Optimization of All-Fiber Calibration-Free Wavelength-Modulated Laser Heterodyne System for Methane (CH4) Atmospheric Detection

This paper presents a calibration-free wavelength-modulated laser heterodyne radiometer (CF-WM-LHR) system, including the LabVIEW-designed software signal generator and software digital lock-in amplifier, monitors atmospheric methane (CH 4 ) column concentration in real-time. Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences experiments with specific laser and SR830 settings acquire six signals per measurement. The 2 f signal of CH 4 reaches near its maximum at a 0.28 V optimal modulation voltage. A 395–520 MHz bandpass achieves 250 MHz (0.0083 cm −1 ) spectral resolution. Compared with SR830, the software digital lock-in amplifier can demodulate multiple signals and attain an improved 2 f /1 f SNR of 429.3. The CF-WM-LHR system provides new greenhouse gas detection methods, and the software digital lock-in amplifier is crucial for inversion.

Recently, deep learning is widely developed in computer vision applications. In this paper, a novel simple tracker with deep learning is proposed to complete the tracking task. A simple fully convolutional Siamese network is applied to capture the similarity between different frames. Nevertheless, the detailed information from lower layers, which is also important for locating the target object, is not considered into the tracking task. In this paper, the detailed information from two lower layers is considered into the response map to improve the performance and not to increase much time spent. This leads more significant improvement for feature representation and localization of the target object. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is efficient and robust compared with the baseline and the state-of-the-art trackers. © 2018, Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

With the development of urbanization, the number of residents' motor vehicles has increased sharply, and traffic congestion problem has become increasingly serious. The construction of Intelligent Traffic System (ITS) has become the main means to alleviate traffic congestion. Short-term traffic flow prediction has guiding significance for residents' travel planning and intelligent management of transportation, and has become one of the research hotspots in intelligent transportation ***, A short-term traffic flow prediction method based on the spatio-temporal characteristics of complex road networks is proposed to further improve the prediction accuracy and reduce the prediction cost. Firstly, a graph convolutional network (GCN) capable of processing non-Euclidean data structures is used to extract the spatial characteristics of traffic flow data. Then, the long and short-term memory (LSTM) neural network is used to process the time characteristics. Finally, the two are combined to realize the effective processing of the spatio-temporal characteristics of traffic flow data. Experimental results on the real traffic flow dataset prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method, and can provide a basis for intelligent traffic control and smart city construction. © 2022 The authors and IOS Press.

Heterogeneous multi-core platforms, e.g., ARM's ***, are a promising trend to improve the performance and energy efficiency of future mobile systems. However, the immediate benefits and the challenges to take advantage of the heterogeneity are still not clear. In this paper, we present our early experiences about the energy efficiency of the two *** heterogeneous platforms: ODROID XU+E and ODROID XU3. We quantified compared them with homogeneous platforms through multiple benchmarks which include popular mobile applications and high-performance parallel benchmarks. Besides, we analyzed the scheduling impact on the energy consumption of the heterogeneous platforms and the migration cost is also discussed. Based on the results, several insights, such as fine-granularity power control and thread level parallelism, related to hardware, application and system design are derived. © 2016 IEEE.

Application programming interface(API)libraries are extensively used by *** correctly program with APIs and avoid bugs,developers shall pay attention to API directives,which illustrate the constraints of ***,API directives usually have diverse morphologies,making it time-consuming and error-prone for developers to discover all the relevant API *** this paper,we propose an approach leveraging text classification to discover API directives from API ***,given a set of training sentences in API specifications,our approach first characterizes each sentence by three groups of ***,to deal with the unequal distribution between API directives and non-directives,our approach employs an under-sampling strategy to split the imbalanced training set into several subsets and trains several *** a new sentence in an API specification,our approach synthesizes the trained classifiers to predict whether it is an API *** have evaluated our approach over a publicly available annotated API directive *** experimental results reveal that our approach achieves an F-measure value of up to 82.08%.In addition,our approach statistically outperforms the state-of-the-art approach by up to 29.67%in terms of F-measure.

