The new hit-aim positioning algorithm based on template matching is proposed, which aim at airport hit-aim location problem in the case of that the airport presents in infrared images partially. In the algorithm, the homogeneity transformation based on co-occurrence matrices was brought forward to enlarge the difference between the airfield runway and background firstly. After the transformed image being segmented, morphologic filter was applied to the segmented binary image to improve airfield runway completeness by filling the small hole in the runway region, and to suppress background clutter by clearing up the remnant fragment in the background area. Later, the multiple templates matching method, in which the distribution pattern among the templates was utilized to improve the matching reliability and positioning precision, was performed to match the weighted structure templates with the extracted binary image. The hit-aim was able to be located indirectly with relatively position relation between the hit-aim and templates. The preparation method for weighted structure templates based on the satellite visible image was also given. The experiment shows that the proposed algorithm can achieved high matching rate, and have rather robustness to scale and rotation. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Advanced mammalian target identification derived from the perception of target's manifold and measurement manifolddistance. It does not rely on object's segmented accuracy, not depend on target's variety model, and adapt to a range of changes on targets. In this paper, based on the existed manifold learning algorithm, set up a new bionic automatic target recognition model, discussed the targets manifold knowledge acquisition and the knowledge expression architecture, gave a manifold knowledge-based new method for automatic target recognition. Experiments show that the new method has a strong adaptability to targets various transform, and has a very high correctly identification probability. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

As the demand of higher image quality and greater processing capabilities are growing, obtaining higher data bandwidth for on-chip processing is becoming a more and more important issue. DMA (Direct Memory Access) component, as the key element in stream processing SoC (System on Chip) [1], should be deeply researched and designed to satisfy the high data bandwidth requirement of processing units. In this paper, we introduce a scalab.e high-performance DMA architecture for complex SoC to satisfy rigorous high sustained bandwidth and versatile functionality requirements. Several techniques and structures are proposed in this paper. An integrated verification environment is also built for our design to fully verify its functionality. And the performance improvement by using our architecture is analyzed. At the end of the paper, the post-simulation and tape-out results are provided. The whole implementation has been silicon proven to be functional and efficient. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

A new path planning method for UAV in static workspace is presented. The method can find a nearly optimal path in short time which satisfies the UAV kinematic constraints. The method makes use of the skeletons to construct the graph of the planning space considering the configuration of the obstacles and utilizes the graph to find a shortest collision-free path, and a novel technique is utilized to convert the free path into a feasible path. The method can be applied to different applications and easy to be implemented. Experimental results showed that the path planning can be done in a fraction of second on a contemporary workstation (2-3 seconds) under the condition of satisfying the kinematic constraints. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

It is difficult to meet both direction and curvature constraints for traditional Fast Marching (FM) method in path planning. Based on adjusting the cost function in Eiknoal equation-the control equation for FM, a new model for computing the integrated cost function was presented in this paper. A relationship formula about curvature radius was obtained and three kinds of adjusting strategies were given;two of them were used to modify the route to meet with the requires of turning constraint in this paper. Experiments showed that the improved model can be used to plan the path with FMM for agent such as unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or robot, which is limited to pass through the scene matching areas. And our preliminary experiments demonstrated that the strategies are feasible and efficient to obtain path with certain curvature radius. The model can also be used to represent the problem such as an aircraft flying in a flow field. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Traditional path planning methods are too slow to meet the real-time requirement in practical applications. In order to solve this problem, an idea of path net was proposed in this paper. The path planning procedure is divided into two steps: network segment planning and segment assembling. The first step was done with Fast Marching Method, including port selection of segment and network segment planning. Second step, the A* searching method was chosen to select segments for assembling. Experiments demonstrated that our method can obtain an optimal route in a few of seconds after the start and goal are given while several minutes are needed for traditional methods. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

This paper explores Chinese semantic role lab.ling (SRL) for nominal predicates. Besides those widely used features in verbal SRL, various nominal SRL-specific features are first included. Then, we improve the performance of nominal SRL by integrating useful features derived from a state-of-the-art verbal SRL system. Finally, we address the issue of automatic predicate recognition, which is essential for a nominal SRL system. Evaluation on Chinese NomBank shows that our research in integrating various features derived from verbal SRL significantly improves the performance. It also shows that our nominal SRL system much outperforms the state-of-the-art ones. © 2009 ACL and AFNLP.

The advance of image processing makes knowledge-based automatic image interpretation much more realistic than ever. In the domain of remote sensing image processing, the introduction of knowledge enhances the confidence of recognition of typical ground objects. There are mainly two approaches to employ knowledge: the first one is scattering knowledge in concrete program and relevant knowledge of ground objects are fixed by programming;the second is systematically storing knowledge in knowledge base to offer a unified instruction for each object recognition procedure. In this paper, a knowledge-based framework for ground objects recognition in remote sensing image is proposed. This framework takes the second means for using knowledge with a hierarchical architecture. The recognition of typical airport demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed framework. © 2009 Copyright SPIE - The International Society for Optical Engineering.

Two of the most significant factors in the success of today's system-on-chip (SoC) designs are the ability to deliver efficient access to off-chip high speed memory and the ability to be compatible with several different interface-timings of several different sorts of memories. And the scheduling scheme of data streams for multi-master and multi-outstanding requests situation in complex SoC should be considered carefully, too. This paper introduces a novel general external memory interface (GEMI) architecture for the high performance and high flexibility memory interface. Several techniques and methods, i.e. data and command buffers based on asynchronous FIFO, optimized bank management, multi-port access scheduler, request reorder unit, are proposed in this paper for fulfilling the requirements mentioned above. Some techniques are specially proposed for data streams scheduling in complex SoC. At the end of the paper, the simulation and tape-out results are provided. The whole implementation of architecture is proven to be not only functional and efficient, but also flexible and reusable by simulation and silicon verification. © 2008 IEEE.

This paper apply computer image processing and pattern recognizition methods to solve the problem of auto classification and counting of leukocytes (white blood cell) in peripheral blood.. In this paper a new leukocyte arithmetic of five-part based on image process and pattern recognizition is presented, which relized auto classify of leukocyte. The first aim is detect the leukocytes. A major requirement of the whole system is to classify these leukocytes to 5 classes. This arithmetic bases on notability mechanism of eyes, process image by sequence, divides up leukocytes and pick up characters. Using the prior kwonledge of cells and image shape information, this arithmetic divides up the probable shape of Leukocyte first by a new method based on Chamfer and then gets the detail characters. It can reduce the mistake judge rate and the calculation greatly. It also has the learning fuction. This paper also presented a new measurement of karyon's shape which can provide more accurate information. This algorithm has great application value in clinical blood test.
