We report the broadband optical nonlinearities and ultrafast carrier dynamics of GO doped with CuS nanoparticles (GO-CuS) following the femtosecond pulse lasers. Both the pure GO and GO-CuS hybrid films are first synthesized by the vacuum filter deposition method and their optical nonlinearities are then examined in the wide wavelength range (400 nm-1064 nm) based on the femtosecond Z-scan technique. The results reveal that, compared to the pristine GO, the introduction of CuS not only makes the GO-CuS hybrid film switched from saturated absorption to reverse saturated absorption possible, but also achieves strong broadband optical nonlinear absorption responses and optical limiting effects. It is demonstrated that the strongest nonlinear absorption coefficient (∼3.6×10-7 m/W) appears at 400 nm excitation, which is dozens of times larger than that under the illumination of 1064 nm. By leveraging the femtosecond pump-probe technique, we further study the ultrafast carrier dynamics of the GO-CuS hybrid film carrying the fast and slow relaxation processes. Moreover, the physical mechanisms behind these excellent nonlinear optical responses are elucidated. The findings presented here indicate that the GO-CuS hybrid film can be regarded as a potential promising candidate in various ultrafast photonics devices. © 1983-2012 IEEE.

This paper considers a multi-antenna transmission strategy for high speed railway communications. In order to achieve better performance than conventional space-frequency block coding schemes, we propose a directional beamforming strategy for the High-speed railway (HSR) communication by exploiting some characteristic of the railway system including predetermined moving tracks and real-time positioning information. Moreover, for alleviating the effect of Doppler shift due to the moving train, a frequency offset precorrection method is also incorporated with direction beamforming. Theoretical Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain of the proposed beamforming scheme over traditional HSR communication schemes is also derived for illustrating the performance enhancement. Numerical results verify the effectiveness of our proposed scheme even with some kind of imperfect position information available at the transmitter.

The unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are efficient tools for diverse tasks such as electronic reconnaissance, agricultural operations and disaster relief. In the complex three-dimensional (3D) environments, the path planning with obstacle avoidance for UAVs is a significant issue for security assurance. In this paper, we construct a comprehensive 3D scenario with obstacles and no-fly zones for dynamic UAV trajectory. Moreover, a novel artificial potential field algorithm coupled with simulated annealing (APF-SA) is proposed to tackle the robust path planning problem. APF-SA modifies the attractive and repulsive potential functions and leverages simulated annealing to escape local minimum and converge to globally optimal solutions. Simulation results demonstrate that the effectiveness of APFSA, enabling efficient autonomous path planning for UAVs with obstacle avoidance.

This paper addresses communication bandwidth reduction and energy efficiency enhancement of a peer-to-peer sensor network for distributed multitarget tracking under unknown clutter rate and detection profile. We propose an event-triggered distributed bootstrap cardinalized probability hypothesis density (CPHD) filter, where the local filter consists of an estimator that estimates the clutter and detection parameters, and a tracker that estimates the number and states of targets. Specifically, the proposed approach enforces each sensor to broadcast its local posterior density only when it has high estimation quality and significant information gain, wherein the former is determined by the outputs of the local estimator and tracker, while the latter is measured via the Jensen-Shannondivergence. Then, we develop a modified weighted arithmetic average fusion method to separately fuse the cardinality distributions and intensity functions, in which the fusion weights are constructed based on estimation qualities and triggering thresholds, which is incorporated into the distributed flooding scheme for distributed averaging. Additionally, the Gaussian mixture implementations of the proposed event-triggered distributed bootstrap CPHD filter are given, where only Gaussian components with high weights are applied, thus reducing the effect of false alarms and, consequently, achieving a partial consensus across the network. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated through simulation experiments. © 1965-2011 IEEE.

This notes focuses on the issue of whether or not the state of a plant can be estimated when the inputs of communication channel involve noise and disturbance simultaneously. It turns out to calculate the maximum capacity of stationary memoryless multiple quasi-access channel under nonstochastic information theory. It is shown that the maximum information rate over such a channel is determined by a convex hull spanned by the zero-error capacities which are specified on the underlying sample spaces. Moreover, the state of a plant could be estimated provided that the maximal information rate is strictly greater than the topology entropy. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

According to the standard for the GSM for railway(GSM-R) wireless systems in China train control system level 3(CTCS-3),the control data transfer delay should be no larger than 500 ms with greater than99% *** of both non-redundant networks and intercross redundant networks and cases of single Mobile terminals(MTs) and redundant MTs on one train are considered,and the corresponding vehicle-ground communication models,delay models,and fault models are *** simulation results confirm that the transfer delay can meet the standard requirements under all *** particular,the probability is greater than 99.996% for redundant MTs and networks,and the standard of transfer delay in CTCS-3 will be improved inevitably.

Understanding regional carbon emissions from human activities, particularly their spatio-temporal patterns, is essential for implementing decarbonization strategies and cultivating a low-carbon economy. This study develops a spatial visualization model to estimate carbon emissions in Southeast Asia using calibrated nighttime light data, with DMSP-OLS (Defense Meteorological Satellite Program Operational Linescan system) and NPP-VIIRS (national Polar-orbiting Partnership Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite) standardized through polynomial regression and machine learning to ensure consistency. Emissions in Southeast Asia increased by 2.51 times from 1992 to 2022, shifting from gradual to rapid growth. Validation against Open-source Data Inventory for Anthropogenic CO₂ (ODIAC) and Emissions Database for Global Atmospheric Research (EDGAR) shows strong agreement in high-emission urban areas but discrepancies in low-emission rural regions due to data sparsity and satellite sensor limits. Spatial analysis reveals that major Southeast Asian cities and their peripheries exhibit robust, sustained growth, while rural, less-developed areas show slower trends, highlighting persistent urban-rural disparities. These urban regions demonstrate a “circular economy advantage”, where per-unit-area carbon emissions steadily rise in economically advantageous zones. Despite high model accuracy, uncertainties persist due to variations in regional economic activities and the limitations of satellite-based emission proxies. Forecasts suggest elevated emission levels in major cities will continue, while changes in other areas remain relatively minimal. Consequently, achieving a low-carbon economy in Southeast Asia requires a top-down approach, emphasizing infrastructure enhancement, resource and energy optimization, and fostering a sustainable, circular socio-economic system. © 2025 The Author(s)

We consider a multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) system using block diagonalization and eigenbeam-space division multiplexing to suppress inter-user interference and inter-stream interference. In time-varying environments, the performance seriously degrades due to mistracking of beamforming. A channel prediction scheme can eliminate the effect of the time-varying environments. In this paper, using indoor measurement data, we evaluate the bit error rate (BER) performance of a multi-user MIMO system with channel prediction based on an autoregressive model. It is shown that the proposed channel prediction technique can improve the BER performance significantly. © 2013 IEEE.
