A large amount of air need be transported into the reservoir in the deep stratum to supply oxygen to some microbes in Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (MEOR). Air-water twophase flows downward along vertical pipeline during the air transportation. Base on the experiment data described in this paper, the characteristics of air-water two phase flow patterns were investigated. The flow pattern map of air-water two phase flows in the pipe with inner diameter of 65 mm was drawn, criterions of flow pattern transition were discussed, and the dynamic signals of the pressure and the differential pressure of the two phase flow were recorded to characterize the three basic flow regimes indirectly. The frictional pressure drop of downward flow in vertical pipe must not be disregarded contrast with upward two phase flow in the vertical pipe because the buoyancy must be overcame when the gas flows downward along pipe, and there would be a maximum value of frictional when the flow pattern translated from slug flow to churn flow. Under ultra-supercritical pressure, the heat transfer characteristics of water in vertical upward 4- head internally ribbed tubes with a diameter of 28.65mm and thickness of 8mm were experimentally studied. The experiments were performed at P = 25- 34MPa, G = 450- 1800kg/（m^2·s） and q = 200 600kW/m^2. The results show that the pressure has only a moderate effect on the heat transfer of uhra-supercritical water when the water temperature is below the pseudocritical point. Sharp rise of the wall temperature near the pesudocritical region occurs earlier at a higher pressure. Increasing the mass velocity improves the heat transfer with a much stronger effect below the pesudocritical point than that above the pesudocritical point. For given pressure and mass velocity, the inner wall heat flux also shows a significant effect on the inner wall temperature, with a higher inner wall heat flux leading to a higher inner wall temperature. Increasing of inner wall heat flux leads to an early occurrence of sharp rise of the wall temperature. Correlations of heat transfer coefficients are also presented for vertical upward internally ribbed tubes.

Experimental study of air natural convection in horizontally-positioned copper metallic foams with open cells was conducted. Temperature distributions on the heating surface were tested under different heating power for foam samples having different porosities and pore densities. The effects of porosity and pore density on the total thermal resistance of the foam sample were quantified. It is found that the porous surface can enhance the natural convection and reduce the thermal resistance by about 20% in comparison with a smooth surface. The surface area density and mass flow rate in natural convection are affected by porosity and pore density simultaneously. When the porosity is relative small (Ε = 90%), there exits a critical value of the Gr number (turning point) for two pore densities (10ppi and 40ppi). When the Gr number is less than this critical value, the foam with a higher pore density has the lower total thermal resistance, whereas when the Gr number exceeds the turning point value, the opposite holds. If the porosity is increased to Ε = 95%, the foam with a higher pore density has the lower thermal resistance in the whole experimental range. When the porosity and pore density is the same, the foam with smaller size has the higher thermal resistance in the whole experimental range. If the size is relatively small (10010050mm), for the two pore densities studied (20ppi and 80ppi), there exits a critical value of the Gr number (turning point). The foam with a lower porosity(Ε = 90%) has the lower thermal resistance and the decrease is more obvious for the case of *** the size is relatively big(10010080mm),there exists a critical value of the Gr number (turning point) only for the case of 10ppi. When the Gr number is less than this critical value, the foam with a higher porosity (Ε = 95%) has the higher total thermal resistance, the opposite holds. Turbulent burning velocity and statistical flame front structure parameters of turbulent premixed CH4/H2/air flames diluted with CO2 were measured with OH-PLIF technique. Hydrogen fractions are up to 0.2 and CO2 dilution ratios are up to 0.1. The instantaneous flame front structure was detected using the OH-PLIF technique on a turbulent premixed Bunsen burner. Through image processing and statistic analysis, turbulent burning velocity ST and statistic quantitative parameters, i.e. flame surface density Σ and flame brush thickness δT were obtained. Results show that turbulent burning velocity ST normalized by laminar burning velocity SL decreases with CO2 dilution. Increased Markstein number LM and flame intrinsic instability li with CO2 dilution leads to the passive response of flame to turbulence wrinkling which resulting in less wrinkled flame front, smaller Σ, lower local burning velocity and ST/SL. Convex structure is more frequent than that of concave ones at normal pressure and the bias distribution is much weaker comparing to that of high pressure. The positive structure decreases while the negative structure increases slightly with CO2 dilution. This would be one of the mechanisms leading to the decrease of the effective contact surface between reaction zone and unburned mixture which resulting in the decrease of ST/SL with CO2 dilution.

