This paper proposes an articulated pose estimation method based on DeepPose, improving it's estimation accuracy. Firstly, it analyzes and compares the advantages and disadvantages of Faster Rcnn and DeepPose in the field of articulated pose estimation, proposes the R-Optimization algorithm to reajust joints' bounding box properly. Secondly, through combining DeepPose and Faster Rcnn, an improved articulated pose estimation method is proposed, which is better than using DeepPose or Faster Rcnn separately. © by the International Institute of Informatics and Systemics.

In recent years, the Deep Neural Network (DNN) has been successfully used in image classification. Most of existing DNN often need to learn a very large set of parameters, which require a huge amount of computational resources and time to train these model parameters using the gradient descent and back-propagation procedure. To solve this issue, the PCANet has been developed for high efficient design and training of the DNN. compared with traditional DNN, PCANet has simpler structure and better performance, which makes it attractive for hardware design. To overcome the limitations of PCANet and significantly improve its performance, we have proposed a novel model named constrained High Dispersal Network (CHDNet) which is a variant of PCANet. In this paper, we implement the CHDNet on the Xilinx ZYNQ FPGA to ensure the instantaneity of the system with lower power than personal computer needed by taking advantage of the algorithmic parallelism and ZYNQ architecture. Our experimental results over two major datasets, the MNIST dataset for handwritten digits recognition, and the Extended Yale B dataset for face recognition, demonstrate that our model of implementation on FPGA is more than 15x faster than software implementation on PC (Intel i7-4720HQ, 2.6GHz).

AdaRate: A rate-adaptive traffic measurement method in software defined networks

Traffic measurement is the basis of analysis and prediction of network traffic. Its accuracy directly affects the reliability of upper applications. This paper proposes a rate-adaptive traffic measurement method called AdaRate. It adjusts the polling period according to fluctuations of flow rates which is calculated with a sliding window queue. We noticed that some fluctuations of flow rates may be dropped in AdaRate while the polling period is too long. Then we propose RAdaRate. It adjusts the polling period according to AdaRate or sets the polling period to minimum randomly. We compared the performance of AdaRate and RAdaRate with SWT in CeMon and Payless in Mininet when monitoring those VBR flows with frequent and large fluctuation. The results show that the accuracy of RAdaRate is the best while the overhead of AdaRate is the least. The overhead of AdaRate is 68.75% less than periodic polling. © 2017 Totem Publisher, Inc. Internet of Things (IoT) and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) have become important topics in both theory and industry. In some application domains, such as when specifying the behaviour of precision mechanics, we need to include features of spatial-temporal consistency. How to model probabilistic real-time systems in such domains is a challenge. This paper presents a modelling formalism, called PSTeC, for describing the behaviour of probabilistic real-time systems focusing on spatial-temporal consistency with nondeterministic, probabilistic and real-time aspects. The consistency restricts a process to start and finish at the required location and time. communications between agents is specified by interactive actions. The language we propose is an extension of STeC, which is a specification language for location-aware real-time systems, adding probabilistic operations so as to support the incorporation of probabilistic aspects. We first give a formal definition of the syntax for PSTeC, then focus on the details of its operational semantics, which maps a PSTeC term onto a Probabilistic Spatial-Temporal Transition System (PSTTS) following the structured operational semantics style. A simple example demonstrates the expressiveness of PSTeC. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.

In this paper, we focus on investigation of the predicate transformer semantics of the contract language introduced by Back and von Wright in their book titled as “Refinement Calculus: A Systematic Introduction” (Springer-Verlag, New York, 1998) in the framework of fuzziness. In order to define fuzzy operations, i.e., fuzzy logic connectives, we take into account implicator → and its associated based on residuated lattice theory. Based on these basic fuzzy operations, we introduce the angelic and demonic updates of fuzzy relations. They are the basis of fuzzy predicate transformers in the sense of that any strongly monotone fuzzy predicate transformer can be represented as the sequential composition of the angelic and demonic updates. Together with the standard strong negation , we set up the duality between the angel and demon. The fuzzy predicate transformers semantics of contract statements is established and a simple example of contract statements is given.

Due to the outstanding problems of software trustworthiness, the measurement of software trustworthiness has aroused more and more concern. However, few researches pay attention to using more rigorous approaches in the measurement of software trustworthiness and carrying out the theoretical validation of measures. Axiomatic approaches by formally defining the desirable properties of the measures for software attributes can provide precise, formal, and unambiguous terms for the quantification of software attributes. We once applied axiomatic approaches to the measured software trustworthiness, presented four properties for software trustworthiness measures and gave three measures for software trustworthiness. In this paper, we propose a new property-related user expectation to establish an improved software trustworthiness measure and validate this measure from the theory point of view by proving that it complies with the five properties presented by us. A comparative study shows that this measure is better than the popular software trustworthiness measures in terms of our properties. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group.

in recent years, mobile phone sensing applications has been regarded as new paradigm to obtain ubiquitous environment data. research on motivating smart phone users to participate in mobile sensing contributing their resources and maximizing the profit of platform is in full swing. Unfortunately, the location-based optimal task assignment problem in mobile sensing is an NP-hard problem. We transform the problem to the maximum weight independent set problem (MWIS) and proposed a polynomial-time approximation scheme (PTAS) to approximate this problem in the intersection graph models. We conducted the simulation experiment and it turns out that the practical performance of the proposed near optimal task assignment algorithm corroborates the theoretical analysis.

Tongue diagnosis is one of the main components of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Developing an objective and quantitative recognition model is very importantly and useful in the modernization of TCM. Currently, major problems in digital diagnoses of tongue images are extracting suitable features and building a high-performance classifier. To address these two issues, we present a robust approach to infer the pathological characteristics. In contrast to other methods, this method makes full use of the local information of tongue images and similarities among tongue images. Our method includes the following three steps: (1) we exact HOG features based on theory of local object appearance and shape; (2) the most similar tongue images are found that belongs to the same label and belongs to the different label, which are then used to build a new sample for Doublet; (3) we calculate the distance metric M by the SVM classifier and doublets; and (4) we make prediction. Experimental results show that prediction accuracy of our method is 89.1% and achieves a specificity of 61.3%. Moreover, the Sensitivity is 95.8%. The work is helpful in the area of medical for detection and prevention of diseases.

Cyber-Physical System (CPS, shortly) is a fusion systems of computing and physical processes. It is a highly integration of computation, communication and control in the framework of networked embedded system. In this paper, we analyze the concept and feature of CPS and propose a graphical hierarchical architecture for CPS. It is a graphic network structure within the same layer and a hierarchical tree structure among the layers. Then, we give several classical cases such as internet of vehicles, space-air-ground integrated networks and wireless sensor nets to address this new CPS architecture available. Finally, we use the interactive model between the vehicle and the smart traffic light as an example of model building, and analyze the spatio-temporal consistence of the interactive units in term with the simulation tool based on the STeC language.

Probabilistic Model-Checking is a standard approach for automatically verifying stochastic systems. However, it becomes expensive or even intractable for classic approaches to verify complex systems. Statistical model-checking was proposed to overcome this limitation. In this paper, we propose a novel statistical model-checking approach which is based on Bayesian point estimation. Together with the Bayesian point estimation and a given conjugate prior distribution, we are able to predict the upper bound of sample size before sampling. We implement our techniques in a tool. Experiential results show that our approach is competitive, even better than other standard approaches in several cases.
