Content-centric networks provide effective support for content services through a caching mechanism, so the caching of the placement strategy has become a hot research. In this paper, the problem of content placement in CCN is taken as the starting point, focusing on the allocation of caching resources for district partitioning according to the number of users given the content of predictable hotspots. When the hot topic breaks out, the first to the user from the content of the nearest as the goal, from the user’s point of view as its characteristics, nested using improved genetic algorithms to select hotspot cache placement points, and a CCN hotspot cache placement strategy based on genetic algorithm is proposed. In the simulation experiment, the cache placement strategy proposed in this paper is compared with other traditional strategies in network performance. The simulation results show that the strategy can effectively reduce the access hops and average access latency, reduce the server load and improve the user satisfaction. © Springer International Publishing AG 2017.

Issue resolution is a central task for software development. The efficiency of issue fixing largely relies on the issue report quality. Stack Overflow, which hosts rich and real-Time posts about programming-specific problems, is a valuable external source of knowledge for issue resolution. In this paper, we present CrossLink, an analysis framework that automatically introduce related posts in Stack Overflow to issues in Android Issue Tracker. This helps developers to leverage the abundant and professional knowledge from massive programmers in Stack Overflow for issue resolution. CrossLink explores the semantic similarities as well as the temporal associations between the two types of repositories to recommend Stack Overflow posts to Android issues. The internal links in Stack Overflow are also employed to improve the linking accuracy. The experiments prove the effectiveness of CrossLink with precision of 62.51% for top-10 recommendations, which is significantly higher than the state-of-Art method. © 2014 ACM.

The Hi-C data is the basis of three-dimensional chromosome structure reconstruction. In this paper, a method integrating U-Net and ResNET network is proposed to infer high resolution Hi-C data from existing low-resolution Hi-C data. Firstly, the U-Net is used as the backbone network to make full use of the shallow layer details and deep layer essential features of Hi-C data. Secondly, the residual module is introduced into the coding path and decoding path of the network to increase the depth of the model and prevent network degradation. Finally, the down sampling is used to reduce the calculation amount to decrease the required running time for the network model. The experimental results on real datasets showed that the proposed method had better performance than existing methods, and the inferred high resolution Hi-C data was closer to the real Hi-C data. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

There are two key issues for information diffusion in blogosphere: (1) blog posts are usually short, noisy and contain multiple themes, (2) information diffusion through blogosphere is primarily driven by the "word-of- mouth" effect, thus making topics evolve very fast. This paper presents a novel topic tracking approach to deal with these issues by modeling a topic as a semantic graph, in which the semantic relatedness between terms are learned from Wikipedia. For a given topic/post, the name entities, Wikipedia concepts, and the semantic relatedness are extracted to generate the graph model. Noises are filtered out through the graph clustering algorithm. To handle topic evolution, the topic model is enriched by using Wikipedia as background knowledge. Furthermore, graph edit distance is used to measure the similarity between a topic and its posts. The proposed method is tested by using the real-world blog data. Experimental results show the advantage of the proposed method on tracking the topic in short, noisy texts.

With the rapidly development of mobile cloud computing, in order to provide a better experience for mobile users, the computing and storage functions of mobile terminals are migrated to the cloud. In the application research of virtual machine migration, the transmission rate of wireless channel will changed with the changes of network condition. This paper focuses on the pre-copy transmission algorithm in the process of virtual machine migration in mobile cloud computing. A pre-copy transmission algorithm based on optimal stopping theory (PTAOST) was proposed, the algorithm constructs an optimal stopping problem based on an optimal transmission rate in the process of virtual machine migration. And we solve the model by using the optimal stopping theory, and get an optimal transfer rate. So the total amount of data and migration time is reduced during the process of virtual machine migration. In simulations, the PTAOST is compared with the transmission algorithms offered by some literatures, and we obtained some comparable results about the total migration data and total migration time to different transmission algorithms. The simulative results show that the proposed algorithm has less the total amount of migration data and total time of migration and improves the performance of migration. © 2017, Springer International Publishing AG.

Applying graph clustering algorithms in real world networks needs to overcome two main challenges: the lack of prior knowledge and the scalability issue. This paper proposes a novel method based on the topological features of complex networks to optimize the clustering algorithms in real-world networks. More specifically, the features are used for parameter estimation and performance optimization. The proposed method is evaluated on real-world networks extracted from the web. Experimental results show improvement both in terms of Adjusted Rand index values as well as runtime efficiency. © 2011 Authors.

Memory-intensive applications often suffer from the poor performance of disk swapping when memory is inadequate. Remote memory sharing schemes, which provide a remote memory that is faster than the local hard disk, are able to improve the performance of such applications. Due to the limitation of being applicable within single clusters only, however, most of the previous remote memory mechanisms, such as the network memory scheme, fail to be extendable into a large scale, distributed, heterogeneous, and dynamic environment. In this work, we propose a service-oriented grid memory sharing scheme, distributed Paging RAM Grid (DPRG). We study the properties and criteria of large scale memory sharing, and then design major operations and optimizations to fit the usage of grid systems. We collect trace from our grid environment, and evaluate DPRG through comprehensive trace-driven simulations. Results show that DPRG significantly outperforms existing remote memory sharing schemes and supports grid computing applications effectively. © 2006 IEEE.

In large-scale asynchronous distributed virtual environments(DVEs), one of the difficult problems is to deliver the concurrent events in a consistent order at each node. Generally, the previous consistency control approaches can be classified into two categories: causal order and time stamped order. However, causal order approaches can merely preserve the cause-effect relation of events and time stamped order approaches seem intrinsically complex to be used in serverless large-scale asynchronous DVEs. In this paper, we proposed a novel distributed algorithm to identify the concurrent events and preserve the consistent order delivery of them at different nodes. Simulation studies are also carried out to compare the performance of this algorithm with that of the previous ones. The results show that the new algorithm can effectively deliver the concurrent events in consistent order at each node and is more efficient than the previous algorithms in large-scale asynchronous DVEs.

Gene expression microarray enables us to measure the gene expression levels for thousands of genes at the same time. Here, we constructed the non-negative matrix factorization analysis strategy (NMFAS) to dig the underlying biological pathways related with various diseases by factorizing the pathway expression matrix, which was extracted from microarray matrix using pathway membership information, into the product of row and column vectors. We defined row vector as the pathway activity and column vector as the gene contribution weight. Via comparing the pathway activity of two different sample groups, we can identify significantly expressed pathways. We applied this strategy on two different cases: smoking and type 2 diabetes (DM2). We found 152 differentially expressed pathways by the comparison of pathway activity between smoker and never smoker, including pathways that have been validated in literature, such as "O-Glycans biosynthesis" and "Glutathione metabolism". We also found important genes related to smoking phenotype, such as NQO, HSPA1A, ALDH3A1. As for DM2 analysis, our results suggested 9 pathways were significantly expressed, including typical pathways like "Oxidative phosphorylation" and "mTOR signaling pathway", and found genes like CAPNS1, APP, COX7A1, COX7B, which might play important roles in the cellular regulations of DM2. In conclusion, Our strategy can be efficiently used to integrate gene expression profiles and biological pathway information to identify the key processes underlying human disease and can identify gene pathways missed by alternative approaches. © 2012 IEEE.
