The 3-layer workflow scheduling model consist of front layer, outside scheduling layer and inside scheduling layer, it can describe the task scheduling more clearly than conventional models. This paper mainly discusses the improved Dijkstra algorithm with multi-precondition, which is the core of this model, converts the classical Dijkstra algorithm into an useful way to calculate the shortest path in weighted directed graph with multi-precondition. The experiment proved out the 3-layer workflow scheduling model based on improved Dijkstra algorithm an efficient model. ©2009 IEEE.

The equalization-cancellation (EC) model has been extensively studied for expressing binaural masking level difference (BMLD) in psychoacoustics. Few research focuses on applying this psychoacoustic model to speech processing applications, such as speech enhancement. In this paper, we propose a two-stage binaural speech enhancement with Wiener filter (TS-BASE/WF) based on the EC model. In this proposed TS-BASE/WF, interfering signals are first estimated by equalizing and cancelling the target signal based on the EC model, and a time-variantWiener filter is then applied to enhance the target signal given noisy mixture signals. The main advantages of the proposed TS-BASE/WF are: (1) effectiveness in dealing with non-stationary multiple-source interfering signals;(2) success in localizing the target sound source after processing. These advantages were confirmed by comprehensive experiments in different spatial scenarios in terms of speech enhancement and sound localization. ©2009 IEEE.

We study both classical and quantum relation between two Hamiltonian systems which are mutually connected by time-dependent canonical transformation. One is ordinary conservative system and the other is timedependent Hamiltonian system. The quantum unitary operator relevant to classical canonical transformation between the two systems are obtained through rigorous evaluation. With the aid of the unitary operator, we have derived quantum states of the time-dependent Hamiltonian system through transforming the quantum states of the conservative system. The invariant operators of the two systems are presented and the relation between them are addressed. We showed that there exist numerous Hamiltonians, which gives the same classical equation of motion. Though it is impossible to distinguish the systems described by these Hamiltonians within the realm of classical mechanics, they can be distinguishable quantum mechanically.

In Internet, IP multicast has been used successfully to provide an efficient, best-effort delivery service for group communication applications. However, applications such as multiparty private conference, distribution of stock market information, pay per view and other subscriber services require secure multicast to protect integrity and confidentiality of the group traffic, and validate group member's authenticity. Providing secure multicast for group communication is problematic without a robust group key management. In this paper, we propose an anonymous group key management with ID-based Signature and secret sharing technologies to distribute a new group key securely to each participant of a group with only one rekey message whenever the group membership changes. The key management guarantees that a legal user, without revealing his/her real identity, can join a group after finishing the mutual authentication with the group initiator, and enforces the forward secrecy and backward secrecy.

Argumentation is a process that occurs often in ill-defined domains and that helps deal with the illdefinedness. Typically a notion of "correctness" for an argument in an ill-defined domain is impossible to define or verify formally because the underlying concepts are open-textured and the quality of the argument may be subject to discussion or even expert disagreement. Previous research has highlighted the advantages of graphical representations for learning argumentation skills. A number of intelligent tutoring systems have been built that support students in rendering arguments graphically, as they learn argumentation skills. The relative instructional benefits of graphical argument representations have not been reliably shown, however. In this paper we present a formative evaluation of LARGO (Legal ARgument Graph Observer), a system that enables law students graphically to represent examples of legal interpretation with hypotheticals they observe while reading texts of U.S. Supreme Court oral arguments. We hypothesized that, compared to a text-based alternative, LARGO's diagramming language geared toward depicting hypothetical reasoning processes, coupled with non-directive feedback, helps students better extract the important information from argument transcripts and better learn argumentation skills. A first pilot study, conducted with volunteer first-semester law students, provided support for the hypothesis. The system especially helped lower-aptitude students learn argumentation skills, and LARGO improved the reading skills of students as they studied expert arguments. A second study with LARGO was conducted as a mandatory part of a first-semester University law course. Although there were no differences in the learning outcomes of the two conditions, the second study showed some evidence that those students who engaged more with the argument diagrams through the advice did better than the text condition. Analytical and numerical solutions of the Schroedinger Equation which was satisfied by the propagator P(b, a) , including all the paths contribution, are discussed. The definition of Schrödinger transform of image is first proposed. Exterior and interior of objects are obtained from Schroedinger transforms of original image and its inverse image. Using the bruteforce algorithm, sets of exterior and interior points are thinned. By finding pairs of exterior and interior points with the smallest distance between them, contours of multiple objects are extracted. A data mining framework has been proposed to estimate intracranial pressure (ICP) non-invasively in our previous work. In the corresponding approach, the feature vector extracted from arterial blood pressure (ABP) and flow velocity (FV) is translated to the estimated errors by the mapping function for each entry in the database. In this paper, three different mapping function solutions, linear least squares (LLS), truncated singular value decomposition (TSVD) and standard Tikhonov regularization (STR) are systemically tested to compare the possible effects of different solutions on the non-invasive ICP estimation. The conducted comparison demonstrated that the selection of mapping function solution actually influences the estimation. Among the tested three solutions for mapping function, TSVD and STR show better ICP estimation performance with smaller ICP errors than LLS. © 2008 IEEE.

Measurement of image similarity is important for a number of image processing applications. Image similarity assessment is closely related to image quality assessment and is based on the apparent differences between a degraded image and the original, unmodified image. Automated evaluation of image retrieval systems relies on accurate quality measurement of similarity among the input image and the database images. In this paper, we have treated the image under pixel level where we used the mean squared error (MSE) algorithms for measuring similarity between the input image and the training data images, The mean squared error (MSE) simulations have demonstrated its promise through a set of examples by showing its accuracy and low computation cost, though it didn't show good results with precision on similarity of images and for rotated, translated or flipped images hence we proposed the use of minimum circumscribed circle (concentric circles) with local binary pattern and compare the results to get the best image similarity method. Hence comparing different results some improved performance were observed.
