Recently, tensor network decomposition has attracted increasing attention due to its high efficacy in modeling multi-dimensional correlations in high-order tensors. Considering this advantage, this study employs tensor train decomposition (TTD) to achieve joint two-dimensional direction-of-departure (2D-DOD) and direction-of-arrival (2D-DOA) estimation in bistatic multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar systems with uniform planar array (UPA) configurations. First, a five-dimensional (5D) tensor is defined to incorporate the two-dimensional (2D) spatial information from transmit and receive UPAs, which is then combined with temporal information. Next, a low-rank four-dimensional (4D) tensor is generated by performing an autocorrelation operation along the temporal dimension of the 5D tensor, forming a structure that encapsulates the difference coarrays of the transmit and receive UPAs. Then, a TTD framework is designed to decompose the 4D tensor into interconnected lower-order TT-cores. Furthermore, a precise bidirectional mapping is performed between the TT-cores and the original Vandermonde factor matrices. Finally, leveraging distinct combinations of TT-cores, two innovative methods are developed to recover the Vandermonde factor matrices. The proposed methods conduct automatic pairing of 2D-DOD and obtain 2D-DOA estimates by enforcing consistent permutation orders across all factor matrices. The proposed methods are verified by simulation experiments. The results confirm that the proposed methods can surpass the existing tensor-based methods in terms of estimation accuracy. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

The reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) stands as an emergent technique poised to revolutionize future vehicular communication. In order to facilitate the application of RIS in vehicular communication, this paper proposes two effective RIS-aided schemes tailored for polarization modulation (PM) aiming to achieve remarkable spectral efficiency. Specifically, Scheme I proposes a novel index modulation (IM) aided PM-RIS framework that innovatively encodes information across three distinct dimensions, the indices of dual-polarized antennas (DP-AEs), PM symbols and the reflecting surface indices of the RIS. Scheme II employs a deep neural network method to analyze the channel state information (CSI) for transmit antenna selection, that enhances the reliability and interference immunity in dynamic conditions while reducing computational complexity. Furthermore, a stepwise estimation (SE) method is introduced at the detection stage, which significantly reduces the complexity associated with information decoding. The simulation results highlight the superiority of the proposed system. Compared with traditional PM systems, it demonstrates enhanced performance in terms of spectral efficiency, channel stability, and bit error rate (BER). © 2014 IEEE.

With the continuous extension of the Industrial Internet, cyber incidents caused by software vulnerabilities have been increasing in recent years. However, software vulnerabilities detection is still heavily relying on code review done by experts, and how to automatically detect software vulnerabilities is an open problem so far. In this paper, we propose a novel solution named GraphEye to identify whether a function of C/C++ code has vulnerabilities, which can greatly alleviate the burden of code auditors. GraphEye is originated from the observation that the code property graph of a non-vulnerable function naturally differs from the code property graph of a vulnerable function with the same functionality. Hence, detecting vulnerable functions is attributed to the graph classification problem. GraphEye is comprised of VecCPG and GcGAT. VecCPG is a vectorization for the code property graph, which is proposed to characterize the key syntax and semantic features of the corresponding source code. GcGAT is a deep learning model based on the graph attention networks, which is proposed to solve the graph classification problem according to VecCPG. Finally, GraphEye is verified by the SARD Stack-based Buffer Overflow, Divide-Zero, Null Pointer Deference, Buffer Error, and Resource Error datasets, the corresponding F1 scores are 95.6%, 95.6%, 96.1%, 92.6%, and 96.1% respectively, which validate the effectiveness of the proposed solution. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper addresses communication bandwidth reduction and energy efficiency enhancement of a peer-to-peer sensor network for distributed multitarget tracking under unknown clutter rate and detection profile. We propose an event-triggered distributed bootstrap cardinalized probability hypothesis density (CPHD) filter, where the local filter consists of an estimator that estimates the clutter and detection parameters, and a tracker that estimates the number and states of targets. Specifically, the proposed approach enforces each sensor to broadcast its local posterior density only when it has high estimation quality and significant information gain, wherein the former is determined by the outputs of the local estimator and tracker, while the latter is measured via the Jensen-Shannondivergence. Then, we develop a modified weighted arithmetic average fusion method to separately fuse the cardinality distributions and intensity functions, in which the fusion weights are constructed based on estimation qualities and triggering thresholds, which is incorporated into the distributed flooding scheme for distributed averaging. Additionally, the Gaussian mixture implementations of the proposed event-triggered distributed bootstrap CPHD filter are given, where only Gaussian components with high weights are applied, thus reducing the effect of false alarms and, consequently, achieving a partial consensus across the network. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is validated through simulation experiments. © 1965-2011 IEEE.

