A modified universal pedestrian motion model: Revisiting pedestrian simulation with bottlenecks

Pedestrian flow through narrow exits is one the most important features of crowd dynamics and *** is a particularly important aspect of pedestrian simulation models in that the accuracy is highly dependent on their ability to produce realistic exit flow *** firstly identified the four parameters that are most critical for physical interactions of the social force model and then calibrated them against two well-controlled pedestrian *** these calibrated parameters,we discussed the reasonable settings of sensitive parameters for different levels of pedestrian ***,we revisited the basic questions about the effect of the exit location,the bottleneck length,and the effect of obstacles on pedestrian *** simulation results indicated that:(1)The effect of the exit location on the pedestrian egress efficiency is uncertain,and the evacuation efficiency is also related to the exit width and the level of urgency.(2)The"pass-way"after the exit also named as the bottleneck length has a negative impact on the evacuation performance only in the scenarios that the bottleneck length is not more than 2.0 *** the bottleneck length exceeds 2.0 meters,pedestrian outflow efficiency reaches an asymptotic.(3)Setting an obstacle near an exit is not leading to a longer pedestrian evacuation time,instead,it is effectively improving pedestrian evacuation.

The dynamic freight train diagram is the key link to realize the whole-process integrated transportation of goods and the key to realize the "According to the Timetable". This paper studies the optimization of freight train diagram based on the basic diagram for dynamic route selection with market orientation as the core. Firstly, considering the quality of freight service and the satisfaction of cargo owners, taking the minimum transportation time consumption of each freight train as the optimization goal, starting from the characteristics of dynamic traffic flow, considering the connection time of traffic flow with the train at the station and the arrival period of the loaded goods, the dynamic route selection optimization model based on the basic diagram of the train diagram is established, and the solution strategy of the improved particle swarm algorithm based on binary coding is designed. Finally, a small road network case is constructed to verify the feasibility of the model and algorithm. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this study,spent WO_(3)/V_(2)O_(5)-TiO_(2) catalysts used for selective catalytic reduction were treated by a hydrometallurgical process to comprehensively recover valuable metallic elements,such as W,V,and *** and Si impurities were preferentially removed by selective micro wave-assisted alkali leaching.W and V were leached by enhanced high-pressure leaching with efficiencies estimated at 95% and 81%.The leaching of W and V followed the nuclear shrinkage model controlled by the combination of product layer diffusion and interfacial chemical reaction.A synergistic extraction was applied to separate W and V using an extractant mixture of di-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid P204 and the primary amine *** extraction efficiencies of V and W reached 86.5% and 6.3%,respectively,with a separation coefficient(V/W) of *** product was precipitated after extraction to yield ammonium paratung state(APT) and NH_(4)VO_(3).The TiO_(2)catalyst carrier residue meets commercial specifications for *** comprehensive recovery process with the characteristics of high-pressure leaching and synergistic extraction realizes the resourceful utilization of the spent catalysts.

Road crashes remain a serious concern in Nigeria, and road user behavior is a significant contributing factor. This study explores the relationship between risky driving behaviors and emotional experiences among Nigerian drivers, with a specific focus on anger expression patterns and their association with anger-induced situations. Employing a nuanced approach through multilevel latent class analysis (MLCA), the research identifies three high-level groups and four low-level classes of drivers. Among the low-level classes, Easily Angered Drivers, Travel Impatience Drivers, Prudent Drivers, and Calm Drivers exhibit distinct characteristics, while the high-level groups encompass the Physical and Verbal anger expression group, the Anger Control group, and the Use of Vehicle to express anger group. Multinomial regression results reveal that male drivers are more likely to belong to the Physical and Verbal anger expression group, aligning with prior research. Travel Impatience Drivers demonstrate a tendency to express anger physically or verbally, especially amid travel-related frustrations. Easily Angered Drivers, particularly in younger age groups, are more likely to exhibit physical and verbal anger expression and vehicular aggression. This tendency may stem from deficiencies in driver training systems, which often fail to equip novice drivers with adequate emotional regulation strategies and conflict management skills on the road. Proposed interventions include improving driver training, rigorous traffic law enforcement, and public awareness campaigns to foster responsible driving.

