Cooperation of CPU and hardware accelerator on SoC FPGA to accomplish computational intensive tasks, provides significant advantages in performance and energy efficiency. However, current operating systems provide little support for accelerators: the OS is unaware that a computational task can be executed either on a CPU core or an accelerator, and provides no assistance in efficient management of data sharing between CPU and accelerator on the DRAM, such as zero copy, data coherence. It’s also hard for current OS to allocate large contiguous physical memory space for accelerator. In this paper, we select the Xilinx ZYNQ as target and qualitatively analyze methods of sharing data. Besides using high-performance (HP) AXI interfaces of the ZYQN device, we develop a novel memory management system for FPGA-based accelerator. It provides a unified virtual space for CPU cores and accelerator so that they can access the same memory space in the operating systems user space. For a deep convolutional neural network task, our design gains up to speed-up of 5. 34x compared to traditional processoraccelerator cooperation. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2015.

As the wide application of multi-core processor architecture in the domain of high performance computing, fault tolerance for shared memory parallel programs becomes a hot spot of research. For years, checkpointing has been the dominant fault tolerance technology in this field, and recently, many research works have been engaged with it. However, to those programs which deal with large amount of data, checkpointing may induce massive I/O transfer, which will adversely affect scalability. To deal with such a problem, this paper proposes a fault tolerance approach, making use of redundancy, for shared memory parallel programs. Our scheme avoids saving and restoring computational state during the program's execution, hence does not involve I/O operations, so presents explicit advantage over checkpointing in scalability. In this paper, we introduce our approach and the related compiler tool in detail, and give the experimental evaluation result. ©2010 IEEE.

Spin-transfer torque random access memory (STT-RAM) is one of the most promising substitutes for universal main memory and cache due to its excellent scalability, high density and low leakage power. Nevertheless, the current non-volatile STT-RAM cache architecture also has some drawbacks, such as long write latency and high write energy, which limit the application of STTRAM in the top level cache design. To solve these problems, we relax the retention time of STT-RAM to explore its different write performance, and propose a novel STT-RAM L1 cache architecture implemented with volatile STT-RAM as well as its related refresh scheme. The performance of proposed design is the same as SRAM L1 cache while its overall power consumption is only 63.8% of the latter one. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2016.

Network traffic classification is crucial for network security and network management and is one of the most important network tasks. Current state-of-the-art traffic classifiers are based on deep learning models to automatically extract features from packet streams. Unfortunately, current approaches fail to effectively combine the structural information of traffic packets with the content features of the packets, resulting in limited classification accuracy. In this paper, we propose a graph neural network model for network traffic classification, which can well perceive the interaction feature of packets in traffic. Firstly, we design a graph structure for packets' flows to hold the interaction information between packets, which embeds both packet contents and sequence relationships into a unified graph. Secondly, we propose a graph neural network framework for graph classification to automatically learn the structural features of the packets' flows together with the packets' features. Extensive evaluation results on real-world traffic data show that the proposed model improves the prediction accuracy of improves the prediction accuracy by 2% to 37% for malicious traffic classification. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid development of Internet technology, various network attack methods come out one after the other. SQL injection has become one of the most severe threats to Web applications and seriously threatens various Web application services and users data security. There are both traditional detection methods and emerging methods based on deep learning technology with higher detection accuracy for the detection of SQL injection. However, they are all for detecting a single statement and cannot determine the stage of the attack. To further improve the effect of SQL injection detection, this paper proposes an integrated detection framework for SQL injection behavior based on both text features and traffic features. We propose a SQL-LSTM model based on deep learning technology as the detection model at the text features level. Meanwhile, the features of the data traffic are merged. MapReduce is commonly used as a parallel massive data processing model. When deploying it as a service over the open systems, the computational integrity of the participants is becoming an important issue due to the untrustworthy workers. Current duplication-based solutions can effectively solve non-collusive attacks, yet most of them require a centralized worker to re-compute additional sampled tasks to defend collusive attacks, which makes the worker a bottleneck. In this paper, we try to explore a trusted worker scheduling framework, named VAWS, to detect collusive attackers and assure the integrity of data processing without extra re-computation. Based on the historical results of verification, we construct an Integrity Attestation Graph (IAG) in VAWS to identify malicious mappers and remove them from the framework. To further improve the efficiency of identification, a verification-couple selection method with the IAG guidance is introduced to detect the potential accomplices of the confirmed malicious worker. We have proven the effectiveness of our proposed method on the improvement of system performance in theoretical analysis. Intensive experiments show the accuracy of VAWS is over 97% and the overhead of computation is closed to the ideal value of 2 with the increasing of the number of map tasks in our scheme. Recently, Cloud computing, as one of the hottest words in IT world, has drawn great attention. Many IT companies such as IBM, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Yahoo and others vigorously develop cloud computing systems and related products to customers. However, there are still some difficulties for customers to adopt cloud computing, in which many security issues exist, because data for a customer is stored and processed in cloud, not in a local machine. This paper briefly introduces cloud computing and its key concepts. Grid computing presents a new trend to distributed computation and Internet applications, which can construct a virtual single image of heterogeneous resources, provide uniform application interface and integrate widespread computational resources into super, ubiquitous and transparent aggregation. In the adoption of Grid computing, China, who is facing more resource heterogeneity and other specific demands, has put much effort on both research and practical utilization. In this paper, we introduce the major China Grid research projects and their perspective applications. First we give the overview of the four government-sponsored programs in Grid, namely the China national Grid, ChinaGrid, NSFC Grid, and ShanghaiGrid. Then we present six representative ongoing Grid systems in details, which are categorized into Grid middleware and Grid application. This paper provides the general picture of Grid computing in China, and shows the great efforts, devotion and confidence in China to use Grid technology to boost the society, economics and scientific research. © Springer 2004.

Memory-intensive applications often suffer from the poor performance of disk swapping when memory is inadequate. Remote memory sharing schemes, which provide a remote memory that is faster than the local hard disk, are able to improve the performance of such applications. Due to the limitation of being applicable within single clusters only, however, most of the previous remote memory mechanisms, such as the network memory scheme, fail to be extendable into a large scale, distributed, heterogeneous, and dynamic environment. In this work, we propose a service-oriented grid memory sharing scheme, distributed Paging RAM Grid (DPRG). We study the properties and criteria of large scale memory sharing, and then design major operations and optimizations to fit the usage of grid systems. We collect trace from our grid environment, and evaluate DPRG through comprehensive trace-driven simulations. Results show that DPRG significantly outperforms existing remote memory sharing schemes and supports grid computing applications effectively. © 2006 IEEE.

In large-scale asynchronous distributed virtual environments(DVEs), one of the difficult problems is to deliver the concurrent events in a consistent order at each node. Generally, the previous consistency control approaches can be classified into two categories: causal order and time stamped order. However, causal order approaches can merely preserve the cause-effect relation of events and time stamped order approaches seem intrinsically complex to be used in serverless large-scale asynchronous DVEs. In this paper, we proposed a novel distributed algorithm to identify the concurrent events and preserve the consistent order delivery of them at different nodes. Simulation studies are also carried out to compare the performance of this algorithm with that of the previous ones. The results show that the new algorithm can effectively deliver the concurrent events in consistent order at each node and is more efficient than the previous algorithms in large-scale asynchronous DVEs.