Vehicle platoon is one of the concrete manifestations of multi-vehicle cooperative control and intelligent transportation. However, the velocity perturbation in the driving process will bring about stability and safety problems. The connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) can obtain the motion status of the lead vehicle in real time and respond to it in time, which is of far-reaching significance to platoon control. Based on this, this paper focuses on the longitudinal driving strategy of connected autonomous vehicle platoons. Specifically, we provide a discrete double-integral model controller for each vehicle in a generic scenario, and the controller performs acceleration and deceleration control at each timeslot according to the state of the vehicle in front and its own state. Simulation experiments are designed by varying the size of the platoon and the number of connected autonomous vehicles. The experimental results show that the introduction of connected autonomous vehicles can effectively suppress the platoon velocity perturbation, increase the stability of the platoon driving, and significantly reduce the fuel consumption at the same time.

Data-Driven Safe controller Synthesis for Deterministic systems: A Posteriori Method With Validation Tests

In this work, we investigate the data-driven safe control synthesis problem for unknown dynamic systems. We first formulate the safety synthesis problem as a robust convex program (RCP) based on notion of control barrier function. To resolve the issue of unknown system dynamic, we follow the existing approach by converting the RCP to a scenario convex program (SCP) by randomly collecting finite samples of system trajectory. However, to improve the sample efficiency to achieve a desired confidence bound, we provide a new posteriori method with validation tests. Specifically, after collecting a set of data for the SCP, we further collect another set of independent validate data as posterior information to test the obtained solution. We derive a new overall confidence bound for the safety of the controller that connects the original sample data, the support constraints, and the validation data. The efficiency of the proposed approach is illustrated by a case study of room temperature control. We show that, compared with existing methods, the proposed approach can significantly reduce the required number of sample data to achieve a desired confidence bound. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. A Cross-Task Transfer SAR Target Recognition Method Based on AMFFNet and IACGAN

Convolutional neural networks (CNN) have shown excellent capability in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) target recognition. However, obtaining sufficient training samples for improving network recognition is difficult due to the deficiency of labeled SAR image data. To tackle the problem, a cross-task transfer method for SAR target recognition is proposed in this paper, which is based on a designed attention multi-scale feature fusion network (AMFFNet) and an improved auxiliary classifier generative adversarial network (IACGAN). In this method, firstly, a data augmentation method based on you only cut twice (YOCT) is devised for expanding the training samples. Secondly, the partial weight parameters of AMFFNet are initialized by the pre-trained IACGAN discriminator. Finally, AMFFNet is fine-tuned using the training samples. Additionally, on the network structure of AMFFNet, multi-scale features are extracted by adopting a multi-scale depth separable convolution module, which allows the model to acquire more informative features. Attention mechanisms are employed in this network to enhance its ability to capture important features while reducing the effects of noise. A multi-level feature fusion structure is used to further raise the representational capability of the model. Experimental results on multiple open-source real SAR datasets show that the proposed method can achieve better recognition performance under different percentages of training data, and the effectiveness and superiority of the method are confirmed by its robustness to noise. © 1965-2011 IEEE.

With the intelligent development of power systems, the number of relays continues to increase. Differences in manufacturers, systems, and protocols lead to growing security risks. Tampering with relay settings could potentially cause power outages or even system instability. Consequently, relay settings have gradually become a key target for cyberattacks, particularly in smart grids where traditional defense measures struggle to effectively address complex and diverse attack scenarios. To address this issue, this paper proposes a three-layer optimization defense model based on game theory, designed to adapt to various attack scenarios. The core methodology of this model includes a three-layer structure: The first layer optimizes the protection level of each relay by allocating limited defense budgets. The second layer analyzes the potential system damage based on the attacker’s strategy choices. The third layer comprehensively calculates system losses to evaluate the effectiveness of defense plans. Through layer-by-layer optimization of budget allocation, the model minimizes the unsupplied energy loss caused by relay setting attacks. Compared to existing methods, this model not only improves defense effectiveness under resource constraints but also addresses multiple complex attack scenarios. Experimental results demonstrate that this model significantly enhances the system’s defense capabilities and effectively reduces the impact of attacks on system security operations. Energy losses during the conversion and supply of electric power are considered a significant issue and cannot be estimated. Improvement in the efficiency of energy conversion systems is highly restricted because of their internal nonlinearity and complexity. Thus, inspired by the successful utilization of robotic chemists, we demonstrate a pioneering concept of artificial intelligence (AI)-aided automatic online real-time optimization of a power electronics converter using a dual active bridge (DAB) converter as an example. An optimal modulation strategy was obtained through repeated automatic exploration experiments on a practical DAB converter platform. Specifically, the DAB experimental platform operated autonomously around the clock for approximately 71 h. It performed 120,000 consecutive experiments (12,000 episodes) within a six-variable experimental space driven by a deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) algorithm. The proposed AI-aided automatic online real-time optimization method achieved significantly improved efficiency of power conversion and supply. Consequently, zero carbon emissions may be obtained in the future. © 2023