Ignition delay times were measured for stoichiometric kerosene/air mixtures with and without H2O addition behind reflected shock conditions: pressures of 0.45 - 7.5 atm and temperatures of 900 - 1450 K. The effect of H2O addition on the reactivity of RP-3 was explored at various pressure and temperatures. The Arrhenius-type expressions were fitted by using the current ignition data. A four-component surrogate model of RP-3 was proposed based on similarity criterion of function group. The proposed model generally reproduces the tendency of pressure-dependence of ignition delay times but it over-predicts the experimental data at lower pressures. The addition of H2O presents different effects at elevated pressures. Convective heat transfer characteristics of supercritical pressure hydrocarbon fuel were experimentally investigated in electrically heated small non-circular channels with hydraulic diameter ranging from 2.00 to 3.00 mm. In this research, the system pressure and fuel mass velocity were maintained at supercritical (3.0 MPa) and 840.0 kg/(m2·s), while fuel inlet temperature varied from 200.0 ~ 450.0 °C. Heat transfer characteristics of various cross-section channels were obtained in view of the temperature profiles on the channel outside surface. Experimental results were compared among different non-circular channels. The effects of inlet fuel temperature, heat flux, aspect ratio or length to diameter ratio on the convective heat transfer characteristics were discussed. Due to the varieties of length to diameter ratio, the unique heat transfer characteristics of non-circular cross-section channels seemed to make them suitable for the application of hypersonic vehicle. However, this study did not consider the pyrolytic reaction in the high temperature range. The coking characteristics of small non-circular channels under high temperature may trade off the benefits acquired in the heat transfer characteristics.

In this paper, the control system of a 600MW supercritical lignite-fired boiler was modeled and coupled with boiler thermal system through GSE simulation software. Simulation experiments were conducted under load decrease condition and load rise condition in order to test control effect and analyze efficiency change in the dynamic mode. Simulation results show that the applied control strategies and established control model are reliable and effective. From BMCR condition to THA condition, boiler efficiency falls from 92.08% to 91.71%, then slowly increases to 92.02%. From THA condition to 75%THA condition, boiler efficiency drops from 92.02% to 91.42%, then slowly rises to 91.90%. From 75%THA condition to 45%BMCR condition, boiler efficiency slumps from 91.90% to 91.37%, then gradually ascends to 91.76%. From THA condition to BMCR condition, boiler efficiency rises from 92.02% to 92.30%, then slowly decreases to 92.08%. From 75%THA condition to THA condition, boiler efficiency soars from 91.87% to 92.41%, then slowly falls to 92.02%. From 45%BMCR condition to 75%THA condition, boiler efficiency ascends from 91.76% to 92.24%, then gradually drops to 91.87%. A study on effects of CO/H2 ratio, H2O dilution and pressures on the cellular structure of moist syngas flame was conducted using spherically expanding flames. Experimental conditions for the CO/H2/H2O/air mixtures are the pressures from 0.1 to 0.3 MPa, initial temperature of 373K and H2O dilution ratios are from 0 to 0.15. Results show cellular instability is promoted at atmospheric pressure and suppressed at elevated pressure when H2O is added into the mixture. In addition, critical radius increases with the increase of H2O dilution ratio for the mixture with CO/H2 ratio of 50/50 and changes little when CO/H2 ratio is 20/80. Critical Peclet number decreases with the addition of H2O and increases with the decrease of CO/H2 ratio.

The present work contains the studies of catalytic reduction of NO with CO over 20 wt.% bimetallic Fe-Cu transition metal oxides supported on rice hull ash (RHA) and γ-Al2O3, which were prepared by various procedures. All catalysts contained CuO and Fe2O3 alongside with CuFe2O4. The catalytic activity kinetics for NO and CO reduction reaction mechanism was obviously improved over the synthesized RHA when compared to alumina support. And bimetallic metal catalyst Fe2Cu1/RHA demonstrated a high conversion of NO at all the temperatures examined. This was due to the strong interaction of Cu-Fe with the amorphous silica and activated carbon in RHA and high dispersion on the supporter. NO was almost reacted to N2 over Fe2Cu1/RHA from room temperature to 500℃ and O2 has little influence on it in our experiment conditions. About 100% CO was oxidized after 150℃ over Fe2Cu1/RHA. All the materials showed an unchanged stability over the period of 20h. Metallic copper and iron were the active species. The present results suggest that bimetallic Fe-Cu transition metal oxides supported on rice hull ash (RHA) can be used as an applicable catalyst to selectively reduce NO and CO. © ICOPE 2019 - 7th International Conference on power engineering, Proceedings.