In this study, we present a middleware-based approach for detecting anomalies in distributed systems. Our method facilitates the dynamic collection of logs at various levels of detail and incorporates an a priori dictionary-based compression strategy to process and transmit logs, minimizing the performance impact on distributed systems. Additionally, we utilize a dual feature fusion technique to analyze the logs. We evaluate the effectiveness of our approach by performing anomaly detection in a publish/subscribe distributed system and comparing it with existing methods. The results illustrate that our method outperforms other approaches, demonstrating superior performance. © 2023 IEEE.

In Mobile Opportunistic Networks, there are special cases of multicast in which destinations (except the total number) are not predetermined. E.g., a person tries to find another three players to play poker without knowing them. Achieving efficient data routing in this scenario (target any k destinations among m of them) can be very challenge due to (1) no predetermined destinations, (2) extra delay cost by the destinations collision, and (3) difficulty of the receiver quantity control. We define this as a K-Anycast problem, the goal is to route copies of the message to any k destinations with the shortest average delay. In this paper, we first propose a matching method to solve the problem in a centralized way. We then bring forward a layered hierarchical structure where nodes are organized according to their degree of activities. Based on the structure, two routing algorithms are proposed where K-Cast initializes exactly k copies of the message without replication in the middle, K-Epidemic performs epidemic routing only in a controlled range. Both algorithms will first forward copies upwards along the structure and then downwards to the destinations. Experiments on real data trace show that the proposed algorithms achieve much better delay, delivery ratio and lower forwarding numbers.

In modern multi-core system, memory is shared among more and more concurrently running threads. Therefore, memory contention and interference is more and more seriously which induces performance degradation unevenly, unfairness resource sharing and priority inversion even starvation. In this paper, we first analyze the problems induced by contention and interference in detail, and then, propose pseudo share framework which brings shared memory to exclusive in multi-core system. The pseudo share framework contains three steps: 1) Partition threads and memory into thread and memory groups respectively, each thread group runs on one core occupying one memory group, 2) Analyze the performance influence after memory shared for each thread, 3) According to performance influence of parallel running threads, allocate memory bandwidth for each thread. We implement pseudo share in 4-core and 8-core platforms. Experimental results show pseudo share optimizes both problems of performance degradation differently and unfairness resource sharing in both 4-core and 8-core. Moreover, pseudo share solves starvation and reduces 5.3% power on average.

In the framework of the protection of the environment, we proceeded during the year 2016 (12 months), to the follow-up of variation of the wastewater pollution parameters at the inlet and at the outlet of the treatment plant of the Djelfa city, which operates by activated sludge, following the medium load *** physicochemical analyzes were carried out on the following parameters: pH, temperature, eclectic conductivity, turbidity, Total suspended solids, COD, BOD5, NH4+, NO3- and total phosphorus. At the end of these analyses, we obtained good elimination yield of 92% to 91% for TSS and 92% to 91% for BOD5. The COD recorded a reduction of 84% to 83%. Total phosphorus achieved a removal efficiency of 55% to 66%. For nitrogen, Ammonia experienced a 61% to 57% reduction from inlet to outlet of the plant. On the other hand, nitrates recorded an increase of 200% to 236%, due to *** quality of the treated water, for the majority of the parameters, complies with the standards required by Algerian regulations and those of the WHO. We can conclude that the treatment system adopted at the level of the WWTP of Djelfa is effective and justified its design and its objective of realization. © 2023 IEEE.

Toward business process recommendation-based collaborative filtering

Existing process recommendation methods cannot meet the various needs of personalised users. To address this problem, this paper proposed a personalised process recommendation method that is based on user behaviour preference. This method combines traditional process recommendation with user behaviour similarity and mines user behaviour preference according to the historical tracks of processes that were performed by users. In the execution of a process, the execution trace of a behaviour-similar user and executable candidate activities to be recommended that are provided by conventional process recommendation are analysed. Then, activities or recommended activities for the current user are selected to realise the automatic construction of the entire process to meet the personalised needs of users. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms other methods in terms of accuracy and efficiency. © 2019 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.
