MN-Net: Speech Enhancement Network via Modeling the Noise

Currently, deep learning-based speech enhancement methods generally focus on target speech extraction while neglecting modeling the other sound sources in the mixture. These methods still can't distinguish the target speech from the interference well. In this paper, we present a monaural speech enhancement network via Modeling the Noise (MN-Net), which includes a shared Encoder and three separate Decoders for parallel modeling the magnitude and phase spectrogram of target speech, and the complex spectrogram of noise. Specifically, we propose a Multi-Branch Feature Extractor (MBFE) module to capture the richer contextual information in mixture, and a Spatial Reconstruction Unit (SRU) to remove the redundancy from extracted features. We compared our proposed MN-Net with 18 classical speech enhancement methods on the VoiceBank+DEMAND dataset, and with 9 ones on DNS-Challenge dataset for denoising task, and with 7 ones on the WHAMR! dataset for simultaneous denoising & de-reverberation task. Our proposed MBFE module was applied to two classical speech enhancement methods, DB-AIAT and CMGAN, replacing their DenseBlocks module. The results demonstrate that applying the MBFE module can boost their performances while keeping smaller model size. A series of visualization analysis intuitively verify that modeling the noise can enable the network to distinguish the target speech from noise and other interference more accurately.

Isolate Sets Based parallel Louvain Method for Community Detection

Community detection is a vital task in many fields,such as social networks and financial analysis,to name a *** Louvain method,the main workhorse of community detection,is a popular heuristic *** apply it to large-scale graph networks,researchers have proposed several parallel Louvain methods(PLMs),which suffer from two challenges:the latency in the information synchronization,and the community *** tackle these two challenges,we propose an isolate sets based parallel Louvain method(IPLM)and a fusion IPLM with the hashtables based Louvain method(FIPLM),which are based on a novel graph partition *** graph partition algorithm divides the graph network into subgraphs called isolate sets,in which the vertices are relatively decoupled from *** first describe the concepts and properties of the isolate *** we propose an algorithm to divide the graph network into isolate sets,which enjoys the same computation complexity as the breadth-first ***,we propose IPLM,which can efficiently calculate and update vertices information in parallel without latency or community ***,we achieve further acceleration by FIPLM,which maintains a high quality of community detection with a faster speedup than *** two methods are for shared-memory architecture,and we implement our methods on an 8-core PC;the experiments show that IPLM achieves a maximum speedup of 4.62x and outputs higher modularity(maximum 4.76%)than the serial Louvain method on 14 of 18 ***,FIPLM achieves a maximum speedup of 7.26x.

Towards estimating expected sizes of probabilistic skylines

We consider the maximal vector problem on uncertain data, which has been recently posed by the study on processing skyline queries over a probabilistic data stream in the database context. Let D n be a set of n points in a d-dimensional space and q (0 < q 1) be a probability threshold; each point in D n has a probability to occur. Our problem is concerned with how to estimate the expected size of the probabilistic skyline, which consists of all the points that are not dominated by any other point in D n with a probability not less than q. We prove that the upper bound of the expected size is O(min{n, (- ln q)(ln n) d-1 }) under the assumptions that the value distribution on each dimension is independent and the values of the points along each dimension are distinct. The main idea of our proof is to find a recurrence about the expected size and solve it. Our results reveal the relationship between the probability threshold q and the expected size of the probabilistic skyline, and show that the upper bound is poly-logarithmic when q is not extremely small.

Detailed and clock-driven simulation for HPC interconnection network

Performance and energy consumption of high performance computing （HPC） interconnection networks have a great significance in the whole supercomputer, and building up HPC interconnection network simulation plat- form is very important for the research on HPC software and hardware technologies. To effectively evaluate the per- formance and energy consumption of HPC interconnection networks, this article designs and implements a detailed and clock-driven HPC interconnection network simulation plat- form, called HPC-NetSim. HPC-NetSim uses application- driven workloads and inherits the characteristics of the de- tailed and flexible cycle-accurate network simulator. Besides, it offers a large set of configurable network parameters in terms of topology and routing, and supports router＇s on/off states. We compare the simulated execution time with the real execution time of Tianhe-2 subsystem and the mean error is only 2.7%. In addition, we simulate the network behaviors with different network structures and low-power modes. The results are also consistent with the theoretical analyses.

