Computational intelligence has grown increasingly common in the analysis of healthcare data in recent years. The deep learning algorithms, in instance, have such a number of fruitful implications in the analysis of medical images. This research study has presented a double awareness deep convolution network-based system for end-to-end healthcare lesion classification. Several fully supervised and poorly supervised extracted features are included in this framework. The issue of the high cost of pixel-level labels with lesions in the medical pictures is alleviated by the weakly supervised segmentation module's use of bounding-box labels of lesion regions, which allows for correct lesion segmentation to be accomplished. In addition to this, a dual attention mechanism has been included for the purpose of improving the network's capacity for visual feature learning. The dual attention mechanism, which consists of both channel and spatial attention, may assist in drawing the network's attention to the extraction of features from significant locations. It is possible for it to considerably minimize the gaps between ground-truth labels and pseudo labels, in comparison to the current standard approach of weakly supervised segmentation using pseudo labels. Final results show that our proposed approach beat the competitors on to an oral disease collection, while our approach was extended to incorporate dermatological disease categorization in the ultimate analysis. © 2022 IEEE.

Livestock detection in aerial images using a fully convolutional network

In order to accurately count the number of animals grazing on grassland, we present a livestock detection algorithm using modified versions of U-net and Google Inception-v4 net. This method works well to detect dense and touching instances. We also introduce a dataset for livestock detection in aerial images, consisting of 89 aerial images collected by quadcopter. Each image has resolution of about 3000 ×4000 pixels, and contains livestock with varying shapes,scales, and *** evaluate our method by comparison against Faster RCNN and Yolo-v3 algorithms using our aerial livestock dataset. The average precision of our method is better than Yolo-v3 and is comparable to Faster RCNN.

Background: This study investigates the potential of diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) in identifying penumbral volume (PV) compared to the standard gadolinium-required perfusion–diffusion mismatch (PDM), utilizing a stack-based ensemble machine learning (ML) approach with enhanced explainability. Methods: Sixteen male rats were subjected to middle cerebral artery occlusion. The penumbra was identified using PDM at 30 and 90 min after occlusion. We used 11 DTI-derived metrics and 14 distance-based features to train five voxel-wise ML models. The model predictions were integrated using stack-based ensemble techniques. ML-estimated and PDM-defined PVs were compared to evaluate model performance through volume similarity assessment, the Pearson correlation analysis, and Bland–Altman analysis. Feature importance was determined for explainability. Results: In the test rats, the ML-estimated median PV was 106.4 mL (interquartile range 44.6–157.3 mL), whereas the PDM-defined median PV was 102.0 mL (52.1–144.9 mL). These PVs had a volume similarity of 0.88 (0.79–0.96), a Pearson correlation coefficient of 0.93 (p < 0.001), and a Bland–Altman bias of 2.5 mL (2.4% of the mean PDM-defined PV), with 95% limits of agreement ranging from -44.9 to 49.9 mL. Among the features used for PV prediction, the mean diffusivity was the most important feature. Conclusions: Our study confirmed that PV can be estimated using DTI metrics with a stack-based ensemble ML approach, yielding results comparable to the volume defined by the standard PDM. The model explainability enhanced its clinical relevance. Human studies are warranted to validate our findings. Relevance statement: The proposed DTI-based ML model can estimate PV without the need for contrast agent administration, offering a valuable option for patients with kidney dysfunction. Entrepreneurship is an activity and process to generate added value in the economy. To support performance in carrying out entrepreneurial practices, an entrepreneur needs to develop entrepreneurial mindfulness. Entrepreneurial mindfulness is a concept based on cognitive construction so that it can influence identification and can proactively become the basis for the development of an entrepreneurial mindset. This study aims to build an artificial intelligence model that can predict the level of entrepreneurial mindfulness of users. To build an AI model, this research follows the workflow from CRISP-DM. CRISP-DM is one of the most popular lifecycles that is used for predictive analytics. There are four machine learning models that are used in this research, they are Random Forest, Adaboost, Gaussian Naïve Bayes and Deep Learning. By comparing the models using machine learning metrics, one best model can be used to be applied to the website. Accuracy, F1Score, Precision and Recall are used for evaluating machine learning models. At the end, Random Forest is used for predicting the level of mindfulness, because it has the highest values from all machine learning metrics (score of 0.95). © 2022 IEEE.

Facial image based kinship verification aims to decide whether there exists kinship between the given facial images. In practice, the cross-generation differences will cause adverse effects on kinship verification, which limits the performance. Therefore, how to mine the implied similarity from facial images with large cross-generation divergence is an important problem in kinship verification, which has not yet been well studied. In view of this, we propose a Similarity Mining via Implicit matching pattern LEarning (SMILE) approach for kinship verification. Specifically, SMILE mainly consists of two modules, including a Semi-coupled Multi-pattern Similarity Learning (SMSL) module and a Cross-Generation Feature Normalization (CGFN) module. The SMSL module is designed to learn multiple semi-coupled matching patterns for mining the implicit facial similarity information from different perspectives. The CGFN module aims to reduce the divergence between facial images of parent and child. Extensive experiments demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms the existing state-of-the-art methods.

