Background: High-resolution estimates of HIV burden across space and time provide an important tool for tracking and monitoring the progress of prevention and control efforts and assist with improving the precision and efficiency of targeting efforts. We aimed to assess HIV incidence and HIV mortality for all second-level administrative units across sub-Saharan Africa. Methods: In this modelling study, we developed a framework that used the geographically specific HIV prevalence data collected in seroprevalence surveys and antenatal care clinics to train a model that estimates HIV incidence and mortality among individuals aged 15–49 years. We used a model-based geostatistical framework to estimate HIV prevalence at the second administrative level in 44 countries in sub-Saharan Africa for 2000–18 and sought data on the number of individuals on antiretroviral therapy (ART) by second-level administrative unit. We then modified the Estimation and Projection Package (EPP) to use these HIV prevalence and treatment estimates to estimate HIV incidence and mortality by second-level administrative unit. Findings: The estimates suggest substantial variation in HIV incidence and mortality rates both between and within countries in sub-Saharan Africa, with 15 countries having a ten-times or greater difference in estimated HIV incidence between the second-level administrative units with the lowest and highest estimated incidence levels. Across all 44 countries in 2018, HIV incidence ranged from 2·8 (95% uncertainty interval 2·1–3·8) in Mauritania to 1585·9 (1369·4–1824·8) cases per 100 000 people in Lesotho and HIV mortality ranged from 0·8 (0·7–0·9) in Mauritania to 676·5 (513·6–888·0) deaths per 100 000 people in Lesotho. This paper performs research on adaptation analysis based on large amount of multi-source remote sensing data. In view of different demands from different task background, the research is firstly focused on how to analyze the data in computer language. To achieve this, the feature parameters of target areas are extracted from different target area geographic data. In combination of ORACLE database engine, data mining technology is used to carry out the target area adaptation assessment, and extract corresponding adaptation criteria. We test the trained adaptation criteria on multi-source geographic information data of different target areas. Experimental results show that the resulting criterion has certain coincidence rate and robustness.

Since most chemical processes exhibit severe nonlinear and time-varying behavior, the control of such processes is challenging. In this paper, we propose data-driven controller design method based on lazy learning for chemical processes. Using a lazy learning algorithm, a local valid linear model denoting the current state of system is automatically exacted for adjusting the PID controller parameters based on input/output data. This scheme can adjust the PID parameters in an online manner even if the system has nonlinear properties. The simulation results on the dynamic model of Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor(CSTR) are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed new control techniques.

Silicon content plays an important role in reflecting the thermal state of a blast furnace(BF).The commonly used methods to predict silicon content at present are univariate and multivariate predicted *** univariate predicted method only uses the information of silicon content in hot metal and can not reflect the complexity of blast furnace ironmaking *** multivariate predicted method takes advantage of the rich information in blast furnace,different variables usually have a strong correlation with each other,which is not only useless for prediction but also brings in a lot of *** it always can not obtain the special satisfactory *** this article,we have collected the real data from a medium-size BF and done three experiments based on support vector *** experiments can divide into two categories,univariate predicted method(UPM) and multivariate predicted method(MPM),the latter includes local variables prediction(LVP) and whole variables prediction(WVP).Multivariate correlation analysis and Spearman's rank correlation coefficient are applied to select variables which have low correlation for *** space reconstruction is used to obtain the input and output of *** experiment results show that LVP is better than the UPM and *** also powerfully illustrates that choosing more variables can indeed bring in more useful information for prediction,especially when the correlation is eliminated through the selection of variables,the prediction result will be better.

Aiming at the complex and volatile conditions of the blast furnace, a support vector machine with multi-fault classification is proposed to solve the problem on blast furnace fault diagnosis. The normal or failure data is handled with a normalization and dimensionality reduction of principal component analysis (PCA). As a small amount of failure sample, a C-support vector classification (C-SVC) is applied in this filed. Different optimization methods have been performed for optimizing SVM parameters, including the grid-search method (GSM), the genetic algorithm (GA) and the particle swarm optimization (PSO). It compares these optimization algorithm strengths and limitations for multi-fault classification on classification ability and classification speed. © 2015

industrial process plants are often characterized with problems of variable drifts and change of state. The time difference(TD) model was proposed by researchers to handle the drifting problems. However, the global model used in TD model cannot describe the data characteristic like the time-variant and high nonlinearity very well. Moreover, its prediction accuracy will greatly decrease when change of process state occurs. In this paper, the time difference model and locally weighted partial least squares(LWPLS) are synthesized to enhance the adaptability of soft sensor models. In the TD-LWPLS based soft sensor framework, TD is used to reduce the effect of process drifts, and LWPLS, as a JITL method, is utilized to tackle change of process state. A numerical example and an industrial application example have been carried out to test the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed *** results demonstrate that the TD technique with the LWPLS model can achieve the best prediction accuracy in both cases compared to two other methods.

A transition identification method considering dynamic information is proposed in this paper. First, a definition for the transition process is presented here to make a brief description about the characteristics of ***, mutual information(MI) algorithm is revisited to analyze correlation between two data blocks. Because of the existence of dynamic behavior in industrial processes, dynamic mutual information(DMI) is first proposed in this paper to consider the dynamic relationship between historical samples and current samples. The differences in statistical characteristics between transition and stable modes can be well revealed through DMI algorithm. Extensive testing is carried out both on numerical example and Tennessee Eastman(TE) benchmark process to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Smart gels have many applications in sensors, actuators, shape memory intelligent devices, recognition, self-healing, drug release, biomimetic soft robot design, biomimetic tactile, neural regeneration, biomimetic membranes, supercapacitor, dye-sensitized solar cells, advanced lithium polymer batteries, environmental fields, biomedical fields, et al. And that cyclodextrins are one of the typical macrocycles with good recognition ability, and endowed with fascinating hydrophobic cavities and hydrophilic surface, which enable the encapsulation of diverse small organic molecules by forming inclusion complexes. In this paper, grafted copolymerization between acrylic acid and N, N-dimethyl acrylamide in the presence of water-soluble cyclodextrins was carried out. The effect of ratio of copolymerization monomer on the grafted polymer was examined. The results indicated that self-crosslinking smart gel with multi-stimuli responsive was obtained by selecting suitable the ratio of copolymerization monomer, its behaviors of swelling/shrinking were examined. The adsorption properties and releasing characteristics of smart gel were performed with simulating drugs. Some meaningful results were obtained. These series grafted copolymer would also be used to modify the surface and interface properties of low-dimensional functional materials or heterostructured nanocomposites for intelligent organic-inorganic functional nanocomposites, some good results were obtained. © (2015) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
