Based on high temperature resistant silicon dioxide(SiO2) and silicon carbide(SiC) materials, a high temperature resistant broadband meta material absorber was designed in this paper. The absorber consists of two layers of SiC pattern, three layers of SiO2 transmission medium, and a bottom layer of low resistance SiC thin film reflection layer. The simulation results show that the absorption rate of the absorber exceeds 90% in the frequency range of 3.46-18.37GHz, and the relative absorption bandwidth is 136.6%. The absorber device also has the characteristics of low process implementation difficulty, polarization insensitivity, and wide-angle absorption. Therefore, it has potential application value in fields such as radar imaging, stealth, and communication technology. © 2023 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

Based on Chambolle's algorithm, we develop a data-driven optimization scheme based on minimization of Stein's unbiased risk estimate (SURE) - statistically equivalent to mean squared error (MSE). We propose a recursive evaluation of SURE to monitor the estimation error during Chambolle's iteration;the optimal value is then identified by the minimum SURE. We exemplify the proposed methods with 1-D signal denoising. © 2022 IEEE.

Based on electromagnetic scattering mechanism, Mie scattering theory and Monte Carlo method are used to analyze the radiation characteristics of SiC particle swarm with different distribution forms in this paper. The study find that the form of particle size distribution has a significant impact on the spectral transmittance of particle swarms. The proportion of particles of different sizes in the particle size distribution, the dispersion of particle size distribution, and the span of particle size scale all affect the infrared extinction performance of particle swarms in varying degrees. Among them, the proportion of particles of specific size in the particle size distribution is the most one, which is a necessary factor to ensure the existence and amplitude of particle characteristic spectra. The relationship between particle size distribution and radiation characteristics was deeply analyzed, and the results showed that increasing the proportion of particles within the 0.16~2.5µm particle size range of SiC particle can comprehensively improve the extinction performance of SiC particle swarm, which is of practical significance for optimizing the infrared radiation performance of particle swarms. © 2023 SPIE.

Solar radiation will be scattered by atmospheric molecules and aerosol particles when it transfers through the Earth atmosphere. The scattered radiance with different polarization state can be used to characterize atmospheric components. Based on the BHU-ATM presented in our previous work, an atmospheric radiative transfer model considering the polarization effects is developed in this paper, in which the parameter discretization method is used. To this end, the radiative transfer equation is adapted into the Stokes vector form, while the impacts of atmospheric molecules and aerosols on the polarization state of the scattered radiance are represented by means of the scattering phase matrix. The Curtis-Godson approximation and the two-stream approximation are used to obtain the analytical solution of the adapted radiative transfer equation. As the precise calculation of the scattering phase matrix varying with the scattering angle and the radiant wavelength is inefficient for the calculation of spectral path radiance, a novel aspect of this work is the efficient computation of the scattering phase matrix through a two-dimensional interpolation method, significantly reducing computational complexity while maintaining accuracy across a broad range of angles and wavelengths. The simulation results of the atmospheric transmittance, the spectral radiance and the degree of polarization (DOP) for an arbitrarily selected transfer path are given. As it can be seen, in the spectrum from the visible through the near infrared (VNIR), the polarization modeling showed a maximum transmittance difference of 0.0007 and a spectral radiance difference of 0.3 W/m2/μm/sr. The DOP varied significantly, with a difference of up to 0.12 between urban and ocean aerosols. The developed polarization model can improve aerosol component identification in satellite-based remote sensing applications, aiding in more accurate air quality monitoring and enhancing climate models that account for aeroso

In this paper, a full-space beam scanning antenna based on spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) is proposed. The proposed antenna is composed of a SSPPs loaded by the varactor diodes and periodic metallic patches. The periodic patches can transform the slow waves from SSPPs into fast waves, and the cutoff frequency can be reconfigured by changing the capacitance of the varactor diode, which will make the radiation angle of the beam change within a fixed frequency. Simulation results show that the radiation angle ranges from -90° to 90° at 9 GHz. © 2023 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