FAAD:an unsupervised fast and accurate anomaly detection method for a multi-dimensional sequence over data stream

Recently, sequence anomaly detection has been widely used in many fields. Sequence data in these fields are usually multi-dimensional over the data stream. It is a challenge to design an anomaly detection method for a multi-dimensional sequence over the data stream to satisfy the requirements of accuracy and high speed. It is because:(1) Redundant dimensions in sequence data and large state space lead to a poor ability for sequence modeling;(2) Anomaly detection cannot adapt to the high-speed nature of the data stream, especially when concept drift occurs, and it will reduce the detection rate. On one hand, most existing methods of sequence anomaly detection focus on the single-dimension sequence. On the other hand, some studies concerning multi-dimensional sequence concentrate mainly on the static database rather than the data stream. To improve the performance of anomaly detection for a multi-dimensional sequence over the data stream, we propose a novel unsupervised fast and accurate anomaly detection(FAAD) method which includes three algorithms. First, a method called "information calculation and minimum spanning tree cluster" is adopted to reduce redundant dimensions. Second, to speed up model construction and ensure the detection rate for the sequence over the data stream, we propose a method called"random sampling and subsequence partitioning based on the index probabilistic suffix tree." Last, the method called "anomaly buffer based on model dynamic adjustment" dramatically reduces the effects of concept drift in the data stream. FAAD is implemented on the streaming platform Storm to detect multi-dimensional log audit *** with the existing anomaly detection methods, FAAD has a good performance in detection rate and speed without being affected by concept drift.

The scale of global data center market has been explosive in recent years. As the market grows, the demand for fast provisioning of the virtual resources to support elas- tic, manageable, and economical computing over the cloud becomes high. Fast provisioning of large-scale virtual ma- chines （VMs）, in particular, is critical to guarantee quality of service （QoS）. In this paper, we systematically review the existing VM provisioning schemes and classify them in three main categories. We discuss the features and research status of each category, and introduce two recent solutions, VMThunder and VMThunder＋, both of which can provision hundreds of VMs in seconds.

Data replication introduces well-known consistency issues. This paper puts forward the question about data dependence in data consistency, which embodies pseudo-conflict updates and update dependency. According to that, an optimistic data consistency method is proposed. In our method, data object is partitioned into data blocks by fixed size, as the basic unit of data management. Updates are compressed by Bloom filter technique and propagated in double-path. Negotiation algorithms detect and reconcile update conflicts, and dynamic data management algorithms accommodate dynamic data processing. The results of the performance evaluation show that our method is an efficient method to achieve consistency, good dynamic property, and strong robustness. © 2006 IEEE.

On June 17, 2013, MilkyWay-2 （Tianhe-2） supercomputer was crowned as the fastest supercomputer in the world on the 41th TOP500 list. This paper provides an overview of the MilkyWay-2 project and describes the design of hardware and software systems. The key architecture features of MilkyWay-2 are highlighted, including neo-heterogeneous compute nodes integrating commodity- off-the-shelf processors and accelerators that share similar instruction set architecture, powerful networks that employ proprietary interconnection chips to support the massively parallel message-passing communications, proprietary 16- core processor designed for scientific computing, efficient software stacks that provide high performance file system, emerging programming model for heterogeneous systems, and intelligent system administration. We perform extensive evaluation with wide-ranging applications from LINPACK and Graph500 benchmarks to massively parallel software deployed in the system.

Interconnection network plays an important role in scalable high performance computer （HPC） systems. The TH Express-2 interconnect has been used in MilkyWay-2 system to provide high-bandwidth and low-latency interprocessot communications, and continuous efforts are devoted to the development of our proprietary interconnect. This paper describes the state-of-the-art of our proprietary interconnect, especially emphasizing on the design of network interface. Several key features are introduced, such as user-level communication, remote direct memory access, offload collective operation, and hardware reliable end-to-end communication, etc. The design of a low level message passing infrastructures and an upper message passing services are also proposed. The preliminary performance results demonstrate the efficiency of the TH interconnect interface.

Consistency and responsiveness are two important factors in providing the sense of reality in distributed Virtual Environment (DVE). However, it is not easy to optimize both aspects because of the trade-off between these two factors. As a result, most existing consistency maintenance methods ignored the responsiveness requirements, or just assumed a simple responsiveness requirement model which cannot meet the real need of DVE systems. In this paper, we first present a new responsiveness requirement model. The model can describe requirement satisfaction situation of each node. Base on this model, we propose a responsiveness requirement based consistency method. The method can adjust the utilization of time resource according to the requirements of different nodes and improve the overall responsiveness performance by at least 20%. Therefore, it provides a good support to increase the applicability of DVE systems. © 2009 IEEE.
