In this paper, we propose a Graph Inception Diffusion Networks(GIDN) model. This model generalizes graph diffusion in different feature spaces, and uses the inception module to avoid the large amount of computations caused by complex network structures. We evaluate GIDN model on Open Graph Benchmark(OGB) datasets, reached an 11% higher performance than AGDN on ogbl-collab dataset. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Efficient Language-instructed Skill Acquisition via Reward-Policy Co-Evolution

The ability to autonomously explore and resolve tasks with minimal human guidance is crucial for the self-development of embodied intelligence. Although reinforcement learning methods can largely ease human effort, it’s challenging to design reward functions for real-world tasks, especially for high-dimensional robotic control, due to complex relationships among joints and tasks. Recent advancements large language models (LLMs) enable automatic reward function design. However, approaches evaluate reward functions by retraining policies from scratch placing an undue burden on the reward function, expecting it to be effective throughout the whole policy improvement process. We argue for a more practical strategy in robotic autonomy, focusing on refining existing policies with policy-dependent reward functions rather than a universal one. To this end, we propose a novel reward-policy co-evolution framework where the reward function and the learned policy benefit from each other’s progressive on-the-fly improvements, resulting in more efficient and higher-performing skill acquisition. Specifically, the reward evolution process translates the robot’s previous best reward function, descriptions of tasks and environment into text inputs. These inputs are used to query LLMs to generate a dynamic amount of reward function candidates, ensuring continuous improvement at each round of evolution. For policy evolution, our method generates new policy populations by hybridizing historically optimal and random policies. Through an improved Bayesian optimization, our approach efficiently and robustly identifies the most capable and plastic reward-policy combination, which then proceeds to the next round of co-evolution. Despite using less data, our approach demonstrates an average normalized improvement of 95.3% across various high-dimensional robotic skill learning tasks. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Graph-Augmented Contrastive Clustering for Time Series data

The recent emergence of time series contrastive clustering methods can be categorized into two classes. The first class uses contrastive learning for universal representations, which can be effective in various downstream tasks, but overlooks important categorical information and clustering objectives, leading to unsuitable models. The second class incorporates contrastive learning into clustering objectives but fails to fully explore potential connections and structures between time series data. To this end, we propose the "Time Series Graph-augmented Contrastive Clustering (TSGCC) method", a graph-augmented contrastive learning framework aiming to create cluster-friendly features and assignments by iteratively optimizing contrastive loss. The method uses a weighted KNN graph to build positive and negative sample pairs, projecting the instances into a feature space with the dimensionality number of clusters. Experimental results demonstrate that TSGCC outperforms 18 advanced time-series clustering methods on the 36 representatives out of the 128 UCR benchmarks, achieving the best clustering results on 12 datasets, with the highest average rank (3.22) of RI and the second-highest average rank (3.89) of NMI among 18 clustering methods. We further compared our method with recent approaches on the entire set of 128 UCR datasets, demonstrating our method's broad applicability and effectiveness. © 2024, The Authors. WebCode2M: A Real-World dataset for Code Generation from Webpage Designs

Automatically generating webpage code from webpage designs can significantly reduce the workload of front-end developers, and recent Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have shown promising potential in this area. However, our investigation reveals that most existing MLLMs are constrained by the absence of high-quality, large-scale, real-world datasets, resulting in inadequate performance in automated webpage code generation. To fill this gap, this paper introduces WebCode2M, a new dataset comprising 2.56 million instances, each containing a design image along with the corresponding webpage code and layout details. Sourced from real-world web resources, WebCode2M offers a rich and valuable dataset for webpage code generation across a variety of applications. The dataset quality is ensured by a scoring model that filters out instances with aesthetic deficiencies or other incomplete elements. To validate the effectiveness of WebCode2M, we introduce a baseline model based on the Vision Transformer (ViT), named WebCoder, and establish a benchmark for fair comparison. Additionally, we introduce a new metric, TreeBLEU, to measure the structural hierarchy recall. The benchmarking results demonstrate that our dataset significantly improves the ability of MLLMs to generate code from webpage designs, confirming its effectiveness and usability for future applications in front-end design tools. Container based microservices have been widely applied to promote the cloud elasticity. The mainstream Docker containers are structured in layers, which are organized in stack with bottom-up dependency. To start a microservice, the required layers are pulled from a remote registry and stored on its host server, following the layer dependency order. This incurs long microservice startup time and hinders the performance efficiency. In this paper, we discover that, for the first time, the layer pulling order can be adjusted to accelerate the microservice startup. Specifically, we address the problem on microservice layer pulling orchestration for startup time minimization and prove it as NP-hard. We propose a Longest-chain based Out-of-order layer Pulling Orchestration (LOPO) strategy with low computational complexity and guaranteed approximation ratio. Through extensive real-world trace driven experiments, we verify the efficiency of our LOPO and demonstrate that it reduces the microservice startup time by 22.71% on average in comparison with state-of-the-art solutions.

