure. Meanwhile, the antenna has a stable omnidirectional radiation pattern across the five bands and a compact size. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

In this paper, Q-value theory of conventional antennas is used to analyze reasons of low radiation performance of acoustics promoted antennas, where we modify the radiating structure of existing acoustics promoting antenna using the simulations to get the required improvement on radiation performance. The simulation experiments are carried out in the finite element simulation software Comsol Multiphysics to analyze the radiating performance.

The local community detection (LCD) method can discover the local community structure in which the seed node is located. Compared with global community detection, local community detection is characterized by its low cost and high efficiency. However, most existing LCD methods only return a non-overlapping community. Individuals in the real world may participate in multiple communities, which can only be discovered by using overlapping local community detection methods. In this study, an overlapping local community detection algorithm based on modularity and node transitivity. First, the scope and structure information of the overlapping communities are obtained according to the node transitivity. Second, NMF is used to obtain the number of overlapping communities. Finally, the local modularity density based on edge weights is used to refine the detected local communities. The experimental results validate the high performance of our method to the other method in comparison. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In the era of big data, traditional relational databases face challenges in massive data storage. HBase is a non-relational database based on column storage which is used widely for big data storage. The writing performance of HBase is high, but the unbalanced load caused by its uneven data storage strategy is the bottleneck of its reading performance. HBase needs to access disks to get query results. Therefore, the efficiency of disk access has a great impact on the query performance of HBase. In view of the above problems, this paper proposes a storage middleware which utilizes HBase for load balancing and Redis for memory caching. Specifically, we improve HBase’s original load balancing algorithm for Regions and RegionServers and customize a Redis cache eviction algorithm according to the data’s query and update frequency. Furthermore, the coprocessor of HBase is used to synchronize data between HBase and Redis. Experiments on synthetic datasets show that the proposed storage middleware achieves better writing and reading performance than HBase. The load balancing algorithm employed in the middleware is better than HBase's original algorithm. The hit rate of the customized cache eviction algorithm is also higher than that of the LRU algorithm. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

An X-band CMOS low noise amplifier (LNA) with flat gain and noise Figure (NF) is proposed in this paper. To achieve sufficient gain, the LNA adopts two-stage topology. A feed-back transformer is used at the input terminal to implement noise and wideband input matching. Transformer-based inter-stage and output matching networks are adopted to achieve well isolation and compact size. By introducing inductive peaking technique, the proposed LNA obtain lower NF and extend the bandwidth. Post simulation results show that the LNA achieves a gain of 14.6± 2dB and NF of 2. 5-3.3dB across a bandwidth from 8.5 GHz to 12.5 GHz. With the supply voltage of 1 V at the first stage and 1.8 V at the second stage, the dc power dissipation is 20.8 mW. The simulated input 1dB compression point ($\mathrm{P}_{\mathrm{l}\mathrm{d}\mathrm{B}}$) is -27.3dBm. The core chip area is only 0.41× 0.87mm 2 .

Clustering algorithms aim at gathering similar data points from a dataset in an unsupervised manner. Although the batch clustering algorithms have relatively high accuracy, they cannot make use of the dynamic clustering results efficiently. The requirement of using the whole dataset in calculation results in the problems of resource waste and high time cost. On the contrary, incremental clustering only needs to update the varied part of a model upon the arrival of new data, which makes it unnecessary to recluster the whole data all the time. The feature is very suitable for the streaming data process, but it decreases the accuracy of the algorithms and cannot satisfy the low latency requirement of real-time data processing. In response to this problem, the paper proposes a novel unified batch and streaming clustering model (UBSCM) based on streaming computation, which includes a streaming cluster feature updating mechanism (SCFUM). The Flink framework is used to implement a new streaming KMeans algorithm based on UBSCM (KMeansUBSP). The experiments on the real-world datasets validate that the new streaming KMeans algorithm is effective in clustering the batch and streaming data in a unified manner. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

While image-to-text models have demonstrated significant advancements in various vision-language tasks, they remain susceptible to adversarial attacks. Existing white-box attacks on image-to-text models require access to the architecture, gradients, and parameters of the target model, resulting in low practicality. Although the recently proposed gray-box attacks have improved practicality, they suffer from semantic loss during the training process, which limits their targeted attack performance. To advance adversarial attacks of image-to-text models, this paper focuses on a challenging scenario: decision-based black-box targeted attacks where the attackers only have access to the final output text and aim to perform targeted attacks. Specifically, we formulate the decision-based black-box targeted attack as a large-scale optimization problem. To efficiently solve the optimization problem, a three-stage process Ask, Attend, Attack, called AAA, is proposed to coordinate with the solver. Ask guides attackers to create target texts that satisfy the specific semantics. Attend identifies the crucial regions of the image for attacking, thus reducing the search space for the subsequent Attack. Attack uses an evolutionary algorithm to attack the crucial regions, where the attacks are semantically related to the target texts of Ask, thus achieving targeted attacks without semantic loss. Experimental results on transformer-based and CNN+RNN-based image-to-text models confirmed the effectiveness of our proposed AAA.
