In the visible light communication (VLC) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFdM) systems, the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPr) of OFdM signals is the primary concern of the transmission performance. In order to obtain low PAPr signals, we report and experimentally demonstrate a phase modulated OFdM system. The system can be reach 1.2Gbit/s under the standard illuminance level. And the bit-error ratio (BEr) of the received data is under 3.8 × 10 -3 , which is within the limit of common forward error correction (FEC) coding. The transmission distance can be reach 1.5m, which is the most remarkable in VLC OFdM systems.

disambiguating named entities is an important problem in natural language processing, knowledge base, question answering systems. In the paper, we propose a Markov logic network knowledge graph solution for solving entity resolution problem. First, we employ knowledge graph to represent the entity relationship between linked entities in the knowledge base. Then, we utilize MLN to inference the inconsistent relationship in the knowledge graph, and disambiguate the entities in the process of entity disambiguation. As far as we know, inferencing with MLN is a first attempt for entity disambiguation in the knowledge graph. We evaluate the proposed solution with three real world knowledge bases and compare it with four baseline solutions. The experimental results demonstrate that our solution is 7% higher than other baseline methods with F1 measure. We also test our scheme and compare entity resolution systems on four datasets with three knowledge base corpora. Extensive experiments show that our solution achieves higher precision and recall than baseline solutions. © 2017 Totem Publisher, Inc. All rights reserved.

The simple structure of compressed sensing (CS) lead to low complexity encryption, which is fascinating for nodes with limited resources in the wireless network. In this paper, we analyze the performance of the encryption method based on compressed sensing, and prove that the encryption can achieve the information theory security. The effect of the sparsity and the signal noise ratio (SNr) on the encryption method are explored. The security and robustness of the encryption method are analyzed by a passive eavesdropper and an active attacker. Under the rayleigh fading channels, simulation results show that the security performance of the encryption increases as the sparsity decreases, and the SNr increases. In addition, the encryption approach is valid in preventing access from an active attacker based on the computation attack, which is consistent with the theory analysis.

This paper using vector diagram illuminates the operation principle of vector synthesis predistortions and proves they can control amplitude modulation to amplitude modulation (AM/AM) and amplitude modulation to phase modulation (AM/PM) separately. This paper investigates the joint power allocation problem for a three-node massive MIMO relaying system with maximum ratio combining/maximum ratio transmission (MrC/MrT) precoding strategy. Our goal is to pursuit the energy efficiency (EE) maximization while taking a quality-of-service (QoS) requirement into account by optimizing the source-relay transmit power simultaneously. To handle the EE based problem, we first derive a closed-form expression of the involved spectral efficiency (SE) by leveraging the tools of determinate equivalent approximation technique. Then, the optimal power solutions at the source and the relay are deduced in analytical forms by exploring the Lagrangian dual technology and the Lambert W function. What's more, one can find that the optimal power values at the relay and the source satisfy a specific ratio, which is determined by the system parameters and the large-scale fading factors of the two-hop channels. Numerical results illustrate the performance advantages of our developed power allocation method.

due to the growing presence of large-scale and streaming graphs such as social networks, graph sampling and clustering play an important role in many real-world applications. One key aspect of graph clustering is the evaluation of cluster quality. However, little attention has been paid to evaluation measures for clustering quality on samples of graphs. As first steps towards appropriate evaluation of clustering methods on sampled graphs, in this work we present two novel evaluation measures for graph clustering called δ-precision and δ-recall. These measures effectively reflect the match quality of the clusters in the sampled graph with respect to the ground-truth clusters in the original graph. We show in extensive experiments on various benchmarks that our proposed metrics are practical and effective for graph clustering evaluation.

Automatic link establishment (ALE) is one of the important technologies in HF communication. One of the indicators to measure the performance of an ALE system is the linking time, which includes channel switching, spectrum sensing, and trying to call three periods. Asynchronous mode has been widely used for its simple operation. When establishing an link, the station sorts all the channels and selects the best available channel based on link quality analysis (LQA) matrix, which consists of scores of channels. The traditional LQA algorithm only considers a single factor, such as SNr. In this paper, a new LQA matrix combined with spectrum prediction is proposed to reduce the linking time. It is a new metric to evaluate channels. Spectrum prediction technology has been developed in order to solve the problem of time and energy consumption of spectrum sensing. Based on previous occupancy information, the statistical state parameters of each channel can be obtained. Compared with the traditional algorithm, the new algorithm balances channel state and quality parameters with multiplicative relation. The simulation results show that the linking time is reduced and the performance is improved using new algorithm, and the spectrum prediction can further reduce linking time.

recently, refractivity from clutter (rFC) is an important means to obtain spatial reflectivity distribution. As the input of rFC, radar sea clutter power seriously affects the inversion performance. For this problem, we study its distribution to get more priori information of inversion. Using this way, inversion accuracy could be improved. In this paper, seven kinds of power probability density function (PPdF) are presented. Based on these distribution models, The experimental data measured in Bohai Sea are analyzed. In addition, the goodness-of-fit tests are used to test the degree of fitness between the experimental data and the models. The results show that these radar sea clutter power data meet log-normal distribution or meet Weibull distribution.

The national digital switching system engineering and technological r&d center (NdSC) speech-to-text transcription system for the 2016 multi-genre broadcast challenge is described. Various acoustic models based on deep neural network (dNN), such as hybrid dNN, long short term memory recurrent neural network (LSTM rNN), and time delay neural network (TdNN), are trained. The system also makes use of recurrent neural network language models (rNNLMs) for re-scoring and minimum Bayes risk (MBr) combination. The WEr on test dataset of the speech-to-text task is 18.2%. Furthermore, to simulate real applications where manual segmentations were not available an automatic segmentation system based on long-term information is proposed. WErs based on the automatically generated segments were slightly worse than that based on the manual segmentations.