Due to the widespread application of multi-robot systems, the efficient task assignment for a team of robots has become particularly critical for performing complex tasks. This paper studies the task assignment problem for multiple robots to visit a group of target locations with precedence constraints, which determine the order/sequence in which certain target locations need to be visited before others. A marginal-cost-based heuristic algorithm is developed to minimize the time for the robots to visit the last target location. The algorithm first uses a timestamp strategy to update the anticipated visiting time of each assigned target and the corresponding earliest time that each successor target can be visited under the precedence constraints. Then, it utilizes the topological sorting technique and the marginal-cost-based mechanism to insert the feasible target that induces the minimum marginal cost into the robots' current routes. Numerical simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm compared with the popular greedy algorithm and the existing simple iterative auction algorithm.

Sampling strategy (e.g., fixed farthest point sampling) of point cloud has been an essential step for developing practical solutions in 3D computer vision tasks. Previous fixed sampling is simple, but suffer from suboptimal performance for downstream tasks. To adapt to target networks properly, adaptive sampling methods with trainable parameters have been recently developed to enhance the performance. However, existing adaptive sampling methods still suffer from the over-coupling problem of target network, and thus become model-specific, which limits their practical applications. To address this issue, we propose a novel general cross-scale decoupled sampling method (GCD-sampling) for point cloud, which consists of original feature cache, cross-scale feature fusion and convex combination learning for better feature extraction. To reduce the coupling relationship with the target task network, our method only utilizes the point cloud coordinates as the input and output of itself. Besides, we introduce an arbitrary scale structure to enable parameter sharing across multi-scale sampling in point cloud networks. Extensive experiments on different architectures demonstrate the effectiveness of our method over other existing adaptive sampling methods. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). Dynamic searchable symmetric encryption (DSSE) enables users to delegate the keyword search over dynamically updated encrypted databases to an honest-but-curious server without losing keyword privacy. This paper studies a new and practical security risk to DSSE, namely, secret key compromise (e.g., a user’s secret key is leaked or stolen), which threatens all the security guarantees offered by existing DSSE schemes. To address this open problem, we introduce the notion of searchable encryption with key-update (SEKU) that provides users with the option of non-interactive key updates. We further define the notion of post-compromise secure with respect to leakage functions to study whether DSSE schemes can still provide data security after the client’s secret key is compromised. We demonstrate that post-compromise security is achievable with a proposed protocol called "Bamboo". Interestingly, the leakage functions of Bamboo satisfy the requirements for both forward and backward security. We conduct a performance evaluation of Bamboo using a real-world dataset and compare its runtime efficiency with the existing forward-and-backward secure DSSE schemes. Realizing Generalized Zero-Shot Learning (GZSL) based on large models is emerging as a prevailing trend. However, most existing methods merely regard large models as black boxes, solely leveraging the features output by the final layer while disregarding potential performance enhancements from other layers. Indeed, numerous researchers have visually depicted variations in the features learned across different layers of neural networks. Motivated by this observation, we propose a Vision Transformer (ViT)-based GZSL method named Depth-Aware Multi-Modal ViT (DAM2ViT), which exploits multi-level features of ViT. DAM2ViT incorporates a multi-modal interaction block to align semantic information of categories across multiple layers, thereby augmenting the model’s capacity to learn associations between visual and semantic spaces. Extensive experiments conducted on three benchmark datasets (i.e., CUB, SUN, AWA2) have showcased that DAM2ViT achieves competitive results compared to state-of-the-art methods. © 2024 IEEE.

With the growing demand for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) capable of precise navigation in intricate environments, achieving accurate depth control becomes pivotal. This paper introduced a pioneering study on depth control for an "Egg-shaped" underwater robot (EUR) utilizing the backstepping sliding mode control (BSMC) algorithm. By analyzing the kinematic and kinetic models of the EUR, a specialized control system was devised. This paper significantly advanced underwater robotics by presenting a robust and efficient solution for depth control, employing Lyapunov function in stability analysis. Simulation and experimental results validated the performance of the proposed algorithm in regulating the robot's depth across diverse operating conditions, surpassing traditional control methods in terms of stability and accuracy.
