In order to effectively obtain the signal from sensor, the analogy signal needs to be amplified and then converted into a digital signal for matching to the sensor characteristics. With a supercapacitive electric field sensor based on graphene aerogel, the response current signal from the electric field sensor is weak and unstable. Herein, a high gain and low noise preamplifier is developed, and an amplifier circuit with double T-type feedback network is proposed to reduce the Johnson noise for the amplifier. This design can reduce the thermal noise of resistance by using the smaller resistance under the same gain, and it can effectively reduce the interference of peak noise by adding the feedback capacitance, so as to improve the detection accuracy. The simulation results show that under the same gain condition, the Johnson noise can be reduced by 46% and the detection accuracy can be improved by 12% compared with the traditional T-type feedback network. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In the case of power grid cascading trip, this study puts forward a strategy to prevent cascading trip by changing the output of generator set. Firstly, according to the specific performance of the power grid under the cascade tripping, combined with the action behavior of the line current-type backup protection, and an expression equation for measuring the safety level index between the power grid and the cascading trip failure is given. Secondly, the vulnerable branch is found out through the safety level index, the output of the key power generation nodes on the branch is taken as the optimization variable, and the optimization model is established to improve the safety level index under the chain trip of the power grid. Finally, a combination of sensitivity analysis and particle swarm optimization(PSO) was used to analyze an example on the IEEE-39 node system. The results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the model and method, and provide a reference for preventing chain trip accidents. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Layer-3 load balancing is a key topic in the networking field. It is well acknowledged that flowlet is the most promising solution because of its good trade-off between load balance and packet reordering. However, we find its one significant limitation: it makes the forwarding paths of flows unpredictable. To address this limitation, this paper presents BurstBalancer, a simple yet efficient load balancing system with a sketch, named BalanceSketch. Our design philosophy is doing less changes to keep the forwarding path of most flows fixed, which guides the design of BalanceSketch and balance operations. We have fully implemented BurstBalancer in a small-scale testbed built with Tofino switches, and conducted large-scale NS-2 simulations. Our results show that BurstBalancer achieves 5%∼35% smaller FCT than LetFlow in symmetric topology and up to 30× smaller FCT in asymmetric topology, while 58× fewer flows suffer from path changing. Aiming at the cascading fault phenomenon of power system, this paper analyzes the disturbed branches involved in the initial fault and their relationship with the power generating nodes. Firstly, according to the performance of the initial fault branch in the cascading fault phenomenon and the action of relay protection, an expression form of evaluating the severity of the initial fault branch is given. Secondly, the relationship between the current of the residual system branch and the injection power of the nodes after the initial fault removal is analyzed. Then, on the basis of synthesizing the severity of the disturbed branch and its correlation with the power generating nodes, the key power generating nodes on the seriously disturbed branch are selected by clustering analysis. Finally, based on the key power generation nodes, the optimal power generation output model considering the power generation operation cost was established, the model was solved by particle swarm optimization (PSO), the model was simulated by IEEE39 bus system in MATLAB environment, and the correctness of the established model and method was verified. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Model Degradation Hinders Deep Graph Neural Networks

Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) have achieved great success in various graph mining tasks. However, drastic performance degradation is always observed when a GNN is stacked with many layers. As a result, most GNNs only have shallow architectures, which limits their expressive power and exploitation of deep neighborhoods. Most recent studies attribute the performance degradation of deep GNNs to the over-smoothing issue. In this paper, we disentangle the conventional graph convolution operation into two independent operations: Propagation (P) and Transformation (T). Following this, the depth of a GNN can be split into the propagation depth (Dp ) and the transformation depth (Dt ). Through extensive experiments, we find that the major cause for the performance degradation of deep GNNs is the model degradation issue caused by large Dt rather than the over-smoothing issue mainly caused by large Dp. Further, we present Adaptive Initial Residual (AIR), a plug-and-play module compatible with all kinds of GNN architectures, to alleviate the model degradation issue and the over-smoothing issue simultaneously. Experimental results on six real-world datasets demonstrate that GNNs equipped with AIR outperform most GNNs with shallow architectures owing to the benefits of both large Dp and Dt, while the time costs associated with AIR can be ignored. Anomaly detection refers to the identification of data objects that deviate from the general data distribution. One of the important challenges in anomaly detection is handling high-dimensional data, especially when it contains a large number of redundant attributes. Although traditional Isolation Forest (iForest) and Extended Isolation Forest (EIF) have performed well in anomaly detection, the detection accuracy is still extremely influenced by redundant attributes. In this paper, we propose a two-tier architecture named RS-EIF, to alleviate the negative impact of redundant attributes. Specifically, the RS-EIF combines the rough set theory and EIF algorithm and provides an effective basis for the EIF-based anomaly detection method by removing redundant attributes with rough set theory. Experimental results show that the RS-EIF algorithm performs better than the iForest and EIF algorithms in terms of anomaly detection rate, and the results of the combination of rough set theory and EIF are more prominent compared to the other combination methods.

