Solar-light driven organic pollutants degradation by the recyclable photocatalytic membrane materials emerges as a promising technology for sewage purification. However, low generation of reactive oxygen species severely constraints their photocatalytic activity. Herein, we introduce a novel hydrophilic PU/SF/GO/AgI composite photocatalytic membrane fabricated via adding silk fibroin (SF) and graphene oxide (GO) for TC removal. By visible light irradiation, the PU/SF/GO/AgI membrane with 66.7 wt% SF and 0.05 wt% GO degrades TC with 7-fold increase in comparison with the PU/AgI membrane. The enhance photocatalytic activity is primarily attributed to its efficient generation of reactive oxygen species facilitated by the improved hydrophilicity and boosted charge separation. FTIR and electrochemical results demonstrate that the SF and GO with rich surface oxygen-containing groups contribute to the formation of Ag-O bonds for accelerating charge migration and separation. Significantly, the improved hydrophilicity of PU/SF/GO membrane can not only provide rich binging sites for AgI loading, but also benefit to attract small molecules for facilitating to reactive oxygen species generation. As a result, •O2-, •OH and H2O2 concentrations produced in PU/SF/GO/AgI membrane system reaches up to 53.20 μmol g-1 h-1, 7.89 μmol g-1 h-1 and 16.52 μmol, respectively, 6.7, 15.4 and 5.1-times higher than PU/AgI membrane system. Meanwhile, under LED irradiation of 12 h, TC degradation efficiency by the dynamic membrane reactor equipped with PU/SF/GO/AgI can reach up to 53% , exceeding the pure PU/AgI. Death-associated protein 3 (DAP3) is a highly conserved guanosine triphosphate (GTP) binding protein. As a component of the mitochondrial ribosome 28 S small subunit, DAP3 is involved in apoptosis pathways and plays a vital role in mitochondrial dynamics, mitochondrial protein synthesis, anoikis, and autophagy. Recently, DAP3 has been reported to participate in the development and progression of various cancers. In this review, we provide a brief overview of recent findings regarding the structure, subcellular localization, and function of DAP3 as well as its role in cancer development and progression.

The vaginal microbiome is critical for the reproductive health of women,yet the differential impacts exerted by the host and by ambient environmental variables on the vaginal microbiome remain largely ***,we conducted a comprehensive cross-sectional study of the relationships between the vaginal microbiome and 81 matched host and environmental variables across 6755 Chinese *** 16S rRNA sequencing,we identified four core vaginal microbiota with a prevalence of over 90%and a total median abundance of 98.8%.Twenty-four variables,including physiology,lifestyle behaviors,gynecologic history,social and environmental information,were found associated with the microbiome composition,of which bacterial vaginosis(BV)showed the largest effect *** was among the strongest explanatory variables and the vaginal microbiome dynamically succeeded with increasing age,especially with a composition turning point at the age of *** mediation analyses indicated that the effects of age on the microbiome could be mediated by variables such as parity number and *** further classified the vaginal microbiomes of the population into 13“Vagitypes”.Women with Lactobacillus iners-and Lactobacillus jensenii-dominated Vagitypes had significantly higher live birth rate than those with Vagitype dominated by Fannyhessea vaginae(53.40%,59.09%vs 21.43%;OR[95%CI]:3.62[1.12-14.87],5.39[1.27-27.36];P=0.031,P=0.021).This study provides a comprehensive overview of the associations between identified variables and the vaginal microbiome,representing an important step toward understanding of environment-microbe-host interactions.

Target Analysis and Suspect Screening of Per- and Poly-Fluoroalkyl Substances in Paired Samples of Maternal Serum, Umbilical Cord Serum, and Placenta Near Fluorochemical Plants in Fuxin, China