Pathological image diagnosis is a fundamental and critical component of precision medicine, playing a pivotal role in clinical decision-making. However, due to the high heterogeneity of pathological images, existing models still face the challenges of insufficient feature representation, poor interpretability, and high computational costs. To address these issues, we propose a novel pathological image diagnosis model called GDKansformer, which integrates the Group-wise Dynamic Kolmogorov–Arnold Network with a Vision Transformer (ViT) architecture. Specifically, this model employs adaptive dynamic fitting and group-wise computation strategies to seamlessly embed an improved Kolmogorov–Arnold Network (KAN) into ViTs, thereby boosting pathological representation and interpretability. The proposed group-wise computation strategy effectively mitigates the distribution overfitting caused by the KAN structure and significantly reduces the computational costs. Furthermore, a Multi-view Gated Attention (MVGA) block comprising pixel-level non-local neighborhoods and adaptive local perception is designed to eliminate redundant non-feature information and enhance contextual interactions, thereby improving the feature discrimination of the model for high heterogeneity data distributions. Experimental results demonstrate that GDKansformer achieves high accuracy with lower parameters, highlighting the significant potential in facilitating pathological diagnosis.

At present, the freight train formation plan cannot dynamically reflect the changes in freight demand in the transportation market, which makes it difficult to guide the actual transportation production work and affects the economic benefits of enterprises. This paper takes Shenhua Heavy Duty Railway as the research object, studies the optimization technology of cargo train programming under dynamic planning type transportation organization mode, and proposes the optimization principle of dynamic cargo train programming of Shenhua Railway. By analyzing the characteristics of the cargo transportation organization of Shenhua Railway, the dynamic planning type transportation organization mode of Shenhua Railway is proposed. On the basis of the concept of the dynamic freight train operation scheme of Shenhua Railway, the feasibility of preparation optimization, influencing factors, and main principles, the idea of dynamic preparation optimization research from the perspective of synergistic consideration of heavy train operation scheme and empty train deployment scheme is also elaborated. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

With urban expansion and economic development, traditional industrial parks with single function cannot adapt to the pace of urban development. As a new type of industrial park, the industry-city integration has gradually become the development direction. There is no tailor-made quantitative planning scheme at this stage. Aiming at filling the gap, this research does the following work to provide quantitative guidance strategy for industrial park planning. This paper first analyzes the Transit-oriented development (TOD) model requirements of new industrial parks, and makes a detailed analysis of the interaction between land use and transportation. Secondly, based on the relationship between land use and transportation, a combined feedback model of the land planning model and the public transportation utility allocation model is established. The process of modeling is to plan the smallest land unit according to the principle of land use function combination and land use type to meet the needs of residents. The other is to plan public transportation with optimal road load according to the principle of public transportation guiding travel and maximizing travel efficiency. Notedly, this paper uses the TOPSIS method to normalize the planning score through the feedback relationship between land use planning and public transportation planning. Based the analysis, the genetic algorithm is used to optimize the planning score and obtain the best plan which provides quantitative guidance strategies for the industrial park planning. Finally, this paper selects the 'Blank Land' of Suzhou Industrial Parks for case analysis, and the best standardized score after planning is about 87 points. In order to further analyze the planning effect and the relationship between the planned area and the rest of the land, ArcGIS is used to carry out demand analysis and land use radiation range analysis of the planning scheme. The bulk of existing Federated Learning (FL) algorithms pay attention to supervised setting and assume that clients have fully labeled data. However, it may be impractical for all clients to obtain plenty of labels due to high annotation costs. Hence, the Federated Semi-Supervised Learning (FSSL) as a promising paradigm has better prospect in many realistic applications (e.g. medical scenario). Under Labels-at-Server scenario, most pseudo labeling based FSSL approaches use only the global model to generate pseudo-labels for unlabeled data, while the local models are ignored. When the local data distribution is much more different from the central server (e.g., Non-IID setting), the generated pseudo-labels may contain much noise, thus, resulting in more serious confirmation bias. To tackle the crucial issue, a novel Federated Semi-Supervised Learning via Joint Local and Global Pseudo Labeling (FedLGMatch) framework is proposed in this paper. The prominent advantage of the proposed FedLGMatch is that it allows local models trained in the last communication round to assist global model in generating pseudo-labels, which successfully emphasizes more clean pseudo-label learning at each client. Experimental results also show that FedLGMatch achieves significant performance improvements than other state-of-the-art models on the standard benchmark datasets.

Cooperative Ramp Merging for Mixed Traffic with Connected Automated Vehicles and Human-Operated Vehicles

The rapid theoretical development and commercialization of connected automated vehicle (CAV) has led to the problem of mixed traffic, i.e., traffic mixed with CAVs and conventional human-operated vehicles (HVs). The paper studies cooperative ramp merging for mixed traffic. Using discrete optimization, a cooperative ramp merging mechanism is developed to facilitate ramp merging, and to properly capture the cooperative and non-cooperative behaviours in mixed traffic. The mechanism can be described as a bi-level optimization program in which the optimal control-based trajectory design problem is imbedded in the merge sequencing problem. A bi-level dynamic programming-based solution approach is developed to efficiently solve the problem. A micro-simulation environment is built for model validation and analysis of mixed traffic. The results show that cooperative ramp merging leads to larger throughput and smoother traffic.