Neural multi-atlas label fusion: Application to cardiac MR images

Multi-atlas segmentation approach is one of the most widely-used image segmentation techniques in biomedical applications. There are two major challenges in this category of methods, i.e., atlas selection and label fusion. In this paper, we propose a novel multi-atlas segmentation method that formulates multi-atlas segmentation in a deep learning framework for better solving these challenges. The proposed method, dubbed deep fusion net (DFN), is a deep architecture that integrates a feature extraction subnet and a non-local patch-based label fusion (NL-PLF) subnet in a single network. The network parameters are learned by end-to-end training for automatically learning deep features that enable optimal performance in a NL-PLF framework. The learned deep features are further utilized in defining a similarity measure for atlas selection. By evaluating on two public cardiac MR datasets of SATA-13 and LV-09 for left ventricle segmentation, our approach achieved 0.833 in averaged Dice metric (ADM) on SATA-13 dataset and 0.95 in ADM for epicardium segmentation on LV-09 dataset, comparing favorably with the other automatic left ventricle segmentation methods. We also tested our approach on Cardiac Atlas Project (CAP) testing set of MICCAI 2013 SATA Segmentation Challenge, and our method achieved 0.815 in ADM, ranking highest at the time of writing. Knowledge Graph is an important research field that involves the storage and management of knowledge, but the incompleteness and sparsity of Knowledge Graphs hinder their application in many fields. Knowledge Graph Reasoning aims to alleviate this problem by completing missing paths or identifying wrong paths between entities. Graph Convolution Network (GCN) based methods are one of the state-of-the-art approaches to this work. However, it is difficult to directly generalize to unknown nodes and utilizes valid information from the local neighborhood which results in poor flexibility and extensibility and will loss of important information. This paper presents EG-KGR, a plug-and-play knowledge reasoning model based on enhanced graph sampling and aggregate inductive learning algorithm to relieve the above problems and enhance existing GCN-based methods. Specifically, EG-KGR supports incremental characteristics, uses inductive learning to replace transductive learning, and designs random sampling and local information sampling optimization methods to improve the model's generalization ability, prediction accuracy, and running speed. Extensive experimental results show that our EG-KGR can achieve optimal results.

Knowledge Graph (KG) is an essential research direction that involves storing and managing knowledge data, but its incompleteness and sparsity hinder its development in various applications. Knowledge Graph Reasoning (KGR) is an effective method to solve this limitation via reasoning missing knowledge based on existing knowledge. The graph Convolution Network (GCN) based method is one of the state-of-the-art approaches to this work. However, there are still some problems, such as the insufficient ability to perceive graph structure and the poor effect of learning data features which may limit the reasoning accuracy. This paper proposes a KGR architecture based on a graph sequence generator and multi-head self-attention mechanism, named GaM-KGR, to improve the above problems and enhance prediction accuracy. Specifically, the GaM-KGR first introduces the graph generation model into the field of KGR for graph representation learning to obtain the hidden features in the data so that enhancing the reasoning effect and then embeds the generated graph sequence into the multi-head self-attention mechanism for subsequent processing to improve the graph structure perception ability of the proposed architecture, so that it can process the graph structure data more appropriately. Extensive experimental results show that the GaM-KGR architecture can achieve the state-of-the-art prediction results of current GCN-based models.