The levels of legacy per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) have been progressively growing in the environmental matrices and blood of residents living around the fluorochemical industrial park (FIP) in Fuxin of China over the past decade. Although some recent studies have reported occurrence of novel PFAS alternatives in biotic and abiotic matrices near fluorochemical facilities worldwide, little is known about novel PFAS congeners in maternal sera, umbilical cord sera, and placentas from the female residents close to the FIP and their possibly related health risks. In the present study, 50 paired samples of maternal and cord serum as well as placenta were derived from Fuxin pregnant women at delivery, and 21 target analytes of legacy PFASs in all the samples were analyzed via high-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC–MS/MS), revealing that PFBS, PFBA, and PFOA were the dominant PFAS contaminants observed in the whole samples with an overall increasing trend recently. Based upon the suspect screening through high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS), 49 novel PFASs assigned to 11 classes were further identified in the Fuxin samples, of which, 20 novel congeners in 4 classes were reported in human blood and placentas for the first time. Moreover, the coefficients for mother-placenta transfer (Rm/p), placenta-newborn transfer (Rp/n), and mother-newborn transfer (Rm/n) of legacy PFASs could be calculated with median values of 1.7, 1.1, and 2.0, respectively, and Rm/p, Rp/n, and Rm/n for each novel PFAS identified were also estimated with the median values of 0.9, 1.2, and 0.8 individually. Subsequently, possible biotransformation pathways of legacy PFSAs and PFCAs during placental transfer could also be proposed. In addition, significant correlations were determined among the neonate birth outcomes and serum concentrations of thyroid hormone, sex hormone, and glucocorticoid, together with the levels of certain legacy and novel PFASs in

Fault Diagnosis of Roadheader Cutting Head Based on Improved RCMDE and Optimised Random Forests

To address the challenges of extracting and identifying fault features from roadheader cutting vibration signal, a new fault diagnosis method of roadheader cutting head based on the refine composite multi-scale fuzzy dispersion entropy(RCMFDE) and hippo optimized random forest(HORF) was proposed. Firstly, RCMFDE was used to comprehensively characterize the fault feature information of the roadheader cutting head, and the fault feature data set was constructed. Secondly, the fault type was trained and tested by the HORF to realize the fault pattern recognition of the cutting head of the roadheader. Finally, the proposed method was applied to the experimental data analysis of the cutting head of the roadheader, and compared with the existing multi-scale fuzzy entropy and fine-complex multi-scale spread entropy fault feature extraction methods. The results of the trial indicate that RCMFDE performs better than the other two entropy approaches in discovering defect features, and hippo random forest outperforms extreme learning machine and support vector machine in error recognition. The fault diagnosis method can more correctly recognize the error type of the cutting head of the roadheader, and the rate of accuracy of the recognition obtained 100% . © 2025 Beijing Kexue Jishu yu Gongcheng Zazhishe. Trillions of microbes reside in the human body and participate in multiple physiological and pathophysiological processes that affect host health throughout the life cycle. The microbiome is hallmarked by distinctive compositional and functional features across different life *** evidence has shown that microbes residing in the human body may play fundamental roles in infant development and the maturation of the immune system. Gut microbes are thought to be essential for the facilitation of infantile and childhood development and immunity by assisting in breaking down food substances to liberate nutrients, protecting against pathogens, stimulating or modulating the immune system, and exerting control over the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal *** review aims to summarize the current understanding of the colonization and development of the gut microbiota in early life, highlighting the recent findings regarding the role of intestinal microbes in pediatric diseases. Furthermore, we also discuss the microbiota-mediated therapeutics that can reconfigure bacterial communities to treat dysbiosis.

Pregnant women are vulnerable to folate deficiency as its requirement is substantially greater than folate requirements for non-pregnant women. Since the 1990s, maternal folic acid supplementation has been adopted by the governments and health organizations around the world as the policy to prevent the birth defects, especially neural tube defects. Under the promotion of folic acid supplementation, however, the global prevalence of congenital heart disease continues to be increased. In the recent years, our research group has evaluated that the heterogeneity concerning the association between folic acid supplementation and congenital heart disease is high. Based on experiments with animal models such as zebrafish and mice, we have demonstrated that excessive folic acid supplementation led to cardiovascular development disorders and even early embryo death. In this review article, we first summarize the discovery of folic acid and the achievement of folic acid supplementation in the prevention of congenital diseases. We then discuss the transport and metabolism of folic acid particularly in the form of unmetabolized folic acid. Finally, we comment on the association of folic acid supplementation with congenital heart disease. Better understanding the dual character of folic acid supplementation on congenital heart disease may provide new insights into the potential role of folic acid and offer a fresh perspective on the prevention of congenital heart disease. © 2025
