In increasingly complex electromagnetic environments, distributed systems are crucial for passive target localization. These systems, consisting of spatially dispersed sensing nodes, collaboratively enhance the localization of target signals. Particularly in blind localization tasks within low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) settings, distributed passive localization offers improved positioning performance. Traditional passive localization methods typically follow a two-step process: initially extracting parameters, such as the direction of arrivals (DOA), from raw data, followed by localizing the target. This approach often requires a high SNR. In contrast, Direct Position Determination (DPD) methods directly leverage all the received raw data, thus overcoming the constraints of the two-step process. However, DPD methods involve a time-consuming grid search within the area of interest. To address this challenge, we propose a radiation source localization method that utilizes random sampling. This method capitalizes on the low-rank properties of the grid search matrix used in DPD methods. By integrating random sampling with low-rank matrix completion algorithms, our approach efficiently localizes the radiation source. Simulation results demonstrate that this random sampling-based method significantly reduces computational demands while preserving high localization accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

data infrastructure plays a vital role as the cornerstone supporting the operations of modern society. Nevertheless, data characterization methods within this infrastructure encounter challenges related to inefficiency, high costs, and the management of fuzzy and complex retrieval requirements. To tackle these obstacles, this paper introduces a highly efficient approach for characterizing digital objects called DOR-RAF. This methodology integrates Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to enhance the intelligent retrieval experience for users. It presents an interactive retrieval mechanism that accurately identifies users’ true needs through iterative dialogues, effectively handling user queries despite their initial vagueness. The experimental results show that DOR-RAF outperforms the traditional metadata-based retrieval methods in terms of F1 Score and other metrics on the task of retrieving digital objects in a data infrastructure scenario. Meanwhile, the experiments show that the development of data characterisation methods using RAG technology has a broad prospect, and confirm that DOR-RAF outperforms traditional RAG methods in terms of Context Precision, Answer Correctness, etc. in the task of data characterisation.

The memristive Computing-in-Memory (CIM) sys-Tem can efficiently accelerate matrix-vector multiplication (MVM) operations through in-situ computing. The data layout has a significant impact on the communication performance of CIM systems. Existing software-level communication opti-mizations aim to reduce communication distance by carefully designing static data layouts, while wear-leveling (WL) and error mitigation methods use dynamic scheduling to enhance system reliability, resulting in randomized data layouts and increased communication overhead. Besides, existing CIM compilers di-rectly map data to physical crossbars and generate instructions, which causes inconvenience for dynamic scheduling. To address these challenges of balancing communication performance and reliability while coordinating existing CIM compilers and dy-namic scheduling, we propose a disorder-resistant computation translation layer (DRCTL), which improves system lifetime and communication performance through co-optimization of data layout and dynamic scheduling. It consists of three parts: (1) We propose an address conversion method for dynamic scheduling, which updates the addresses in the instruction stream after dynamic scheduling, thereby avoiding recompilation. (2) Dynamic scheduling strategy for reliability improvement. We propose a hierarchical wear-leveling (HWL) strategy, which reduces communication by increasing scheduling granularity. (3) Communication optimization for dynamic scheduling. We propose data layout-Aware selective remapping (LASR), which helps dynamic scheduling methods improve communication lo-cality and reduce latency by exploiting data dependencies. The experiments demonstrate that HWL extends lifetime by 100.3-205.9 x compared to not using WL. Even with a slight lifetime decrease compared to the state-of-The-Art WL (TIWL), it still supports continuous neural network training for 7 years. Physical properties(e.g.,ejecta size and distribution)of impact craters are crucial and essential to understanding the ejecta excavation and deposition process,estimating rock breakdown rate,and revealing their evolution ***,whether these physical properties are scale-dependent and how they evolve in different radial regions needs further *** this study,we first investigated the physical properties and evolution of subkilometer(D≤800 m)craters on lunar maria based on the radar circular polarization ratio(CPR).In addition,we estimated the periods over which rocks and blocky ejecta are exposed and buried in the shallow subsurface layer(termed as exposure time)in different radial regions and assessed the retention time and degradation states for potential radar anomalous *** found that in the central region of craters,the largest median CPR occurs after an 80 Myr delay following crater *** the rim region,there is no obvious CPR peak in the first100 Ma,whereas in the upper wall region,an evident CPR peak occurs beyond 100 Ma and could last over one billion *** addition,the probable exposure time of rocks and blocky ejecta is estimated to be~2.0 Gyr(central region),~2.7 Gyr(upper wall region),~2.1 Gyr(rim region),and~0.6 Gyr(continuous ejecta blanket region).We also propose that the retention time of radar anomalous craters depends on the crater size,whereas their degraded states are independent of crater size.

