A video saliency detection algorithm based on feature learning, called rOCT, is proposed in this work. To detect salient regions, we design multiple spatiotemporal features and combine those features using a support vector machine (SVM). We extract the spatial features of rarity, compactness, and center prior by analyzing the color distribution in each image frame. Also, we obtain the temporal features of motion intensity and motion contrast to identify visually important motions. We train an SVM classifier using the spatiotemporal features extracted from training video sequences. Finally, we compute the visual saliency of each patch in an input sequence using the trained classifier. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm provides more accurate and reliable results of saliency detection than conventional algorithms.

This paper reports a stator shape optimization design for reducing the cogging torque of single-phase brushless dC motor adopting an asymmetric air-gap to make them self-starting. Time step 2d-finite element analysis (FEA) was carried out to analyze the characteristics of a single-phase brushless dC motor. To reduce the cogging torque and maintain the efficiency and torque, the Kriging model based on Latin hypercube sampling (LHS) and a genetic algorithm (GA) were used. As an optimal design result, the cogging torque on the optimal model was reduced. Finally, the analysis and optimal design results were confirmed by FEA and the experimental results.

Image feature extraction is an important technology in image matching and retrieval. For the problem of high computational complexity of spatial domain image feature extraction using the SIFT algorithm, and by studying the relationship between dCT coefficient matrix and image, the paper designed the dCT coefficients reduced matrix of image and proposed the algorithm of SIFT feature extraction in dCT domain reduced image. Experiments showed that with the low loss of accuracy in image matching and retrieval, the method proposed can significantly improve the computational efficiency of feature extraction. © 2013 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

In 3d image processing,such as medical volume data and industrial CT volume data analysis,speckle noise suppressing significantly affects their *** paper utilizes a group of volume morphology arithmetic operators,mainly including volume open and volume close,by extending area morphology into 3-d *** these operators,the light and dark objects of small size could be removed directly from the 3-d space of the target objects,while the connectivity of the main 3-d target objects in the volume data is still *** improve the volume morphology operations efficiency,we decompose volume data in bitplanes instead of in gray scale space to reduce the binary *** verify the effect of the improved volume morphology operators,they are applied to suppress speckle noises in 3-d images of coral and rat skull and compared with original volume morphology *** results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper can significantly reduce computing time,while maintaining comparable results to original operations results.

In medical image processing,interactive image segmentation is an important part,because it can obtain accurate segment results with less human effort compared with manual *** proposed an improved algorithm of maximal similarity based region merging,compared with the algorithm proposed in [3],our algorithm use SLIC superpixels segmentation to obtain presegmented regions,using SLIC superpixles,it is easy to control the number of presegmentation *** also introduce the texture features differeces while rigion merging,so we can obtain the accuracy of similarity *** results show that our algorithm can obtain comparable results.

Many images suffer from poor *** is necessary to enhance the contrast of *** enhancement improves an image appearance by increasing dominance of some features or by decreasing ambiguity between different regions of the *** equalization(HE) is widely used for contrast enhancement in a variety of applications due to its simple function and ***,it usually results in excessive contrast enhancement,which causes the unnatural look and visual artifacts of the processed *** improved algorithms,such as Brightness preserving Bi-Histogram Equalization,recursive Mean-Separate Histogram Equalization,dual Sub-Image Histogram Equalization and so on,are devoted to preserving the input image brightness and will be disappointed when the input image has low luminance.A novel method based on histogram similarity is developed to overcome the drawbacks of the classic HE algorithms for gray scale *** to some of the conventional HE methods,the proposed method produces better contrast and image quality.

Packet classification is a very basic technique in supporting various advanced network services, for example, network measurement, quality of service, flow routing, and so on. Traditional decision tree-based packet classification algorithms often generate many redundant rules. To solve this issue, we propose GroupCuts, which employs two novel ideas. (1) Space relation-ship-based rule clustering: according to the analysis of classifiers, GroupCuts clusters the rules of similar size and then partitions the classifiers into subgroups. Building decision trees in these sub-groups achieves fine space performance. (2) dynamic Point Split: in order to reduce the rule duplication in decision trees, we select multiple rule projection points to accomplish space decomposition. Using simulations of 1,000 to 100,000 rule classifiers, we show that, compared with other existing algorithms, the proposed algorithm achieves an improvement in memory requirement without reducing the search performance.

For global community detection algorithm having high computation complexity and local community detection algorithm working bad in community quality, in this paper we propose an algorithm by finding the core nodes in different communities first, then use an algorithm based on transferring the similarity we propose in this paper to measure the similarity between core nodes with other nodes. Finally we divide the network by the similarity calculation *** proposed algorithm is tested on both our network and common networks, and is compared with the typical algorithms in community detection. Experimental results verify and confirm the feasibility and validity of the proposed algorithm.