Digitally coded metasurface(DMS) is a novel class of electromagnetic materials that possess the ability to manipulate electromagnetic waves at scales significantly smaller than the wavelength. They hold great potential for a wide range of applications, including wireless communication, millimeter-wave imaging, data storage, and sensing. However, the conventional full-wave simulation methods currently employed often require precise geometric modeling, grid planning, and consideration of complex physical models such as material parameters and boundary conditions. These time-consuming and costly approaches face significant challenges in large-scale electromagnetic response studies. Therefore, there is an urgent need to explore more efficient and cost-effective methods to address these issues. In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based approach for predicting the electromagnetic response of individual units in a DMS. We construct a convolutional neural network (CNN) model that can accurately and real-time predict the electromagnetic response based on the input coding pattern. To train and validate the model, we utilize a substantial amount of electromagnetic simulation data and incorporate amplitude constraints into the loss function for model optimization. A way to abandon the dual network structure and achieve simultaneous prediction of dual parameters with smaller computational requirements. Experimental results demonstrate that our model achieves highly accurate predictions of both amplitude and phase responses of DMS, surpassing traditional numerical methods in terms of efficiency and scalability. The proposed deep learning approach offers a promising solution for efficient and low-cost prediction of electromagnetic responses in DMS. © 2024 SPIE.

In this paper, generation of plasmonic vortices with tunable topologic charges is proposed in the microwave regime. Tunable vortices with topologic charges of 0, +1 and -1 can be configured by illuminating incident plane waves with linearly polarization (LP), left-circularly polarization (LHCP) and right-circularly polarization (RHCP) on a single meta-particle, respectively. A spiral meta-particle operating at 2.94 GHz is designed, fabricated and measured to demonstrate the source-configured characteristics. The results showed that simulation and test are consistent with the theoretical ones. © 2023 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

Bistatic radar is widely used in the military field with its good anti-jammer ability and accurate detection and identification ability. How to implement effective jammer for this kind of radar system has become a research hotspot at present. Due to the small scattering intensity and weak echo energy of j ammer monomer, it has no advantage in countering the bistatic radar. It is necessary to release multiple jammers to form a group to form strong scattering, so as to interfere with the bistatic radar to detect and recognize the target, so the study on the scattering characteristics of the jammer group is particularly important. Therefore, this paper takes the group composed of spherical monomer as an example, first of all, MATLAB and CST STUDIO SUITE (CST) are used for joint modeling, and then electromagnetic simulation calculation is carried out on the group of spherical jammer objects with different bands, different sphere sizes, different group densities and different group distributions to analyze the bistatic scattering characteristics under different parameters. The research results show that the four parameters will have different degrees of influence on the bistatic scattering characteristics of the spherical jammer group, which provides a theoretical basis and data support for parameter selection and airspace planning against the bistatic radar.

In this paper, the principle of Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) is used to test and study the silicon nitride particle samples, and the influence of particle size, shape and crystal phase on its infrared spectral performance is emphatically analyzed. It is found that the larger the particle size of Si3N4 is, the more its extinction peak moves to the long wave. The smaller the particle size is, the lower the extreme value of infrared transmission in the characteristic spectrum segment is. For Si3N4 particles of the same scale, spherical like particles can obtain lower infrared transmittance, while cylindrical like ones show a wider range of infrared absorption bands. Under the same shape and similar scale, α Phase Si3N4 particles have better infrared absorption than β Phase. © 2023 SPIE.

To address the challenges of single-sensor visual limitations and network congestion in tracking high-speed vehicles, a dynamic event-triggered cooperative cubature Kalman filtering algorithm is proposed. Initially, a dynamic event-triggered mechanism is developed based on measurement state information to reduce bandwidth consumption and enhance system responsiveness. Subsequently, within the framework of the cubature Kalman Filter, the covariance matrix and filtering gain matrix for each sensor’s distributed filter are derived using minimum mean square error approximation techniques. Finally, a cooperative filtering algorithm is designed using a weighted average consensus method and applied to tracking of hypersonic glide vehicles. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm achieves higher accuracy compared to existing methods. © 2024 Institute of physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
