Movable antennas offer new potential for wireless communication by introducing degrees of freedom in antenna positioning, which has recently been explored for improving sum rates. In this paper, we aim to fully leverage the capabilities of movable antennas (MAs) by assuming that both the transmitter and receiver can optimize their antenna positions in multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) communications. Recognizing that WMMSE beamforming is a highly effective method for maximizing the MU-MIMO sum rate, we modify it to integrate antenna position optimization for MA systems, which we refer to as flexible WMMSE (F-WMMSE) beamforming. Importantly, we reformulate the subproblems within WMMSE to develop regularized sparse optimization frameworks to achieve joint beamforming (antenna coefficient optimization) and element movement (antenna position optimization). We then propose a regularized least squares-based simultaneous orthogonal matching pursuit (RLS-SOMP) algorithm to address the resulting sparse optimization problem. To enhance practical applications, the low-complexity implementation of the proposed framework is developed based on the pre-calculations and matrix inverse lemma. The overall F-WMMSE algorithm converges similarly to WMMSE, and our findings indicate that F-WMMSE achieves a significant sum rate improvement compared to traditional WMMSE, exceeding 20% under appropriate simulation conditions. The combination of visual and textual information in image retrieval remarkably alleviates the semantic gap of traditional image retrieval methods,and thus it has attracted much attention *** retrieval based on such a combination is usually called the content-and-text based image retrieval(CTBIR).Nevertheless,existing studies in CTBIR mainly make efforts on improving the retrieval *** the best of our knowledge,little attention has been focused on how to enhance the retrieval ***,image data is widespread and expanding rapidly in our daily ***,it is important and interesting to investigate the retrieval *** this end,this paper presents an efficient image retrieval method named CATIRI(content-and-text based image retrieval using indexing).CATIRI follows a three-phase solution framework that develops a new indexing structure called *** MHIM-tree seamlessly integrates several elements including Manhattan Hashing,Inverted index,and *** use our MHIM-tree wisely in the query,we present a set of important metrics and reveal their inherent *** on them,we develop a top-k query algorithm for *** results based on benchmark image datasets demonstrate that CATIRI outperforms the competitors by an order of magnitude.

Human tau promotes Warburg effect–like glycolytic metabolism under acute hyperglycemia conditions

The neurofilaments formed by hyperphosphorylated tau is a hallmark of tauopathies. However, the biological functions of tau and the physiological significance of its phosphorylation are still not fully understood. By using human tau (441 a.a.) transgenic (hTau) mice, murine tau KO mice, and C57BL/6J (C57) mice, unexpectedly, we found that under acute hyperglycemia conditions, JNK but not previously reported GSK3β mediated tau phosphorylation. Moreover, Akt, the inhibitory kinase upstream of GSK3β, was activated in a tau-dependent manner. Furthermore, under acute high glucose conditions, the presence of human tau significantly augmented Akt activation but inhibited 4E-BP1 phosphorylation simultaneously, indicating that human tau is also involved in regulating the alternative activation of mTORC1/2. By comparing the hippocampal membrane-associated proteome, we found that human tau influenced the homeostasis of protein-membrane association under acute hyperglycemia conditions. Of note, with respect to C57 and Tau KO mice, the membrane association of oxidative phosphorylation–related proteins was impeded by human tau in the hippocampus. In vitro study consistently showed that aerobic glycolysis was promoted in the presence of human tau under high glucose conditions, which maintained the ratio of NAD+/NADH. On the other hand, human tau restricted the level of oxidative phosphorylation, modulated the activity of SDH, and reduced ROS production upon high glucose challenging. In summary, the current study revealed that human tau played an important role in regulating glycolytic metabolism under acute hyperglycemia conditions, which is similar with the Warburg effect, through influencing the homeostasis of protein-membrane association. © 2025 The Authors

With exploding number of servers in large IT corporations, system environment management of servers at scale is a big challenge. System environment needs to be regularly updated to meet the system demand of services or fix emerging bugs. It is of vital importance to ensure stability of services during these system updates. However, the heterogeneity of workload and diversity of update scripts make it difficult to estimate how a system update affects the servers and services running on them. Unexpected failures caused by various reasons can also arise during or after update execution, making the situation even worse. This paper aims to solve the system management challenge with an operations platform called TJOSConf. During system updates, TJOSConf is able to interact with services to make sure that expected impacts and unexpected failures can be recognized and handled in time, making system update highly automatic and safe. Various system update scripts can be easily incorporated into TJOSConf as plugins, making the platform scalable. Use cases of TJOSConf in Alibaba prove its effectiveness. © 2022 ACM.

