With the continuous development of power grids, the scale of supercomputing clusters has also gradually increased to carry a large number of power system simulation calculations, and the problem of high energy consumption has appeared. To solve this problem, we propose a container virtualization-based supercomputing cluster for power system. We analyze the impact of containers on power simulation calculations and compare the energy consumption effects of various container scheduling and migration algorithms on clusters. Experiments show that compared to virtual machines with hypervisor, which consumes massive resources and reduces performances by 28.4%, the performance degradation of container on power simulation calculation is 1.3%, which can be ignored. The energy consumption of load-concentration or resource-and-load-balance container scheduling algorithms is up to 4.0% lower and at least 2.2% lower than other algorithms. In container migration, the method combining autoregressive model with most-correlation and resource-andload-balance algorithms is better than other methods, which not only minimizes energy consumption, but also has lowest number of migrations and SLA violations. Experiments verify the feasibility and advantages of container migration in power system computing clusters.

In this study, the efficacy of three different pretreatments of rice straw including alkaline hydrogen peroxide (NaOH-H2O2), electrochemically produced NaOH-H2O2 (eNaOH-H2O2) and electrohydrolysis (EH) was investigated. All three pretreatments allowed to reach 80% of total biogas production within 23 and 25 days which was 3 to 5 days faster compared to conventional NaOH pretreatment. The cumulative biogas production was enhanced by 8%, 22% and 14% for NaOH-H2O2, eNaOH-H2O2 and EH, respectively compared to traditional treatment. The eNaOH-H2O2 pretreatment decreased the crystallinity of cellulose and created a porous surface vein, thus promoting microbial degradation of lignocellulose. The findings of this study demonstrate that electrochemical pretreatment provides a promising approach for efficiently utilizing rice straw biomass to produce renewable electricity. © 2022, The Authors. Spatial Interference alignment(IA) is a promising scheme to efficiently mitigate interference and to enhance the capacity of a wireless communication network. In this paper, the sufficient conditions of spatial interference alignment operating under a realistic limited feedback are provided for a K-user MIMO interference channel. The transmit precoder's matrix index is fed back to the corresponding transmitter through an error-free non-interfered link. We investigate the number of feedback bits required for achieving the maximum theoretical multiplexing gain for the spatial interference alignment schemes considered and demonstrate the feasibility of spatial interference alignment under the limited feedback constraint investigated. It is shown that in order to maintain the same spatial multiplexing gain as that of the idealized scheme relying on perfect channel state information, the number of feedback bits per receiver scales as N d ≥ d i (M - d i ) log 2 SNR, where M and di denote the number of transmit (receive) antennas and the number of data steams for user i. Finally, the analytical results are verified by simulations for realistic practical interference alignment schemes relying on limited precoding matrix feedback indices.

In this paper, we investigate the performance of a practical aggregated LiFi-WiFi system with the discrete constellation inputs from a practical view. We derive the achievable rate expressions of the aggregated LiFi-WiFi system for the first time. Then, we study the rate maximization problem via optimizing the constellation distribution and power allocation jointly. Specifically, a multilevel mercy-filling power allocation scheme is proposed by exploiting the relationship between the mutual information and minimum mean-squared error (MMSE) of discrete inputs. Meanwhile, an inexact gradient descent method is proposed for obtaining the optimal probability distributions. To strike a balance between the computational complexity and the transmission performance, we further develop a framework that maximizes the lower bound of the achievable rate where the optimal power allocation can be obtained in closed forms and the constellation distributions problem can be solved efficiently by Frank-Wolfe method. Extensive numerical results show that the optimized strategies are able to provide significant gains over the state-of-the-art schemes in terms of the achievable rate. © 2021, CC BY.

In this paper, we consider a common unicast beamforming network where Alice utilizes the communication to Carol as a cover and covertly transmits a message to Bob without being recognized by Willie. We investigate the beamformer design of Alice to maximize the covert rate to Bob when Alice has either perfect or imperfect knowledge about Willie’s channel state information (WCSI). For the perfect WCSI case, the problem is formulated under the perfect covert constraint, and we develop a covert beamformer by applying semidefinite relaxation and the bisection method. Then, to reduce the computational complexity, we further propose a zero-forcing beamformer design with a single iteration processing. For the case of the imperfect WCSI, the robust beamformer is developed based on a relaxation and restriction approach by utilizing the property of Kullback-Leibler divergence. Furthermore, we derive the optimal decision threshold of Willie, and analyze the false alarm and the missed detection probabilities in this case. Finally, the performance of the proposed beamformer designs is evaluated through numerical experiments. © 2021, CC BY.