Weight assignment is a universal and indispensable process in multi-view feature selection. However, most existing methods overlook the fuzziness and uncertainty implied in multi-view data. This may result in improper weight assignment, degrading the quality of selected features. A cross-view fuzziness and intra-view uncertainty-based weight reconstruction method (CFIUWR) is proposed for multi-view feature selection. With the fuzzy rough set theory, fuzzy approximation operators recognize cross-view fuzziness and intra-view uncertainty, which are evaluated by classification-related measurement. Cross-view fuzziness and intra-view uncertainty are incorporated to develop a reconstruction mechanism for view and feature weights. An optimization algorithm is derived, guaranteeing rapid convergence. Comparisons with state-of-the-art methods on several real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of the CFIUWR. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The attendance management system is a system that needed for learning activity in a University. In some University, the attendance management system has been used tapping system which using NFC technology. Actually, that attendance management system is effective for managing each of attendance information. However, until now we can still see many cheats for this attendance system. For example, leave their cards to their classmates and tell them to tap for them. For that, one of the many effective solutions to resolve that problem is to add face recognition technology in the current attendance system. In our experiment, we know that to add face recognition to the current attendance management system surely need a camera and also face dataset for the system. At the beginning, we need at least 9 images with different emotions and face positions to let the system recognizes one's face. To make this system more accurate at recognizing one's face, we would update the face dataset in every face recognizing process. © 2020 IEEE.

Food sustainability is still one of the main priorities for many countries as it contributes to the economy and stability of the nation. For government in many countries whose peoples consumes rice as its staple food, food self-sufficiency initiatives highly depend on accurate prediction of paddy field map. Mapping paddy field task is a challenging problem which cannot be handled manually especially when the paddy fields are spread out in very wide geographical areas such as those in Indonesia. Fortunately, wide availability of satellite imagery and the advent of deep learning technology in the past ten years have made it possible to improve efficiency of most parts of those manual works involving image semantic segmentation tasks. However, satellite image-based semantic segmentation is a challenging task. High object complexity, cloud partial occlusion, larger image size than a computer memory can stored can hinder accuracy of the image segmentation results. This paper presents a method for paddy field map generating using semantic image segmentation approach in which Pyramid Scene Parsing Net model is used for segmenting satellite imagery. The generated paddy map can be used as a basis for decision-making, especially in the agricultural sector. Analysis of local land use/land cover dynamics. The results of his experiments using SPOT 6 satellite imagery from the Pahung region of Central Kalimantan achieved average training accuracy, best training accuracy and test accuracy of 0.85, 0.86 and 0.89 respectively. These results indicated that the semantic segmentation model is suitable for addressing the same task in different crops.

Recent studies of genotype-phenotype maps have reported universally enhanced phenotypic robustness to genotype mutations, a feature essential to evolution. Virtually all of these studies make a simplifying assumption that each genotype—represented as a sequence—maps deterministically to a single phenotype, such as a discrete structure. Here we introduce probabilistic genotype-phenotype (PrGP) maps, where each genotype maps to a vector of phenotype probabilities, as a more realistic and universal language for investigating robustness in a variety of physical, biological, and computational systems. We study three model systems to show that PrGP maps offer a generalized framework which can handle uncertainty emerging from various physical sources: (1) thermal fluctuation in RNA folding, (2) external field disorder in the spin-glass ground state search problem, and (3) superposition and entanglement in quantum circuits, which are realized experimentally on IBM quantum computers. In all three cases, we observe a biphasic robustness scaling which is enhanced relative to random expectation for more frequent phenotypes and approaches random expectation for less frequent phenotypes. We derive an analytical theory for the behavior of PrGP robustness, and we demonstrate that the theory is highly predictive of empirical robustness.

HC-GAE: The Hierarchical Cluster-based Graph Auto-Encoder for Graph Representation Learning

Graph Auto-Encoders (GAEs) are powerful tools for graph representation learning. In this paper, we develop a novel Hierarchical Cluster-based GAE (HC-GAE), that can learn effective structural characteristics for graph data analysis. To this end, during the encoding process, we commence by utilizing the hard node assignment to decompose a sample graph into a family of separated subgraphs. We compress each subgraph into a coarsened node, transforming the original graph into a coarsened graph. On the other hand, during the decoding process, we adopt the soft node assignment to reconstruct the original graph structure by expanding the coarsened nodes. By hierarchically performing the above compressing procedure during the decoding process as well as the expanding procedure during the decoding process, the proposed HC-GAE can effectively extract bidirectionally hierarchical structural features of the original sample graph. Furthermore, we re-design the loss function that can integrate the information from either the encoder or the decoder. Since the associated graph convolution operation of the proposed HC-GAE is restricted in each individual separated subgraph and cannot propagate the node information between different subgraphs, the proposed HC-GAE can significantly reduce the over-smoothing problem arising in the classical convolution-based GAEs. The proposed HC-GAE can generate effective representations for either node classification or graph classification, and the experiments demonstrate the effectiveness on real-world datasets.