Battery aging is a major hindrance to the advancement of batteries, particularly in their use for deep peaking and auxiliary services in the electricity market. Although existing literature recognizes battery aging in dispatch scenarios, the analysis of aging mechanisms often depends on statistical methods such as the rainflow algorithm, which may result in empirical formulas that do not fully consider the complex coupling mechanisms involved in battery aging. In this paper, we innovatively propose a lithium-ion battery(LIB) storage dispatch model with embedded cycle aging mechanism: Firstly, the essay delves into three primary side reactions responsible for battery degradation: solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) film formation and thickening, lithium precipitation, and active particle cracking. Following this exploration, this paper delineates the impacts of these three side-reaction rates on the electrochemical model parameters. Thirdly, a pioneering model is introduced, which integrates side-reaction rates and furnishes analytical expressions for the non-uniform distributions of primary and side-reaction rates. In conclusion, the battery aging model was employed in simulations to engage in power market arbitrage, enabling a comprehensive study of the battery’s aging pattern over the course of a year. © 2024 IEEE.

The past decade has seen rapid growth of distributed stream data processing systems. Under these systems, a stream application is realized as a Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) of operators, where the level of parallelism of each operator has a substantial impact on its overall performance. However, finding optimal levels of parallelism remains challenging. Most existing methods are heavily coupled with the topological graph of operators, unable to efficiently tune under-provisioned jobs. They either insufficiently use previous tuning experience by treating successively tuning independently, or explore the configuration space aggressively, violating the Service Level Agreements (SLA). To address the above problems, we propose ContTune, a continuous tuning system for stream applications. It is equipped with a novel big-small algorithm, in which the big phase decouples the tuning from the topological graph by decomposing the job tuning problem into sub-problems that can be solved concurrently. We propose a conservative Bayesian Optimization (CBO) technique in the Small phase to speed up the tuning process by utilizing the previous observations. It leverages the state-of-the-art (SOTA) tuning method as conservative exploration to avoid SLA violations. Experimental results show that ContTune reduces up to 60.75% number of reconfigurations under synthetic workloads and up to 57.5% number of reconfigurations under real workloads, compared to the SOTA method DS2. © 2023, VLDB Endowment. Snapshot boosting: a fast ensemble framework for deep neural networks

Boosting has been proven to be effective in improving the generalization of machine learning models in many fields. It is capable of getting high-diversity base learners and getting an accurate ensemble model by combining a sufficient number of weak learners. However, it is rarely used in deep learning due to the high training budget of the neural network. Another method named snapshot ensemble can significantly reduce the training budget, but it is hard to balance the tradeoff between training costs and diversity. Inspired by the ideas of snapshot ensemble and boosting, we propose a method named snapshot boosting. A series of operations are performed to get many base models with high diversity and accuracy, such as the use of the validation set, the boosting-based training framework, and the effective ensemble strategy. Last, we evaluate our method on the computer vision(CV) and the natural language processing(NLP) tasks, and the results show that snapshot boosting can get a more balanced trade-off between training expenses and ensemble accuracy than other well-known ensemble methods.

A multidimensional comparison is presented, followed by a discussion of the challenges in data-centric methodology, optimization methodology, and decision-making application. This paper offers a methodological guide and outlines future directions for academia and industry to enhance decision-making in complex data environments.

Digital identity is one of the key elements to build a trust system in the digital economy era. Digital identity has empowered social governance and public services in the new era in many fields, and promoted the rapid development of digital economy. In this paper, a trusted digital identity based on identification code and trusted account blockchain fusion is proposed. Through the unified standard, unified coding identifier, combined with identity-based cryptographic algorithm and blockchain, identification code and trusted account blockchain fusion is realized, and a real, effective, safe and credible digital identity technology system is constructed. Trusted digital identity is a bridge connecting the virtual world and the physical world. It plays a strong supporting role in realizing the identity fusion and 'digital twin' of the physical world offline and the virtual world.