The forecast and analysis of the trend of the RMB exchange rate have been deeply explored by many researchers in the financial field, but the combination of public opinion sentiment data and historical market data to forecast the RMB exchange rate in the short term has been studied little. With the rapid development of the Internet, the influence of public opinion sentiment on the economy and society is increasing. Online public opinion sentiment data not only have an impact on stock prices [1] and commodity prices, but also have a significant impact on foreign exchange (Forex) rates. However, the public opinion data are not applied for the RMB exchange rate forecast, because the impact of public events on the exchange rate is ignored. Besides, the lack of exact temporal sliding window of public opinion ignores its timeliness and sensibility. © 2019 Association for Computing Machinery.

Objectives Although previous epidemiological studies have reported the effects of fetal exposure to phthalates and phenols on birth outcomes, evidence is limited. The objective of this study was to investigate whether prenatal exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals [EDCs;phthalates and bisphenol A (BPA)] is associated with birth outcomes and whether there are sex-specific *** We used data from the Korean CHildren’s ENvironmental health Study (Ko-CHENS) cohort. Exposure to phthalates and BPA was measured by urine tests, and the information on outcomes and confounders was obtained from delivery records, biomarker assessment, and a self-reported questionnaire. We performed multivariate logistic regression to estimate the association between exposure to individual EDCs and each birth outcome. Additionally, to evaluate the effects of EDC mixture exposure, we performed weighted quantile sum regression analysis. Subgroup analysis stratified by maternal age and sex at birth was performed to examine potential differences in *** This study included 2,176 mother-child pairs from the Ko-CHENS. We observed a significant association between the risk of PTB and exposure to BPA during early pregnancy and mono-carboxyoctyl phthalate (MCOP) during late pregnancy, with odds ratios of 1.23 (95% CI: 1.01, 1.49) and 1.29 (95% CI: 1.03, 1.62), respectively. Additionally, there was a positive association between exposure to MCOP during early pregnancy and the risk of LBW (OR: 1.39, 95% CI: 1.03, 1.89). For male infants, exposure to MCOP during early pregnancy was associated with the risk of LBW (OR: 2.44, 95% CI: 1.43, 4.15), and exposure to MCOP during late pregnancy was associated with the risk of PTB (OR 1.45, 95% CI: 1.05, 2.02).Conclusions This study presents quantitative evidence for the association between prenatal exposure to EDCs, especially BPA and MCOP, and PTB/LBW. Stencil is a basic building block widely used in many HPC areas and applications. It generally dominates the time cost and is critical to the overall performance. Given that heterogeneous many-core is frequently adopted to build super computers, porting and optimizing stencil codes on modern accelerator-based architectures is important. Porting is non-trivial, and optimization is more difficult as it requires better understanding of the underlying architecture. As a result, auto tuning targeting on accelerators such as GPU becomes a hot research topic. In this paper, we focus on tuning stencil automatically on SW26010, which is a heterogeneous many-core CPU equipped in Sunway TaihuLight SuperComputer, and mainly work on 2D stencil variants code in ROMS (Regional Ocean Modeling system). The code generator can generate codes running on slave cores for 50+ different FORTRAN stencil-alike loops in ROMS in seconds, and optimization methods are integrated into the generator as well. The performance is better than the directive based method (OpenACC) and the hand-drafted code by a junior programmer, and it is comparable compared with the code written by a senior programmer with several years of programming experience. © 2019 IEEE.

Modern bookcrossing leverages the mobile networks to help readers share books via convenient connection, and thus expedites the dissemination of information. However, the lack of traceability has significantly hindered the wide adoption of mobile bookcrossing, leading to loss of books. Meanwhile, the managerial inefficiency of current mobile bookcrossing systems becomes another obstacle for advancing the book circulation. To overcome these problems, we propose to leverage the promising blockchain technology with the merits of its immutability and cryptographic smart contract. In this paper, we present BookChain, a traceable and efficient blockchain-based innercampus book sharing system. BookChain stores the complete sharing data of an interested book permanently on blockchain, such that every reader can trace the borrowing history, which reduces the potential for loss of book. BookChain also introduces the use of smart contract to automate the circulation of books with minimal human intervention, resulting in the improvement of efficiency. The experimental results show the effectiveness and low-cost of the proposed system under high concurrent users.