Currently, protocol fuzzing techniques mainly employ two approaches: greybox fuzzing based on mutation and blackbox fuzzing based on generation. Greybox fuzzing techniques use message exchanges between the protocol server and actual clients as seeds, and generate test cases through mutation. Although this approach can provide coverage information of the SUT's code and state space through instrumentation and feedback, its drawback lies in the relatively random mutation strategy, which makes it challenging to validate the SUT's message verification process. This paper addresses this limitation by utilizing artificial intelligence techniques to extract protocol state machines. It aims to overcome the reliance on manual work in blackbox fuzzing based on generation and leverage its advantages to generate more effective fuzzing test cases. The study utilizes Prompt-Learning technology to analyze the semantic information in protocol RFC documents, obtain corresponding intermediate representations, and extract protocol state machines from these representations. Taking the BGP protocol as an experimental subject, the experimental results demonstrate a certain level of accuracy in the obtained protocol state machines and the ability to generate test cases from these state machines, thereby enhancing the automation level of protocol fuzzing. © 2023 IEEE.

As space technology advances,thermal control systems must effectively collect and dissipate heat from distributed,multi-source *** heat pipe is a highly reliable two-phase heat transfer component,but it has several limitations when addressing multi-source heat *** by the transport and heat dissipation system of plants,large trees achieve stable and efficient liquid supply under the influence of two driving forces:capillary force during transpiration in the leaves(pull)and root pressure generated by osmotic pressure in the roots(push).The root pressure provides an effective liquid supply with a driving force exceeding 2 MPa,far greater than the driving force in conventional capillary-pumped two-phase *** has shown that osmotic heat pipes offer a powerful driving force,and combining osmotic pressure with capillary force has significant ***,this paper designs a multi-evaporator,dual-drive two-phase loop,using both osmotic pressure and capillary force to solve the multi-source heat dissipation ***,a transmembrane water flux model for the osmotic pressure-driven device was established to predict the maximum heat transfer capacity of the dual-drive two-phase ***,an experimental setup for a multi-evaporator“osmotic pressure+capillary force”dual-drive two-phase loop was constructed,capable of transferring at least 235 W of power under a reverse gravity condition of 20 *** study also analyzed the effects of reverse gravity height,heat load distribution among the three evaporators,startup sequence,and varying branch resistances on the performance of the dual-drive two-phase loop.

Before software developers actually start coding, an essential requirement is to be proficient in a programming language. However, as an important learning resource, programming language textbooks usually contain much about syntax and semantics of a programming language, but little about pragmatics, which is highly relevant with practical skills in solving real-world problems using programming languages. This makes it difficult for learners to transfer knowledge from textbooks to *** solve this problem, this paper proposes a programming language learning service, utilizing abundant development knowledge in Stack Overflow (SO) Q&A posts as the pragmatics knowledge of programming languages to make up for the shortage of pragmatics knowledge in textbooks. To link SO Q&A posts with textbooks, this paper first proposes a deep learning classification model to recognize SO posts containing development knowledge. Second, to align filtered SO posts with programming language learning processes, this paper proposes a weakly supervised link approach to matching SO posts with chapters and sections of textbooks. The feature of weak supervision ensures that the approach can be easily extended to other textbooks. Based on these modules above, this paper implements the programming language learning service in the form of a Chrome plugin. We conduct experiments and user study. Their results demonstrate the effectiveness, scalability and stability of the service. © 2023 IEEE.

Gravitational waves(GWs) from compact binary coalescences encode the absolute luminosity distances of GW sources. Once the redshifts of GW sources are known, one can use the distance-redshift relation to constrain cosmological parameters. One way to obtain the redshifts is to localize GW sources by GW observations and then use galaxy catalogs to determine redshifts from a statistical analysis of redshift information of the potential host galaxies, commonly referred to as the dark siren method. The third-generation(3G) GW detectors are planned to work in the 2030s and will observe numerous compact binary *** these GW events as dark sirens requires high-quality galaxy catalogs from future sky survey projects. The China space Station Telescope(CSST) will be launched in 2024 and will observe billions of galaxies within a 17500 deg^(2) survey area with redshift up to z ~ 4, providing photometric and spectroscopic galaxy catalogs. In this work, we simulate the CSST galaxy catalogs and the 5-year GW data from the 3G GW detectors and combine them to infer the Hubble constant(H_(0)). Our results show that the measurement precision of H0could reach the sub-percent level, meeting the standard of precision cosmology. We conclude that the synergy between CSST and the 3G GW detectors is of great significance in measuring the Hubble constant.

Modern SSDs achieve low latency and high throughput by utilizing multiple levels of SSD parallelism. Fairness is also a critical design consideration in cloud environments and has inspired great interest in recent years to study it. However, we find that excessive striving for SSD parallelism can inadvertently harm the SSD fairness due to the striped data layout. We observe from our experimental analysis that some common access patterns in cloud loads (e.g., high-intensity I/O) are not addressed by SSD parallelism, which can affect both SSD parallelism and fairness. In this paper, we analyze two address mapping policies with orthogonal characteristics from SSD parallelism and fairness perspectives. Based on extensive experiments and observations, we schedule a hybrid address mapping policy to achieve fairness of SSDs in cloud environments by distinguishing different I/O access modes and cold/hot data, while ensuring SSD performance. Experimental results on the latest block-level I/O traces show that our approach significantly improves performance and fairness by up to 77.3% and 62.8%, respectively, over the previous schemes with negligible cost. Meanwhile, it can also reduce the write amplification by 23.5% to 33.5%. © 2024 IEEE.
