1 Introduction With the rapid progress of Artificial Intelligence(AI)technology in object detection and face recognition,deep learning methods for face mask wearing detection have become increasingly mature and continuously take into account the needs of efficiency and ***,these conventional detection methods mostly ignore the complexity of real-world application scenarios,such as extremely darkness and gloomy *** unfavorable conditions lead to a series of image degradations that seriously hamper machine vision *** camera parameter adjustment,auxiliary lighting,or pre-processing enhancement[1]can weaken these negative effects to some extent to promote the detection,they will also result in increased hardware and time costs.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a global chronic intestinal inflammatory disease, and its incidence rate increases year by year with the progress of economic globalization. Currently, the diagnosis of IBD in children mainly relies on endoscopic examination, but scoring endoscopic images is a challenging issue, especially in distinguishing different types of ulcers. To address this issue, this article designs a mobile application to accelerate data annotation processing and may provide reference for other unlabeled datasets. In the context of image segmentation, blurring labels has become an important issue. Deep learning methods are widely used in medical image segmentation, but their accuracy depends on high-quality annotated data. However, there are low-quality noise areas in the annotated data, and obtaining accurate and high-quality annotations becomes more time-consuming with limited annotation budgets. This article proposes a collaborative training framework to improve learning of noisy pixels. This framework determines the label confidence of an image by calculating the similarity between image pixels and surrounding pixels. Then, two parallel deep networks were constructed for semantic prediction, which aimed to guide each other on pixels that may have noise. By applying consistency in dual network prediction, the semantic information of uncertain pixels is corrected as much as possible. Experimental results have shown that this framework is slightly superior to models trained with pixel level precise labels, thus more effectively utilizing existing annotated data in the case of fuzzy labels.

Facial expression editing has a wide range of applications, such as emotion detection, human-computer interaction, and social entertainment. However, existing expression editing methods either fail to allow for fine-grained editing, resulting in unnatural and unrealistic facial expressions, or generate artifacts and blurs, leading to poor image quality. In this paper, we propose a novel framework called StyleAU, which is based on StyleGAN and facial action units, to address these problems. Our framework leverages the pre-trained StyleGAN prior knowledge to enable action unit editing of the face in the StyleGAN latent space, allowing precise expression editing. In addition, we use an encoder to extract multi-scale content features to achieve high-fidelity image reconstruction. Our approach qualitatively and quantitatively outperforms competing methods for action unit manipulation and expression editing.

To enhance the generalization of multi-objective feature selection (MOFS) in classification, this paper proposes an evolutionary multitasking algorithm, diverging from previous approaches that exclusively target selected features. The algorithm integrates information from both selected and unselected features, introducing a novel objective to minimize the accuracy of unselected features. This objective, combined with the goal of minimizing classification errors for selected features, forms an auxiliary MOFS task. The paper presents a dual-population evolutionary multitasking framework that synergizes the main MOFS task with the auxiliary task. A knowledge transfer mechanism, based on accuracy preferences, seamlessly shares insights from the auxiliary to the main task, aiming to identify improved Pareto feature subsets. Empirical results demonstrate the superior performance of several state-of-the-art multi-objective algorithms within this framework, highlighting significant improvements across diverse datasets.

Intelligent decision-making (IDM) is a cornerstone of artificial intelligence (AI) designed to automate or augment decision processes. Modern IDM paradigms integrate advanced frameworks to enable intelligent agents to make effective and adaptive choices and decompose complex tasks into manageable steps, such as AI agents and high-level reinforcement learning. Recent advances in multimodal foundation-based approaches unify diverse input modalities—such as vision, language, and sensory data—into a cohesive decision-making process. Foundation models (FMs) have become pivotal in science and industry, transforming decision-making and research capabilities. Their large-scale, multimodal data-processing abilities foster adaptability and interdisciplinary breakthroughs across fields such as healthcare, life sciences, and education. This survey examines IDM’s evolution, advanced paradigms with FMs and their transformative impact on decision-making across diverse scientific and industrial domains, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in building efficient, adaptive, and ethical decision systems.

