Review on Security Defense technology Research in Edge Computing Environment

Edge computing, which achieves quick data processing by sinking data computing and storage to the network edge, has grown rapidly along with the Internet of things. The new network architecture of edge computing brings new security challenges. Based on this, this paper investigates the edge computing security literature published in recent years and summarizes and analyzes research work on edge computing security from different attack surfaces. We start with the definition and architecture of edge computing. From the attack surface between device and edge server, as well as on edge servers, the research describes the security threats and defense methods of edge computing. In addition, the cause of the attack and the pros and cons of defense methods is introduced. The challenges and future research directions of edge computing are given.

A Novel Method for Multi-Function Radar Work Mode Boundary Detection

Work mode boundary detection can provide basic information units for the recognition of consecutive work modes in the intercepted multi-function radar (MFR) pulse sequence. The existing boundary detection methods tend to detect false boundaries when the pulse parameters vary drastically within the work mode, such as when the pulse repetition interval (PRI) modulation type is stagger or agile. To address the issue of over-detection of the work mode transition boundary, a new work mode boundary detection method is proposed based on the arc crossings (AC). It utilizes AC to quantify and annotate the similarities within MFR work modes. Without relying on prior knowledge, it can accurately capture the structural characteristics of the boundary transition and effectively adapt to different pulse parameter modulation types. The experimental results show that it reduces the segmentation probabilistic error by 8.7% and false alarm rate by 19.85% compared to the baseline algorithm. © 2025, Electromagnetics Academy. Knowledge Graph Completion Method of Combining Structural Information with Semantic Information

With the development of knowledge graphs, a series of applications based on knowledge graphs have emerged. The incompleteness of knowledge graphs makes the effect of the downstream applications affected by the quality of the knowledge graphs. To improve the quality of knowledge graphs, translation-based graph embeddings such as TransE, learn structural information by representing triples as low-dimensional dense vectors. However, it is difficult to generalize to the unseen entities that are not observed during training but appear during testing. Other methods use the powerful representational ability of pre-trained language models to learn entity descriptions and contextual representation of triples. Although they are robust to incompleteness, they need to calculate the score of all candidate entities for each triple during inference. We consider combining two models to enhance the robustness of unseen entities by semantic information, and prevent combined explosion by reducing inference overhead through structured information. We use a pre-training language model to code triples and learn the semantic information within them, and use a hyperbolic space-based distance model to learn structural information, then integrate the two types of information together. We evaluate our model by performing link prediction experiments on standard datasets. The experimental results show that our model achieves better performances than state-of-the-art methods on two standard datasets.

LDAS&ET-AD:Learnable Distillation Attack Strategies and Evolvable Teachers Adversarial Distillation

The PDFs are usually treated as static documents in traditional impression, while the added functions in the new specifications make PDFs almost as powerful as executables. Although researchers have proposed many solutions, there are still some shortcomings, such as excessive overhead and being susceptible to parser confusion. In this paper, we propose a new perspective of PDF detection. Our insight is that malicious PDF documents often hide their malicious behaviors among benign ones but can be captured by the underlying traces of the operating system (OS) such as system calls. Based on this intuition, we propose a novel selection algorithm to identify suspicious parts in a system call sequence, complemented by a signal analysis method to extract global features. We evaluate our approach on a dataset of 848 documents, achieving a good detection performance with the ROC value of 0.98. Furthermore, we conduct a comprehensive interpretability study to understand the internals of the mode. Experimental results show that, compared with other methods, the proposed model has outstanding performance in feature extraction and training, effectively improving the accuracy of PDF detection. © 2024 IEEE.

With the continuous evolution of supercomputers, traditional public-key encryption becomes insecure. Quantum key distribution (QKD) and physical layer security (PLS) technologies, however, are expected to innovate encryption system for they both protect confidential information without relying on computational security: the unobservability of quantum states ensures QKD providing secure keys for partners Alice and Bob, while PLS generates keys by channel's characters. The noise in optical fiber and wireless channel makes the initial key between partners inconsistent, and the same key can be obtained only after key reconciliation process. Traditional reconciliation methods have disadvantages either in reconciliation speed or data utilization, and new algorithms based on error correction coding are prone to error diffusion when the initial key disagreement rate (KDR) is high. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a novel secret-key reconciliation algorithm based on two-dimensional error correction(2DEC), in this approach, data is arranged in two dimensions so that a faster reconciliation is realized. We analyze its theoretical bound of error correction capacity, and then design a scheme for accurate error correction. Thereafter, we combine 2DEC with the optimized Cascade, the joint algorithm achieves even better performance. It not only has a good robustness to the initial KDR, but also can effectively improve the reconciliation speed and data retention rate. Simulations show that the speed and data preservation is increased by 100% and 30% respectively when SNR is higher than 8dB. Hence, the proposed method can help QKD and PLS system improve secret-key generation rate, which is of great significance to realize a safer confidential communication in the future. © 2024 SPIE.

Cluster-preserving sampling algorithm for large-scale graphs

Graph sampling is a very effective method to deal with scalability issues when analyzing largescale graphs. Lots of sampling algorithms have been proposed, and sampling qualities have been quantified using explicit properties(e.g., degree distribution) of the sample. However, the existing sampling techniques are inadequate for the current sampling task: sampling the clustering structure, which is a crucial property of the current networks. In this paper, using different expansion strategies, two novel top-leader sampling methods(i.e., TLS-e and TLS-i) are proposed to obtain representative samples, and they are capable of effectively preserving the clustering structure. The rationale behind them is to select top-leader nodes of most clusters into the sample and then heuristically incorporate peripheral nodes into the sample using specific expansion strategies. Extensive experiments are conducted to investigate how well sampling techniques preserve the clustering structure of graphs. Our empirical results show that the proposed sampling algorithms can preserve the population's clustering structure well and provide feasible solutions to sample the clustering structure from large-scale graphs.
