Big-data-driven vessel destination prediction for smart port management

The accurate prediction of vessel destinations is crucial for enhancing maritime traffic efficiency, optimizing port management, and improving regional economic analysis. However, destination information in Automatic Identification system (AIS) data is often missing or inaccurate, which undermines the reliability of maritime analytic. Traditional vessel destination prediction methods primarily focus on measuring trajectory similarities, which results in high computational complexity. This study develops a deep learning approach to vessel destination prediction by transforming the problem into an image classification task. Rasterized images of historical destination ports and vessel trajectories are generated, incorporating AIS data within a fixed spatial context. A multi-scale residual convolutional network is constructed to extract relevant trajectory and port distribution features. To enhance the representation of trajectory endpoints, which are critical for predicting the destination port, a multi-attention mechanism is introduced. This mechanism increases the learning weight assigned to endpoint features, improving prediction accuracy. Finally, a classification network predicts the destination port based on the extracted features. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated using AIS data from the Denmark Strait. Experimental results demonstrate that the model outperforms existing methods, highlighting its potential for applications in smart port management and maritime traffic optimization. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

A wheel-legged robot is equipped with Stewart parallel mechanism, constituting a reconfigurable robot which can change its wheelbase, robot body height, and achieve omnidirectional steering. The legged character effectively improves the terrain adaptability, which concerns our planning concentration. We introduced an optimization-based whole-body trajectory planning algorithm to navigate robot in rugged terrain. The planner combines terrain data and stability, allowing lower-level motion generator and controller to operate more efficiently. The Model Predictive Control(MPC)-based method updates the footholds and CoG trajectories, which builds upon the support polygon constraints on optimization. The simulations of methodology working in several structure-obstacle scene demonstrated and compared the availability of approach.

Targeted Pareto Optimization for Subset Selection With Monotone Objective Function and Cardinality Constraint

Subset selection, a fundamental problem in various domains, is to choose a subset of elements from a large candidate set under a given objective or multiple objectives. Pareto optimization for subset selection (POSS) has emerged as a powerful paradigm for addressing subset selection problems. Recently, some POSS variants have been proposed to further improve its performance. In this paper, we propose a new POSS variant, named Targeted Pareto Optimization for Subset Selection (TPOSS). TPOSS differs from POSS in four aspects: problem formulation, population initialization, mutation, and environmental selection. The main idea of TPOSS is to focus the search on the target region of subset selection with respect to the subset cardinality in order to improve the search efficiency. We conduct comprehensive experiments to compare TPOSS with six state-of-the-art algorithms on three subset selection tasks (i.e., sparse regression, unsupervised feature selection, and hypervolume subset selection) where the size of the candidate sets ranges from 20 to 400. Experimental results show that with respect to the objective value of the best feasible subset, TPOSS outperforms the other algorithms on all the three tasks, which suggests the potential of TPOSS to enhance subset selection in various domains. In increasingly complex electromagnetic environments, distributed systems are crucial for passive target localization. These systems, consisting of spatially dispersed sensing nodes, collaboratively enhance the localization of target signals. Particularly in blind localization tasks within low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) settings, distributed passive localization offers improved positioning performance. Traditional passive localization methods typically follow a two-step process: initially extracting parameters, such as the direction of arrivals (DOA), from raw data, followed by localizing the target. This approach often requires a high SNR. In contrast, Direct Position Determination (DPD) methods directly leverage all the received raw data, thus overcoming the constraints of the two-step process. However, DPD methods involve a time-consuming grid search within the area of interest. To address this challenge, we propose a radiation source localization method that utilizes random sampling. This method capitalizes on the low-rank properties of the grid search matrix used in DPD methods. By integrating random sampling with low-rank matrix completion algorithms, our approach efficiently localizes the radiation source. Simulation results demonstrate that this random sampling-based method significantly reduces computational demands while preserving high localization accuracy.

Emerging cross-point memory can in-situ perform vector-matrix multiplication (VMM) for energy-efficient scientific computation. However, parasitic-capacitance-induced row charging and discharging latency is a major performance bottleneck of subarray VMM. We propose a memory-timing-compliant bulk VMM processing-using-memory design with row access and column access co-optimization from rethinking of read access commands and μ-op timing. We propose row-level-parallelism-adaptive timing termination mechanism to reduce tail latency of tRCD and tRP by exploiting row nonlinear charging and bulk-interleaved row-column-cooperative VMM access mechanism to reduce tRAS and overlap CL without increasing column ADC precision. Evaluations show that our design can achieve 5.03× performance speedup compared with an aggressive baseline.