Federated Learning enables collaboratively model training among a number of distributed devices with the coordination of a centralized server, where each device alternatively performs local gradient computation and communication to the server. FL suffers from significant performance degradation due to the excessive communication delay between the server and devices, especially when the network bandwidth of these devices is limited, which is common in edge environments. Existing methods overlap the gradient computation and communication to hide the communication latency to accelerate the FL training. However, the overlapping can also lead to an inevitable gap between the local model in each device and the global model in the server that seriously restricts the convergence rate of learning process. To address this problem, we propose a new overlapping method for FL, AOCC-FL, which aligns the local model with the global model via calibrated compensation such that the communication delay can be hidden without deteriorating the convergence performance. Theoretically, we prove that AOCC-FL admits the same convergence rate as the non-overlapping method. On both simulated and testbed experiments, we show that AOCC-FL achieves a comparable convergence rate relative to the non-overlapping method while outperforming the state-of-the-art overlapping methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Human facial action units (AUs) are mutually related in a hierarchical manner, as not only they are associated with each other in both spatial and temporal domains but also AUs located in the same/close facial regions show stronger relationships than those of different facial regions. While none of existing approach thoroughly model such hi-erarchical inter-dependencies among AUs, this paper proposes to comprehensively model multi-scale AU-related dynamic and hierarchical spatiotemporal relationship among AUs for their occurrences recognition. Specifically, we first propose a novel multi-scale temporal differencing network with an adaptive weighting block to explicitly capture facial dynamics across frames at different spatial scales, which specifically considers the heterogeneity of range and mag-nitude in different AUs' activation. Then, a two-stage strategy is introduced to hierarchically model the relationship among AUs based on their spatial distribution (i.e., local and cross-region AU relationship modelling). Experimental results achieved on BP4D and DISFA show that our approach is the new state-of-the-art in the field of AU occurrence recognition. Due to the convenience and popularity of Web applications, they have become a prime target for attackers. As the main programming language for Web applications, many methods have been proposed for detecting malicious JavaScript, among which static analysis-based methods play an important role because of their high effectiveness and efficiency. However, obfuscation techniques are commonly used in JavaScript, which makes the features extracted by static analysis contain many useless and disguised features, leading to many false positives and false negatives in detection results. In this paper, we propose a novel method to find out the essential features related to the semantics of JavaScript code. Specifically, we develop JS-Revealer, a robust, effective, scalable, and interpretable detector for malicious JavaScript. To test the capabilities of JSRevealer, we conduct comparative experiments with four other state-of-the-art malicious JavaScript detection tools. The experimental results show that JSRevealer has an average F1 of 84.8% on the data obfuscated by different obfuscators, which is 21.6%, 22.3%, 18.7%, and 22.9% higher than the tools CUJO, ZOZZLE, JAST, and JSTAP, respectively. Moreover, the detection results of JSRevealer can be interpreted, which can provide meaningful insights for further security research.

Over the past decade, various methods for detecting side-channel leakage have been proposed and proven to be effective against CPU side-channel attacks. These methods are valuable in assisting developers to identify and patch side-channel vulnerabilities. Nevertheless, recent research has revealed the feasibility of exploiting side-channel vulnerabilities to steal sensitive information from GPU applications, which are beyond the reach of previous side-channel detection methods. Therefore, in this paper, we conduct an in-depth examination of various GPU features and present Owl, a novel side-channel detection tool targeting CUDA applications on NVIDIA GPUs. Owl is designed to detect and locate side-channel leakage in various types of CUDA applications. When tracking the execution of CUDA applications, we design a hierarchical tracing scheme and extend the A-DCFG (Attributed Dynamic Control Flow Graph) to address the massively parallel execution in CUDA, ensuring Owl's detection scalability. After completing the initial assessment and filtering, we conduct statistical tests on the differences in program traces to determine whether they are indeed caused by input variations, subsequently facilitating the positioning of side-channel leaks. We evaluate Owl's capability to detect side-channel leaks by testing it on Libgpucrypto, PyTorch, and nvJPEG. Meanwhile, we verify that our solution effectively handles a large number of threads. Owl has successfully identified hundreds of leaks within these applications. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to implement side-channel leakage detection for general CUDA applications.
