Layer number dependent magnetic transitions in two-dimensional A-type antiferromagnets

Two-dimensional (2D) A-type antiferromagnets, characterized by intralayer ferromagnetic and interlayer antiferromagnetic couplings, exhibit significant tunability in their spin configurations, along with exotic electronic and optical responses. With the recent discovery of various 2D A-type antiferromagnets such as CrI3 and MnBi2Ti4, the diversity in their magnetic parameters—including interlayer coupling strengths and anisotropies—has made their magnetic transitions complex and challenging to fully comprehend. In this work, we employ a linear chain model to systematically investigate the magnetic transitions in 2D A-type antiferromagnets. Through numerical simulations, we explore the layer number dependence of spin-flip and spin-flop transitions with different magnetic parameters, under varying magnetic field orientations. Additionally, we derive analytical expressions to describe the layer number dependence of these transitions. Our findings enhance the understanding of magnetic transitions in 2D antiferromagnets by revealing how spin-flip and spin-flop transitions are influenced by layer numbers. Furthermore, our approach provides an effective method to determine crucial parameters, such as interlayer coupling strengths and anisotropic properties, based on experimental observations.

Based on the great advantages of an inner hollow structure and excellent solid counterpart capacity,complex hierarchical structures have been widely used as electrodes for lithium-ion ***,hierarchical yolk-shell Cu_(2)O@Cu O-decorated RGO(YSRs)was designed and synthesized via a multistep ***-like Cu_(2)O-decorated RGO was firstly produced,in which GO was reduced slightly while cuprous oxide was ***,the controlled oxidation of Cu_(2)O@RGO led to the synthesis of special YSRs,which were composed of a solid Cu_(2)O core,spur-CuO,CuO shell,and RGO *** anode materials,YSRs could provide considerable capacity ***,the void existed between shells and solid active materials retaining the advantages of inner hollow *** a result,the unique architecture of the materials renders the composites with enhanced electronic and ionic diffusion kinetics,high specific capacity(~894 m Ah g^(-1),0.1 C),and an excellent rate capability.

Inducing Berry curvature dipole in multilayer graphene through inhomogeneous interlayer sliding

Breaking lattice symmetry is crucial for generating a nonzero Berry curvature. While manipulating twisting angles between adjacent layers has successfully broken lattice symmetry through strain field and generated nonzero Berry curvature, interlayer sliding in principle offers a promising alternative route. However, realizing uniform interlayer sliding faces experimental challenges due to its energetic instability. In this work, we introduce an experimentally feasible method, using a corrugated substrate to induce an inhomogeneous but energetically more stable interlayer sliding in multilayer graphene. Our simulations demonstrate that inhomogeneous interlayer sliding produces a sizable Berry curvature dipole, which can be further tuned by varying the interlayer sliding distances and potential differences. The resulting Berry curvature dipole magnitude is remarkably up to 100 times greater than the maximum displacement involved in the inhomogeneous sliding. Our results highlight inhomogeneous interlayer sliding as a viable and effective method to induce a significant Berry curvature dipole in graphene systems and propose the experimentally feasible way to realize it.

Lowering lattice symmetry plays a pivotal role in generating a nonzero Berry curvature dipole. In this work, we demonstrate that introducing an interlayer sliding in bilayer graphene effectively breaks the inherent threefold rotational symmetry, thus giving rise to a nonzero Berry curvature dipole. Our numerical simulations also reveal the magnitude of the Berry curvature dipole can be further tuned by various parameters, including interlayer sliding distances and directions, as well as interlayer potential differences. We show even a tiny sliding distance of 0.02 nm can lead to a substantial Berry curvature dipole of about 10 nm in bilayer graphene, which is comparable to the values measured in transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs). Our work represents a new way to manipulate the topological properties of bilayer graphene, and this methodology can be extended into other two-dimensional systems, such as TMDCs with threefold rotational symmetry.

Quantum-classical correspondence of chaotic dynamics in a continuously driven system

We investigate both classical and quantum chaotic dynamics of a two-mode Bose-Einstein condensate driven by a continuously periodic field. We calculate the quantities, including quantum Fisher information (QFI), fidelity, and linear entropy, to characterize the quantum chaos and compare these quantities with the maximum Lyapunov exponent (MLE) of the corresponding classical system. The behaviors of the quantum quantities and the classical quantity show a strong correspondence regardless of the classical regular and chaotic regions in the parameter space. A quantitative link between the MLE and the short-time dynamics of the QFI is established. Particularly, we find that our continuously driven model is significantly superior to other models in accelerating entanglement generation through chaos, which is evidenced by the shorter time required for the QFI to reach the Heisenberg limit. We briefly discuss the underlying mechanism of this finding and its application in saving time costs and improving measurement accuracy as well.

SnSe is considered as a thermoelectric material with great potential and advantages due to the record of high thermoelectric figure of merit（ZT） of 2.6 at 923 K in single ***,it is difficult to use single crystal SnSe in practice due to its poor mechanical properties and high manufacturing ***,the polycrystalline SnSe also is also not suitable for applications due to its much lower thermoelectric performance compared with single crystal ***,improving the thermoelectric properties of polycrystalline SnSe has become a hot research *** this paper,AgSnSe2doped into SnSe to increase the carrier density of the system and thus improve its thermoelectric *** is found that the addition of AgSnSe2can effectively improve the thermoelectric performance of polycrystalline SnSe.A peak ZT of 0.81 was obtained at 713 K for（SnSe）0.95（AgSnSe2）0.025,which is 305% higher than that of the undoped *** reveals that AgSnSe2-doped SnSe alloy may become a thermoelectric material system with great application potential and significance.