The memristive Computing-in-Memory (CIM) sys-tem can efficiently accelerate matrix-vector multiplication (MVM) operations through in-situ computing. The data layout has a significant impact on the communication performance of CIM systems. Existing software-level communication opti-mizations aim to reduce communication distance by carefully designing static data layouts, while wear-leveling (WL) and error mitigation methods use dynamic scheduling to enhance system reliability, resulting in randomized data layouts and increased communication overhead. Besides, existing CIM compilers di-rectly map data to physical crossbars and generate instructions, which causes inconvenience for dynamic scheduling. To address these challenges of balancing communication performance and reliability while coordinating existing CIM compilers and dy-namic scheduling, we propose a disorder-resistant computation translation layer (DRCTL), which improves system lifetime and communication performance through co-optimization of data layout and dynamic scheduling. It consists of three parts: (1) We propose an address conversion method for dynamic scheduling, which updates the addresses in the instruction stream after dynamic scheduling, thereby avoiding recompilation. (2) Dynamic scheduling strategy for reliability improvement. We propose a hierarchical wear-leveling (HWL) strategy, which reduces communication by increasing scheduling granularity. (3) Communication optimization for dynamic scheduling. We propose data layout-aware selective remapping (LASR), which helps dynamic scheduling methods improve communication lo-cality and reduce latency by exploiting data dependencies. The experiments demonstrate that HWL extends lifetime by 100.3-205.9 x compared to not using WL. Even with a slight lifetime decrease compared to the state-of-the-art WL (TIWL), it still supports continuous neural network training for 7 years. The development of effective diagnostic methodolo-gies for software system failures is of paramount importance. Traditional methods, which rely on specialized terminology and intricate reasoning, require users to have a technical background, resulting in reduced flexibility and decreased user-friendliness. With the rise of generative large language models, optimizing human-computer interaction has become a critical area of focus. Additionally, the inherent intelligence and extensive knowledge of large language models make them both easy and effective to employ for fault diagnosis assistance. We introduce IFKG, an advanced tool for diagnosing software system failures. IFKG integrates generative large language models with knowledge graphs, employing natural language interactions to implement fault detection and deliver solutions. IFKG enables users to upload descriptive problems, retrieve pertinent information from the knowledge graph, and present diagnostic results in natural language. Our accuracy assessments across diverse software system failures indicate that the IFKG provides targeted and actionable recommendations, effectively assisting users in ad-dressing a range of software system issues. We call a program that passes existing tests but still contains bugs as a buggy plausible program. Bugs in such a program can bypass the testing environment and enter the production environment, causing unpredictable consequences. Therefore, discovering and fixing such bugs is a fundamental and critical problem. However, no existing bug dataset is purposed to collect this kind of bug, posing significant obstacles to relevant research. To address this gap, we introduce TrickyBugs, a bug dataset with 3,043 buggy plausible programs sourced from human-written submissions of 324 real-world competition coding tasks. We identified the buggy plausible programs from approximately 400,000 submissions, and all the bugs in TrickyBugs were not previously detected. We hope that TrickyBugs can effectively facilitate research in the fields of automated program repair, fault localization, test generation, and test *** CONCEPTS•Software and its engineering → Software testing and debugging.

In this paper, an all-dielectric transmitarray compact antenna test range (TACATR) is proposed. The TACATR can be used as a low-cost alternative to traditional reflector compact antenna test range. The aperture perturbation mechanisms of the TACATR have been investigated, including aperture scattering interference and edge diffraction. Two optimization strategies are proposed to enhance the performance of the quiet zone (QZ). On the one hand, the unwanted edge diffraction is suppressed by employing suitable feeding sources and optimizing the focal aperture ratio (F/D). On the other hand, the interference of aperture scattering in QZ was further suppressed by optimizing the additional phase shift (APS). As an example, a Circular transmitarray (TA) with the dimension of 91mm was designed, which verifies the mechanism of interferences suppressing.
