In RFID systems, the grouping problem is to efficiently group all tags according to a given partition such that tags in the same group will have the same group ID. Unlike previous research on the unicast transmission from a reader to a tag, grouping provides a fundamental mechanism for efficient multicast transmissions and aggregate queries in large RFID-enabled applications. A message can be transmitted to a group of m tags simultaneously in multicast, which improves the efficiency by m times when comparing with unicast. We study fast grouping protocols in large RFID systems. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first attempt to tackle this practically important yet uninvestigated problem. We start with a straightforward solution called the Enhanced Polling Grouping (EPG) protocol. We then propose a time-efficient FIltering Grouping (FIG) protocol that uses Bloom filters to remove the costly ID transmissions. We point out the limitation of the Bloom-filter based solution due to its intrinsic false positive problem, which leads to our final ConCurrent Grouping (CCG) protocol. With a drastically different design, CCG is able to outperform FIG by exploiting collisions to inform multiple tags of their group ID simultaneously and by removing any wasteful slots in its frame-based execution. Simulation results demonstrate that our best protocol CCG can reduce the execution time by a factor of 11 when comparing with a baseline polling protocol.

Mining based on opinions can extract useful information from users' comments. After doing cluster and analysis on the information, users can get a detailed understanding of the commodity, then determine to buy the commodity or not. In this paper, firstly, we extract evaluation objects and evaluation words, then cluster the evaluation objects. Next based on SO-PMI algorithm, judge the polarity of evaluation words and determine their polarity intensity values, then use K-means clustering algorithm to cluster the evaluation words. Last, for every kind of target evaluation object, make a count on the proportion of each kind evaluation word, and show the result to users in an intuitive way. This paper uses noun phrase pattern to match comments to extract evaluation objects and put forward the thematic words extraction algorithm. On judging the evaluation words' polarity, this paper establishes an emotional seed dictionary for each target object. The method of establishing dictionary for every attribute can eliminate the influence that less-correlation evaluation words have on the polarity judgment.

In the concurrent dual-band digital predistortion (DPD), it is required that each band of interest be accurately measured, so that the in-band distortion can be modeled and suppressed. However when the two bands are closely spaced, the inter-band modulation by-products overlap with the cross-modulation and the in-band intermodulation, thus leading to linearization performance degradation. On the other hand, by directly applying the single band linearization for closely-spaced dual-band signals, the one-band DPD approach will saturate in performance due to the wide bandwidth as well as the high nonlinear order and memory depth required resulting in an ill-conditioning problem. To resolve the spectral overlaps taking place in closely-spaced dual wide-band system, (1) the in-band intermodulation, (2) the cross-modulation, and (3) the inter-band modulation by-products are jointly extracted in the new proposed dual-band PA characterization scheme to yield an improved frequency/time selective modeling. The signals of interest extracted in each band using the proposed model are then used for dual-band DPD coefficient extraction. Improved modeling and linearization performances by up to 5 dB are verified with experiments performed on two 40-MHz LTE-advanced signals 40 MHz apart.

Xtext is a framework for developing programming languages and domain specific languages (DSLs). Xtext contains a language in- frastructure including parsers, compiler and interpreter. In recent years, it has been applied to develop various DSLs. To benefit from Xtext, in certain cases, it is needed to transform an Extend Backus Naur Form (EBNF) based language to the Xtext grammar. For example, the well- known UML profile MARTE has a BNF-based Value Specification Lan- guage (VSL). It is needed to transform MARTE VSL in EBNF to a MARTE VSL Xtext grammar for the purpose of enabling tool integra- tion. In this paper, as the first step towards a fully automated trans- formation from EBNF to Xtext, a number of transformation rules are defined. The ultimate objective of the project is to provide developers a fully featured and customizable Eclipse-based IDE for developing DSLs using EBNF grammar or enabling tool integration by providing trans- formation from EBNF to Xtext.

Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO) has shown its advantages not only in dealing with continous optimization problems, but also in dealing with discrete optimization problems. Binary Particle Swarm Optimization(BPSO), the discrete version of PSO, has been widely applied to many areas. Although there are some variations aiming to improve BPSO's performance, none of them has been proven to be a promissing alternative. In this paper, we propose a novel binary particle swarm optimization called Fitness Proportionate Selection Based Binary Particle Swarm Optimization(FPSBPSO). We test FPSBPSO's performance in function optimization problems and multidimension knapsack problems. Experimental results show that FPSBPSO can find better optima than BPSO and a variation of BPSO.

In this paper, we investigate the cooperative distributed energy generation and energy trading for future smart *** our model, a group of energy users, who are equipped with the capabilities of distributed energy generation, are allowed to trade energy in a cooperative manner with the goal to minimize their total energy-provisioning cost while meeting the local demand of each individual energy user. Moreover, each user also expects to benefit from the cooperative energy generation and trading with the others. Motivated by these objectives, we first jointly determine the optimal energy scheduling decisions for all energy users such that their total energy-provisioning cost can be minimized. Then, based on the optimal energy scheduling decisions, we further determine the optimal transaction costs associated with the users' energy trading to ensure that each of them can positively benefit from the cooperation. Extensive numerical results are provided to show the advantages of the proposed cooperative energy generation and trading model as well as our proposed algorithms to achieve the optimal solutions.
