In a Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA), reactor core temperatures can rise rapidly, leading to potential fuel damage and radioactive material release. This research presents a groundbreaking method that combines the power of Monte Carlo Sampling and Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) to simulate and effectively address the challenging Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA) in nuclear reactors. In the event of a LOCA, reactor core temperatures can soar rapidly, posing a significant threat to fuel integrity and potentially leading to the release of radioactive materials. By leveraging the strengths of both Monte Carlo Sampling and PINNs, this approach aims to provide a comprehensive and accurate simulation framework for assessing and mitigating the consequences of such accidents. The method yields high prediction accuracy (MAE: 0.033, RMSE: 0.098, R2: 0.814) and demonstrates robustness through transfer learning, maintaining strong performance (MAE: 0.064, RMSE: 0.163, R2: 0.735). © 2024 IEEE.

As more and more service providers encapsulate and publish their data and services on the internet in the form of Web APIs, the number of Web APIs is ever-increasing. For this reason, Web API recommendation is gaining momentum and has achieved high performance in accuracy. However, few studies paid attention to function recommendation. As an indispensable entity in the mashup-API ecosystem, function is not only the in-facto basis of API taxonomy, but also determines the compatibility and the internal construction pattern of mashup composition. Considering that users adopt multiple function invocations during a development cycle and the number of functions is also increasing, we propose the complementary function recommendation(CFR), a function-to-function problem. To solve the CFR, we regard each mashup as a transaction set for frequent pattern mining and propose an association rule-based complementary function recommendation(ARCFR) system, which provides function recommendation and corresponding probability explanation. Our experiments show that ARCFR can recommend complementary function effectively, and we give two applicable scenarios to demonstrate the practical value of our method in more aspects. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In terms of the requirement of contingency return during the circumlunar flight phase in manned lunar missions, this article presents a contingency point return trajectory design approach. In consideration of the point return constraint, an initial value estimate model is proposed. A nonlinear programming problem is constructed and solved by adopting an improved differential evolution algorithm with good global search ability. On the basis of the initial value estimate, homotopy continuation is used to gradually approximate and obtain the high-fidelity solution. The simulation results indicate that the design approach can effectively calculate a contingency point return trajectory with good convergence. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Polarization and waveform optimization can significantly improve the detection ability of fully polarized radar. However, in practical scenarios, atmospheric particles frequently induce depolarization effects on radar waves, thereby influencing precise target detection, a phenomenon predominantly observed with raindrop particles. This paper establishes a target detection model for fully polarized radar in rainy condition. Subsequently, a joint transceiver iterative optimization algorithm is devised, utilizing the maximum output signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR) of the system as the benchmark, and imposing dual constraints of energy and resemblance on the transmitting waveform. Ultimately, the effectiveness of the proposed method under rainy condition is validated through simulation, and recommendations for engineering applications are provided based on the analysis. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2023.

A large-scale system contains a huge configuration space because of its large number of configuration parameters. This leads to a combination explosion among configuration parameters when exploring the configuration space. Existing configuration testing techniques first use fuzzing to generate different configuration parameters, and then directly inject them into the program under test to find configuration-induced bugs. However, they do not fully consider the complexity of large-scale systems, resulting in low testing effectiveness. In this paper, we propose ECFuzz, an effective configuration fuzzer for large-scale systems. Our core approach consists of (i) Multi-dimensional configuration generation strategy. ECFuzz first designs different mutation strategies according to different dependencies and selects multiple configuration parameters from the candidate configuration parameters to effectively generate con-figuration parameters; (ii) Unit-testing-oriented configuration validation strategy. ECFuzz introduces unit testing into configuration testing techniques to filter out configuration parameters that are unlikely to yield errors before executing system testing, and effectively validate generated configuration parameters. We have conducted extensive experiments in real-world large-scale systems including HCommon, HDFS, HBase, ZooKeeper and Alluxio. Our evaluation shows that ECFuzz is effective in finding configuration-induced crash bugs. Compared with the state-of-the-art configuration testing tools including ConfTest, ConfErr and ConfDiagDe-tector, ECFuzz finds 60.3-67 more unexpected failures when the same 1000 testcases are injected into the system with an increase of 1.87x-2.63x. Moreover, ECFuzz has exposed 14 previously unknown bugs, and 5 of them have been confirmed.

The sparse adversarial attack has attracted increasing attention due to the merit of a low attack cost via changing a small number of pixels. However, the generated adversarial examples are easily detected in vision since the perturbation to each pixel is relatively large. To achieve imperceptible and sparse adversarial attacks, this article formulates a bi-objective constrained optimization problem, simultaneously minimizing the 0 and 2 distances to the original image, and proposes a dual-population-based constrained evolutionary algorithm to solve it. The proposed method solves the optimization problem by evolving two populations, where one population is responsible for finding feasible solutions (i.e., successful attacks) and the other one is to minimize both the 0 and 2 distances. Moreover, a population initialization strategy and two genetic operators are customized to accelerate the convergence speed. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method can achieve high success rates with low attack costs, and strikes a better balance between the 0 and 2 distances than state-of-the-art methods. © 2020 IEEE.

Traditional LiDAR SLAM approaches prioritize localization over mapping, yet high-precision dense maps are essential for numerous applications involving intelligent agents. Recent advancements have introduced methods leveraging neural fields to enhance mapping capabilities;however, these approaches still face several limitations. Firstly, concerning scene representation, they typically employ neural fields with high-dimensional features and multi-layer perceptron decoders utilizing non-continuous activation functions. This results in low learning efficiency and challenges in capturing high-frequency signals. Secondly, in terms of scene organization, these methods often treat the entire scene as a singular neural field, leading to inefficiencies, inflexibility, and difficulties in rectifying accumulated errors when mapping large-scale environments over extended periods. To tackle the first issue, we propose a lightweight continuous SDF regression approach by encoding the scene in single-valued embeddings and decoding SDF values from a Kolmogorov-Arnold Network. By minimizing discrepancies in measuring range, sampling distance, and decoded SDF values, we facilitate iterative frame-to-model tracking and bundle adjustment neural mapping. To mitigate the second challenge, we propose structuring the whole scene into multiple neural SDF submaps. By establishing node-node, node-submap, and loop closure constraints into a global pose graph, the system can create dense neural maps with global consistency across large-scale scenes. Experimental evaluations in both real-world and simulated settings indicate that our system achieves superior mapping completeness and accuracy, enhanced learning efficiency, reduced memory consumption, and greater flexibility compared to its counterparts. © 2025 IEEE.

Dynamic internal solitary wave (ISW) can cause significant underwater sound fluctuations. In this paper, the periodic characteristics of sound intensity fluctuations and related physical mechanisms are investigated in the scenario that an ISW train passing through the acoustic path from source to receivers. From simulation results and experimental data, it is shown that the sound intensity fluctuates quasi-periodically, and the predominant fluctuation frequency is associated with modal interference and modal intensity. The initial mode coefficients at the source and the mode coupling are responsible for the fluctuations of modal intensities, and one of the predominant fluctuation periods is the same as that of the ISWs. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
