Intrusion detection plays an important role in ensuring network information security. Traditional machine learning technology does not work well enough with massive data and various intrusion classes, and detection accuracy turns unsatisfied with unknown intrusions. This paper proposes a new network intrusion detection model (conv1d-GRU) that combines one-dimensional convolution and GRU for multi-class intrusion detection scenarios, and improves data imbalance by weighting the samples of each category. NSL-KDD as an improved version of the KDD CUP99 dataset is selected for our intrusion detection system. Experimental results on this dataset show that the proposed deep learning method is superior to present intrusion detection methods based on machine learning and deep learning, and has better feature representation learning and classification capabilities. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Vibration fault detection becomes increasingly used for economical and safety reasons. However, current research reveals some problems such as low accuracy of fault detection, few effective in-depth calculation of vibration data and few flexible architectures in that area. In this paper, a vibration fault detection Cyber-Physical System (CPS)with service support (S-VFDCPS) is presented. From the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) point of view, S-VFDCPS consists of enterprise level, gateway level and endpoint level, with relevant vibration detection services on each level. From the Cyber-Physical system (CPS) point of view, it contains three layers: the monitoring and control layer, the network layer and the device layer. Data processing algorithms and services are proposed quantifying the criteria of fault evaluation. It is shown by testing results that our proposed approach and the improvement in design make S-VFDCPS more flexible and accurate in real-time vibration fault detection. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a localization algorithm framework for wireless sensor networks (WSNs) based on cluster implementation. The algorithm addresses the issue of information locality in traditional distributed localization algorithms by utilizing clustering. In contrast to centralized algorithms, this algorithm achieves a more balanced node energy consumption without the need for additional special nodes. Through clustering, nodes pass appropriate information to their targets, and through optimizations within and between clusters, relatively accurate location information is obtained. After multiple rounds of clustering-localization iterations, the accuracy of node localization significantly improves. Importantly, simulation results demonstrate that the algorithm can adapt to various deployment scenarios by adjusting clustering parameters to balance energy consumption and localization accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

The popular single-factor complexity measure cannot comprehensively reflect program complexity and the existing hybrid complexity measure cannot express the interactive behaviors of programs. To treat these problems, in this paper, we propose a complexity measure based on program slicing（CMBPS）. CMPBS not only can evaluate factors which affect program complexity such as the length of the program, control flow, data flow and data types of output variables, but also can give expression of the interactive relation between programs. And we also prove that CMBPS satisfies all of Weyuker properties. compared with the popular complexity measures, CMBPS is a well-structured complexity measure.

In the modern clinical diagnosis, the 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) signal has proved effective in cardiac arrhythmias classification. However, the manual diagnosis for cardiac arrhythmias is tedious and error-prone through ECG signals. In this work, we propose an end-to-end deep neural network called attention-based Res-BiLSTM-Net for automatic diagnosis of cardiac arrhythmias. Our model is capable of classifying ECG signals with different lengths. The proposed network consists of two parts: the attention-based Resnet and the attention-based BiLSTM. At first, ECG signals are divided into several signal segments with the same length. Then multi-scale features are extracted by our attention-based Resnet through signal segments. Next, these multi-scale features from a same ECG signal are integrated in chronological order. In the end, our attention-based BiLSTM classifies cardiac arrhythmias according to combined features. Our method achieved a good result with an average F1score of 0.8757 on a multi-label arrhythmias classification problem in the First China ECG Intelligent competition. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Timed-pNets： a communication behavioural semantic model for distributed systems

This paper presents an approach to build a communication behavioural semantic model for heterogeneous distributed systems that include synchronous and asynchronous communications. Since each node of such system has its own physical clock, it brings the challenges of correctly specifying the system time constraints. Based on the logical clocks proposed by Lamport, and CCSL proposed by Aoste team in INRIA, as well as pNets from Oasis team in INRIA, we develop timed-pNets to model communication behaviours for distributed systems. Timed-pNets are tree style hierarchical structures. Each node is associated with a timed specification which consists of a set of logical clocks and some relations on clocks. The leaves are represented by timed-pLTSs. Non-leaf nodes （called timed-pNets nodes） are synchronisation devices that synchronize the behaviours of subnets （these subnets can be leaves or non-leaf nodes）. Both timed-pLTSs and timed-pNets nodes can be translated to timed specifications. All these notions and methods are illustrated on a simple use-case of car insertion from the area of intelligent transportation systems （ITS）. In the end the TimeSquare tool is used to simulate and check the validity of our model.

Sea transportation has become the principal mode of transportation. It is of great significance to accurately predict the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of the liner carriage. This paper proposes a model based on deep learning algorithm to deal with liner arrival time prediction in sea transportation. Two data cleaning algorithms and one data enhancement algorithm are presented, with data cleaning effectively cleaning the GPS data generated by the liner and data enhancement increasing the diversity of data samples. A method based on deep learning to predict liner arrival time is provided, using the Factorization Machine (FM) model to generate second-order crossover features, and grouped convolution and attention mechanisms to enhance the representation ability of the model. Experiments show that the method proposed control the prediction error better than traditional machine learning models. © 2021 IEEE

In this paper, we investigate a green federated learning (FL) framework over cloud radio access network (Cloud-RAN) system that comprises a server, multiple devices and remote radio heads (RRHs). Each device utilizes quantized neural networks (QNNs) and sends quantized model parameters to the server to save energy consumption via RRHs. The server aggregates all the signals to update the global model parameters and broadcasts the updated parameters to the selected devices. In this context, we propose an energy consumption model for the QNN training and communication model over Cloud-RAN. We develop an energy minimization problem based on the proposed energy model. We jointly design fronthaul rate allocation, device transmit power, and precision level of QNNs while ensuring target accuracy, transmit power budget and limited fronthaul capacity. Guided by the convergence analysis, we adopt alternative optimization method to solve the energy minimization problem. The simulation outcomes demonstrate that the FL framework suggested can considerably diminish energy usage in comparison to other traditional methods. This has immense potential in realizing a sustainable and eco-friendly FL over Cloud-RAN. © 2023 IEEE.

With the large-scale application of machine learning in various fields, the security of models has attracted great attention. Recent studies have shown that tree-based models are vulnerable to adversarial examples. This problem may cause serious security risks. It is important to verify the safety of models. In this paper, we study the robustness verification problem of Random Forests (RF) which is a fundamental machine learning technique. We reduce the verification problem of an RF model into a constraint solving problem solved by modern SMT solvers. Then we present a novel method based on the minimal unsatisfiable core to explain the robustness over a sample. Furthermore, we propose an algorithm for measuring Local Robustness Feature Importance (LRFI). The LRFI builds a link between the features and the robustness. It can identify which features are more important for providing robustness of the model. We have implemented these methods into a tool named VARF. We evaluate VARF on two public datasets, demonstrating its scalability and ability to verify large models. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Internet of Things (IoT) or Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) is a new trend of real-time systems in the area of information technology. This paper introduces a spatiotemporal consistence language for real-time systems (Shortly, STeC). The consistence requires that a process do its tasks at the required location or time. Thus, this language provides a location-triggered specification for real-time systems. The interaction between real-time agents deals with agent2agent communications. STeC looks like an extension of precess algebra CSP. But, the execution-time of actions and status of agents are stressed. Two kinds of interrupts time and interaction break are considered. Following the Dijkstra's guard style, nondeterministic choice phase guarded by communications is introduced. After setting up the syntax, its operational semantics is introduced. As an example, the railroad crossing problem is specified in terms of this language STeC. © 2012 IEEE.
