In a multi-cloud storage system, provenance data records all operations and ownership during its lifecycle, which is critical for data security and audibility. However, recording provenance data also poses some challenging security and storage issues. In this paper, we present a secure and efficient multi-cloud storage data source scheme, BMDP. We use blockchain technology to ensure the secure storage of provenance data and design a smart contract to utilize the provenance data to ensure the proper operation of the multi-cloud storage system. Finally, we analyze the scheme’s safety and do simulation experiments to show that the scheme has practicality.

Travel data containing personal identification information needs to be anonymized before being shared and analyzed for privacy considerations. In a multi-modal transport system with different operators covering one segment of the market and collecting their own customers’ travel data, it is typically difficult to identify the trajectory of the same traveler across these different modes (e.g. shared bikes, metro, bus). This has been the main hurdle to the understanding of complete trip chains and door-to-door travel patterns. To address this challenge, this paper develops TBLink, a method to match individual travelers between different modes. The underlying idea is that if a traveler makes a transfer, the spatial-temporal signatures of the previous and next trips will be similar and must satisfy certain conditions. When this pattern happens for two travelers in the two datasets repeatedly, we can infer that the two travelers are actually the same person. Traveler matching is regarded as a stable matching problem and the Gale-Shapley algorithm is used to solve the problem. TBLink is demonstrated using metro and bus trip data from Chengdu city between January and March 2021. Results show that the precision, recall, and recovery rate of user matching are 80.81%, 92.77%, and 10.56% respectively, and the matching is more reliable as the dataset increases. Sensitivity analysis is performed to study the effect of several model parameters on the matching performance. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Mitigating Traffic Oscillations in Mixed Traffic Environments Using an Asynchronous Control Framework with Bayesian Optimization

This study presents a comprehensive longitudinal control framework for Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs) aimed at smoothing mixed traffic flow. The framework features a hierarchical and asynchronous control architecture that seamlessly integrates Model Predictive Control (MPC) and Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) methods, enabling real-time motion control for CAVs. In the MPC model, the desired velocity of downstream traffic is explicitly considered to promote smoother traffic flow. Additionally, a Bayesian optimization-based parameter tuning algorithm is developed for the proposed CAV control architecture, allowing it to dynamically adapt to changing oscillations and improve control performance. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework, two simulation experiments are conducted: one for mixed platoons and another for large-scale mixed traffic scenarios. The results demonstrate that the proposed control framework effectively mitigates oscillations and improves traffic flow smoothness while ensuring real-time applicability. Further investigation into large-scale mixed traffic reveals that even at lower CAV penetration rates (e.g., 10%, 20%), the proposed method effectively mitigates oscillations and enhances traffic smoothness. Notably, the performance in scenarios with front and random positioning (FP and EP) significantly outperforms middle and trail positioning (MP and TP), highlighting the influence of CAV distribution on traffic stability and oscillation mitigation. © 2024, The Authors. The propagation of spaceborne synthetic aperture radar (SAR) signal is affected by the ionosphere, which will lead to the degradation of the imaging quality, especially in the conditions of low-frequency and wide-bandwidth. This paper analyzed the influence of ionosphere on SAR imaging under different carrier frequency, different bandwidth, different ionosphere total electron content (TEC), different azimuth resolution and different scintillation strength by time-domain simulation. The results show that the ionospheric dispersion effect leads to SAR image defocusing, which is closely related to the radar carrier frequency, signal bandwidth, azimuth resolution and TEC value on the propagation path. At the same time, due to the influence of time delay, the dispersion effect also leads to the range displacement of SAR image. The ionospheric scintillation effect reduces the azimuth resolution significantly and in extreme cases imaging is not possible. © 2021 IEEE

Although recent years have witnessed the great success of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) in medical image segmentation, the domain shift issue caused by the highly variable image quality of medical images hinders the deployment of CNNs in real-world clinical applications. Domain generalization (DG) methods aim to address this issue by training a robust model on the source domain, which has a strong generalization ability. Previously, many DG methods based on feature-space domain randomization have been proposed, which, however, suffer from the limited and unordered search space of feature styles. In this paper, we propose a multi-source DG method called Treasure in Distribution (TriD), which constructs an unprecedented search space to obtain the model with strong robustness by randomly sampling from a uniform distribution. To learn the domain-invariant representations explicitly, we further devise a style-mixing strategy in our TriD, which mixes the feature styles by randomly mixing the augmented and original statistics along the channel wise and can be extended to other DG methods. Extensive experiments on two medical segmentation tasks with different modalities demonstrate that our TriD achieves superior generalization performance on unseen target-domain data. Compared with single weight networks, multiple weights networks are more practical and universal. Considering the unknown structure and time-varying factor in the actual system, the pinning synchronization of fractional-order complex-valued networks (FCVNs) with unknown parameters and time-varying coupling strength is studied. In addition, according to the identification and adaptive law, the unknown parameters can be identified, and the value of time-varying coupling strength is obtained. Based on fractional-order calculus theory and Lyapunov stability theory, sufficient conditions for pinning synchronization of FCVNs with time-varying coupling strength are derived. Finally, the effectiveness of the pinning controller strategy for fractional-order complex networks is illustrated by two numerical examples in complex-value space.

Based on the life cycle concept of oil sludge waste from the NdFeB manufacturing process, the process technology route was investigated to recover valuable elements from the oil sludge waste by hydro-metallurgical refining and calcium reduction to fabricate a sintered NdFeB magnet. The life cycle list was calculated and the environmental impact of the main processes was examined using the ReCiPe method, and the main factors of environmental impact were identified. The results showed that the hydrometallurgical technology route, compared with the calcium reduction technology route, resulted in 119.84% of human health hazards, 119.84% of ecological damage and 119.84% of resource. The consumption was found to be 13.08% higher than that of FDP. The sensitivity analysis revealed that the production of hydrochloric acid was highly sensitive to FDP, and power consumption was high to WTP in the hydrometallurgical technology route, and WTP in the calcium reduction unit process, and HTP in all processes in the calcium reduction technology route. The overall results show that reducing the environmental impact in the calcium reduction recovery process and accelerating the clean production of China's power resources are of great significance for the recovery of oil sludge waste for the preparation of recycled sintered NdFeB. © 2021 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.
