Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) require efficient node deployment strategies to optimize network longevity, energy consumption, and coverage. This paper introduces a novel approach for strategic node deployment in WSNs using Bayesian Optimization (BO). A BO-based framework that iteratively modifies node positions to maximize network performance metrics, such as energy efficiency and coverage ratio, while minimizing execution time is proposed. Through extensive simulations across diverse deployment scenarios, the proposed method is evaluated and demonstrates superior performance compared to both traditional and machine learning (ML)-based techniques. The results indicate significant improvements in coverage and energy efficiency, alongside competitive execution times. These findings highlight the potential of BO to enhance WSN deployment strategies, offering a scalable and adaptive solution for real-world applications. Future research will focus on integrating BO with other optimization techniques and extending the approach to dynamic environments and varied network configurations.

Diagnosis is a crucial subject for maintaining the reliability of multiprocessor systems. Under the MM⁎ diagnosis model, Sengupta and Dahbura proposed a polynomial-time algorithm with time complexity O(N5) to diagnose a system with N processors. In this paper, we propose a (α,β)-trees combination S(u,X,α,β) and give an algorithm to identify the fault or fault-free status of each processor for conditional local diagnosis under the MM⁎ model. According to our results, a connected network with a (α,β)-trees combination S(u,X,α,β) for a node u is conditionally locally (α+2β−3)-diagnosable at node u and the time complexity of our algorithm to diagnose u is O(α2β+αβ2). As an application, we show that our algorithm can identify the status of each node of n-dimensional star graph Sn if the faulty node number does not exceed 3n−8. Compared with existing algorithms, our algorithm allows more faulty nodes in a multiprocessor system. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud-Native Technologies is essential for improving personalized mobile banking experiences. The limitations and errors of existing financial systems necessitate such integration. Existing systems often struggle to adapt to modern consumers dynamic tastes and expectations, resulting in unsatisfactory customer experiences. Identifying the gap, the proposed system revolutionizes mobile banking applications by leveraging AI algorithms such as machine learning and natural language processing within a microservices-based cloud infrastructure. As a result, the proposed system solves the limitations of outdated architectures by providing personalized and efficient services while addressing security issues. The study indicates considerable gains in terms of user pleasure, system scalability, and security robustness through an in-depth evaluation of the results. The results highlight AI's and Cloud-Native Technologies transformational potential in revolutionizing the landscape of tailored mobile banking experiences. In this study, we explore the classification and prediction capabilities of three models-Genetic programming (GP), Logistic Regression (LR), and the Kolmogorov-Arnold Network (KAN)-on the task of sodium-ion battery life prediction. By leveraging a dataset composed of multiple battery characteristics, we aim to determine the remaining power of sodium-ion batteries using these machine learning models. The KAN model, being a novel approach, demonstrates superior performance across various metrics, including accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, when compared to the other two models. This highlights the potential of KAN as a robust model for complex classification tasks in the field of battery life prediction. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

This paper presents a novel design scheme for a decodable self-resetting Regfile circuit that aims to reduce the power consumption caused by massive data and high computing power. The scheme consists of three steps: first, it analyzes the working principle and the energy consumption process of the decoding circuit;second, it proposes a self-resetting decoding circuit structure that uses the clock to control the decoding state and automatically resets when the clock is low, thus avoiding the extra power consumption due to the inversion of the memory cell state during the non-working period of the decoding circuit;third, it implements a two-read, two-write, decodable self-resetting Regfile circuit using a full-custom design method under the TSMC 7nm FinFET process. The experimental results demonstrate that the circuit has an area of 5593μm2 and an energy-delay product of 0.41pJ•nS, and it can operate stably at 4GHz under various temperatures and process corner conditions. © 2023 IEEE.

Cloud segmentation is a critical challenge in remote sensing image interpretation, as its accuracy directly impacts the effectiveness of subsequent data processing and analysis. Recently, vision foundation models (VFM) have demonstrated powerful generalization capabilities across various visual tasks. In this paper, we present a parameter-efficient adaptive approach, termed Cloud-Adapter, designed to enhance the accuracy and robustness of cloud segmentation. Our method leverages a VFM pretrained on general domain data, which remains frozen, eliminating the need for additional training. Cloud-Adapter incorporates a lightweight spatial perception module that initially utilizes a convolutional neural network (ConvNet) to extract dense spatial representations. These multi-scale features are then aggregated and serve as contextual inputs to an adapting module, which modulates the frozen transformer layers within the VFM. Experimental results demonstrate that the Cloud-Adapter approach, utilizing only 0.6% of the trainable parameters of the frozen backbone, achieves substantial performance gains. Cloud-Adapter consistently achieves state-of-the-art performance across various cloud segmentation datasets from multiple satellite sources, sensor series, data processing levels, land cover scenarios, and annotation granularities. This paper introduces a unified framework for picture caption generation with the use of deep reinforcement mastering (RL) that combines convolution neural networks (CNNs) with RL. The paper first introduces a country representation as a remark for RL by means of combining CNN-primarily based photo representation and natural language processing (NLP) natural language representation. Then, the paper describes an RL-based reinforcement mastering (RL-RL) set of rules which uses the statement to generate captions. Eventually, the paper shows the experimental consequences of the proposed RL-RL set of rules on real-world datasets and shows that the RL-RL set of rules outperforms the present RL-NLP and CNN-RL algorithms. The paper additionally demonstrates the very best overall performance on the benchmark dataset COCO with a BLEU score of 0.645 and a METEOR score of 0.348. Evolution of AVS video coding standards: twenty years of innovation and development

Ever since the founding of the Audio and Video Coding Standard(AVS) Workgroup of China in 2002, it has been dedicated to advancing and innovating the digital audio-video industry with highly efficient and economical encoding/decoding technologies. Three representative generations of video coding standards have been finalized and published, consistently improving the coding performance in the past two *** series of AVS standards establish solid foundations for ubiquitous video applications in the areas including acquisition, coding, production, delivery, integrated system, public service, general screen content, and mixed reality media. Along with the standardization process, an extensive amount of studies have been carried out on efficiency-aware designation, algorithm optimization, and hardware implementation of these innovative video coding techniques. This paper explains how those developed techniques provide a lasting impact on the video coding community, extensively, technologically, and systematically. In particular, we provide a comprehensive survey of the three generations of the standards, and timely and in-depth summarize the efforts of the AVS video coding standards in the twenty years. The rate-distortion performance comparisons,in particular in terms of the 8K ultra-high-definition(UHD) contents, reflect the elegant design of the state-of-the-art AVS3 standards. We have also elaborated on a variety of well-established and promising applications, including commercial level real-time 8K encoder, high-frame-rate decoder chip for cell phone,and live streaming solution for sports. In addition, the China Central Television(CCTV) of China Media Group(CMG), the state television of China, has officially launched the first 8K broadcasting channel(CCTV-8K) since 2021 using AVS3. Given the significant success realized by the AVS standards, it is envisioned that a new era of 8K UHD video is arriving.
