This paper introduces a domain Spatio-Temporal consistency (STeC) language for the application domain of space-air-ground integrated networks. The STeC language is taken as the foundation of modeling our systems, bacause it works well on specifying real-time systems concerning not only the time characteristic but also the location characteristic and the consistency between them. In this paper, a domain-STeC language is devised and applied to model satellite observation processes. We use two tools to check and verify this STeC model, the syntax and spatio-temporal consistency were checked in STeC tool, and after being transformed into timed automata model, some further verification can be finished in UPPAAL tool. It shows that the instantiated STeC approach is suitable for modeling and verifying space-air-ground integrated networks on the requirement level. This work helps to ensure the spatial-temporal consistency in that application domain, and increases the reliability and dependability of our system.

The software trustworthiness measurement is an essential research subject in trustworthy software. software trustworthiness measurement validation can show whether the measurement is adequate for measuring the software trustworthiness. There are many research results in software trustworthiness measurement validation. In this paper, we survey software trustworthiness measurement theoretical validation and empirical validation. The research states of software trustworthiness measurement theoretical validation are summarized from the view of validation based on measurement theory and validation based on axiomatic approaches, and state-of-the-art empirical validation methods are studied through case studies, surveys, and experiments. Lastly, we analyze the challenges faced in software trustworthiness measurement validation. © 2018 Totem Publisher, Inc. All rights reserved.

We present a new dynamic window approach (DWA) for mobile vehicles equipped with Ackermann steering geometry that adheres to Ackermann kinematic constraints. By integrating these constraints with the sampling window in DWA, we can further reduce and bound the sampling range and enhance the efficiency of the DWA when a mobile vehicle moves on sandy terrain. Furthermore, we improve the evaluation function to optimize the selected trajectory. Our algorithm is successfully validated in ROS and Gazebo through comparison with other existing local planner such as the original DWA and TEB algorithms. We also successfully deploy our Bounded-DWA in the application of coverage path planning, where tree-planting robots traverse on sandy terrain.

Internet of Things (IoT) or Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) is a new trend of real-time systems in the area of information technology. This paper introduces a spatiotemporal consistence language for real-time systems (Shortly, STeC). The consistence requires that a process do its tasks at the required location or time. Thus, this language provides a location-triggered specification for real-time systems. The interaction between real-time agents deals with agent2agent communications. STeC looks like an extension of precess algebra CSP. But, the execution-time of actions and status of agents are stressed. Two kinds of interrupts time and interaction break are considered. Following the Dijkstra's guard style, nondeterministic choice phase guarded by communications is introduced. After setting up the syntax, its operational semantics is introduced. As an example, the railroad crossing problem is specified in terms of this language STeC.

The heterogeneous multicore system integrated with FPGA is a kind of Multi-Processor Systems-on-Chip(MPSoC) that can achieve both efficiency and flexibility. FPGA uses hardware resource instead of instruction sets to process tasks. The resource on FPGA is limited which should be considered when scheduling tasks. We propose a static task scheduling algorithm targeting this kind of system. The aim is to minimize the executing time of an application as well as considering FPGA resource limit. In our genetic algorithm-based method, a chromosome consists of computing units where tasks are assigned. When generating the initial population, some tasks are assigned to FPGA, considering FPGA resource limit. We have modified the crossover operator and mutation operator to ensure that the FPGA resource used implied in chromosomes will not exceed the FPGA resource limit. Task scheduling is completed in the chromosome evaluation stage. Through the genetic algorithm, the improved task assignment and schedule sequence are obtained. The experiments on random graph applications and two real-world applications show that our method has achieved better performance than existing works.

Vibration fault detection becomes increasingly used for economical and safety reasons. However, current research reveals some problems such as low accuracy of fault detection, few effective in-depth calculation of vibration data and few flexible architectures in that area. In this paper, a vibration fault detection Cyber-Physical System (CPS)with service support (S-VFDCPS) is presented. From the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) point of view, S-VFDCPS consists of enterprise level, gateway level and endpoint level, with relevant vibration detection services on each level. From the Cyber-Physical system (CPS) point of view, it contains three layers: the monitoring and control layer, the network layer and the device layer. Data processing algorithms and services are proposed quantifying the criteria of fault evaluation. It is shown by testing results that our proposed approach and the improvement in design make S-VFDCPS more flexible and accurate in real-time vibration fault detection.

Facial expression recognition (FER) has recently made great process with attention mechanisms. However, existing methods mostly treat the network as a black box and ignore the causal relationship between modules. In this paper, we propose a flipping consistent and counterfactual attention network (FCCAN), which innovatively uses two causal inferences to guide the learning process. First, we construct an attention network with a multi-head attention learning (MAL) module to learn attention for different local features. Then, we measure and improve the quality of each component with causal reasoning. According to the consistency of features from flipped images, we design flipping consistency learning (FCL) module to force the network to extract comprehensive expression features. Based on counterfactual causality, we propose counterfactual attention learning (CAL) module to encourage the network to learn more effective attention. Extensive experiments implemented on FER datasets (including RAF-DB, FERPlus and AffectNet) show that our FCCAN outperforms state-of-the-art methods.

Automatic video seizure detection can assist in the diagnosis of seizures. Existing works usually rely on the information of single granularity for learning seizure patterns and the performance of these works is often constrained by the limited annotated data. To overcome these problems, we introduce a multi-granularity information flow method to enhance skeleton-based infant seizure detection from different perspectives. A forward-backward consistency constraint is proposed to use the reverse temporal sequences as augmented data, helping make better predictions. Besides, an importance-aware module is proposed to adaptively pay more attention to important frames. Experimental results indicate that our method can improve the performance of seizure detection and achieve high performance with a relatively low amount of parameters. © 2023 IEEE.

As a standardized software framework and open E/E system architecture, the AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR) has been widely applied to autonomous driving systems to enable real-time control. However, due to the increasing design complexity and the lack of efficient algorithms and design automation tools, it is difficult to quickly figure out an optimal task scheduling scheme for an AUTOSAR-based system. To address this problem, we introduce a novel task scheduling method that can parallelly search for an optimal solution with the help of our proposed pruning strategy. Experimental results on a real-world AUTOSAR-based autonomous driving system demonstrate that our approach can achieve much better task scheduling solutions than the ones obtained manually and significantly reduce the overall task scheduling time. © 2023 IEEE.

Mobile devices have become ubiquitous in daily life. In contrast to traditional servers, mobile devices suffer from limited memory resources, leading to a significant degradation in the user experience. This paper demonstrates that the primary cause of memory consumption lies in anonymous pages associated with application heaps. Existing schemes are ineffective in deduplicating these pages due to the limited occurrence of the same anonymous pages. This paper presents Sparrow, a similar-page aware deduplication solution for mobile systems. Sparrow shows that memory pages still have the potential to deduplicate, even though the same pages are rare. An interesting observation inspires this, that is, a high number of pages having the partially-same contents. We have implemented Sparrow on real-life smartphones. Experimental results indicate that 30.45% more space can be saved with Sparrow.
