Since programmable logic controllers (PLCs) control safety-critical infrastructures, examining the PLC software satisfies the high-reliability specifications necessary to ensure the safeness of PLCs. However, prior works have limitations in finding defects in the PLC source code. Static verification techniques suffer from notable false positives without capturing runtime behavior. The symbolic execution and conformance testing technique captures the relations of inputs and outputs. It is not sufficient to consider only the data constraints as the PLC operates in real-time. In this paper, we propose a novel approach in the detection of the runtime behavior of PLC programs with incorporated time constraints. This testing approach automatically finds implementation errors in PLC programs by mining invariants from runtime traces. As the existing tools mine only data or time invariants which are inadequate to test PLC programs, our approach focuses on the interplay of data and time invariants. Dynamically detected data-time invariants are then checked with the safety specifications. We evaluate the usefulness of our approach in a real-life case. Next-generation sequencing technologies generated a large number of new sequenced proteins. Classifying these proteins into functional families is an important task in the field of biological protein property research. The high-cost and time-consuming drawbacks of bioassays promote the development of machine learning-based protein classification studies. However, previous work only used single level features, which were not informative enough and had classification bias. In this paper, we propose a new model named PCNM to alleviate the above problems. Different from previous work that extracts only a single level of features, the PCNM model uses a convolutional Neural Network (CNN) module and a Global and Local feature (GL) module to extract feature at three levels: conserved domains, amino acids, and protein sequences. The experimental results of the Phages of orthologous groups dataset (POG) and the G-protein coupled receptor superfamily dataset (GPCR) show that our proposed PCNM outperforms currently available methods in five metrics: accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, and MCC. PCNM achieves a high accuracy of 85.12% on the GPCR sub-subfamily dataset and 81.42% on the POG dataset. The robustness experiments of PCNM further demonstrate that the model alleviates the classification bias. © 2022 IEEE.

The technology of Ethereum blockchain enables the implementation of smart contracts. Nowadays smart contracts are one of the most successful applications of blockchain technology, which are widely used in many fields, such as finance, energy and services. The decentralization and immutability properties of Ethereum blockchain provide security for transactions from smart contracts. However, these properties are possible to lead to unfixable vulnerabilities of smart contracts. In recent years, vulnerability detection on smart contracts has attracted more attention from researchers and many related tools have emerged. Nevertheless, the existing vulnerability detection tools have not yet been put into formal use. Due to the lack of suitable smart contract sets and fair metrics with other factors, it remains complex work to conduct authoritative performance tests on these tools. In this paper, we first summarize eight common vulnerabilities of smart contracts, and then divide them into call-related and call-irrelated vulnerabilities according to whether they involve caller functions or not. In addition, we propose a detection framework called SuperDetector, which combines a variety of vulnerability detection tools based on static analysis technology. And the framework mainly measures the detection performance, which contains vulnerability coverage, detection accuracy, usability and execution time on the two types of vulnerabilities. The results indicate that the framework can analyze the performance from different perspectives, and the performance of vulnerability coverage and detection accuracy on call-related vulnerabilities is much better than that on call-irrelated vulnerabilities. Finally, we design a selector based on the detection results in the framework for improving the vulnerability coverage and detection accuracy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper studies a coalgebraic theory of fuzzy transition systems. Main conclusions include: the functor FA for deterministic fuzzy transition systems and the functor (Pa°F)A for nondeterministic fuzzy transition systems preserve weak pullbacks, and the functor FA has a final coalgebra under some restricted conditions. Based on the ZYNQ platform, this paper proposes a hardware/software co-design approach, and implements a binocular stereo vision system with high real-time performance and good human-computer interaction, which can be used to assist advanced driver assistance systems to improve driving safety. combining the application characteristics of binocular stereo vision, the approach firstly modularizes the system’s functions to perform hardware/software partitioning, accelerates the data processing on FPGA, and performs the data control on ARM cores;then uses the ARM instruction set to configure the registers within FPGA to design relevant interfaces to complete the data interaction between hardware and software;finally, combines the implementation of specific algorithms and logical control to complete the binocular stereo vision system. The test results show that the frame rate with an image resolution of 640 * 480 can reach 121.43 frames per second when the FPGA frequency is 100M, and the frame rate is also high for large resolution images. At the same time, the system can achieve real-time display and human-computer interaction with the control of the graphical user interface. © 2019, ICST Institute for computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering.

Federated learning(FL) enables multiple partici-pants to build a common, robust machine learning model without sharing data, which is a key technique to address data privacy, security, access rights, and access to heterogeneous data. However, existing FL algorithms still fall short of expectations in unsupervised learning and Non-iid data, which are two major challenges that limit the applicability and accuracy. For example, the lack of data labels or skewed feature distributions leads to loss of representativeness of the model, at the same time, tagging client data will increase a lot of costs in real application scenarios, therefore, supervised federated learning greatly limits the applicability of FL. In this paper, we propose a new unsupervised FL algorithm Fedco. In particular, at the parameter aggregation phase, we apply the momentum update queue to improve the training performance, enhance the model accuracy, and lower the labeling costs. At the local client training phase, the common queue that could be regarded as a big dictionary solve the data heterogeneity. The experiment on the benchmark data set shows that our method can be compared to other supervised and semi-supervised federated learning models, which proves the effectiveness of Fedco. © 2022 IEEE.

Automated driving object detection has always been a challenging task in computer vision due to environmental uncertainties. These uncertainties include significant differences in object sizes and encountering the class unseen. It may result in poor performance when traditional object detection models are directly applied to automated driving detection. Because they usually presume fixed categories of common traffic participants, such as pedestrians and cars. Worsely, the huge class imbalance between common and novel classes further exacerbates performance degradation. To address the issues stated, we propose OpenNet to moderate the class imbalance with the Balanced Loss, which is based on Cross Entropy Loss. Besides, we adopt an inductive layer based on gradient reshaping to fast learn new classes with limited samples during incremental learning. To against catastrophic forgetting, we employ normalized feature distillation. By the way, we improve multi-scale detection robustness and unknown class recognition through FPN and energy-based detection, respectively. The Experimental results upon the coDA dataset show that the proposed method can obtain better performance than that of the existing methods. © 2023 IEEE.

The new video coding algorithm H.265 achieved twice compression rate than the prevailing H.264, but the encoding speed is reduced several times, making it difficult for the real-Time applications such as video surveillance and remote meeting. In this paper, we design a parallel intra-frame mode decision architecture based on FPGA to accelerate the coding. We prove that the mode decision problem of multi-level large coding unit of H.265 can be transformed into the accumulation of multiple single-level small coding unit mode decision. Furthermore, we design how mode decision is accelerated by fine-grained parallelism within coding unit, and pipelining among coding units, then implement them on FPGA. The experimental results show that the proposed architecture achieves maximum 93.6\times acceleration compare with the ARM A53 platform, with an insignificant loss of video quality. © 2020 IEEE.
