Mission-oriented capability evaluation for combat network based on operation loops

With continuous growth in scale,topology complexity,mission phases,and mission diversity,challenges have been placed for efficient capability evaluation of modern combat *** at the problems of insufficient mission consideration and single evaluation dimension in the existing evaluation approaches,this study proposes a mission-oriented capability evaluation method for combat systems based on operation ***,a combat network model is given that takes into account the capability properties of combat ***,based on the transition matrix between combat nodes,an efficient algorithm for operation loop identification is proposed based on the Breadth-First *** the mission-capability satisfaction of nodes,the effectiveness evaluation indexes for operation loops and combat network are proposed,followed by node importance *** a case study of the combat scenario involving space-based support against surface ships under different strategies,the effectiveness of the proposed method is *** results indicated that the ROI-priority attack method has a notable impact on reducing the overall efficiency of the network,whereas the O-L betweenness-priority attack is more effective in obstructing the successful execution of enemy attack missions.

Reconfigurable spatial-parallel stochastic computing for accelerating sparse convolutional neural networks

Edge devices play an increasingly important role in the convolutional neural network(CNN)inference. However, the large computation and storage requirements are challenging for resource-and powerconstrained hardware. These limitations might be overcome by exploring the following:(a)error tolerance via approximate computing, such as stochastic computing(SC);(b)data sparsity, including the weight and activation sparsity. Although SC can perform complex calculations with compact and simple arithmetic circuits,traditional SC-based accelerators suffer from the low reconfigurability and long bitstream, further making it difficult to benefit from the data sparsity. In this paper, we propose spatial-parallel stochastic computing(SPSC), which improves the spatial parallelism of the SC-based multiplier to the full extent while consuming fewer logic gates than the fixed-point implementation. Moreover, we present SPA, a highly reconfigurable SPSC-based sparse CNN accelerator with the proposed hybrid zero-skipping scheme(HZSS), to efficiently take advantage of different zero-skipping strategies for different types of layers. Comprehensive experiments show that SPA with up to 2477.6 Gops/W outperforms existing several binary-weight accelerators, SC-based accelerators, and the sparse CNN accelerator considering energy efficiency.

The deformation-loss of waveguides is a critical element that hinders the application *** waveguides have been studied for the construction of anti-deformation ***,the bandwidth of crystal waveguides is strictly reliant on the crystal lattice's *** case the deformation is extreme,and the crystal lattice is drastically altered,the bandwidth will be significantly diminished,and transmission loss will ***,we report an elastic waveguide design based on the disordered hyperuniform(DH)distribution with as low as about 20%bandwidth loss under deformations with an average strain of approximately 10%.In contrast,the phononic crystal elastic waveguide(PCEWG)exhibits an average reduction of 50%for the same degree of *** is demonstrated through simulations under four different deformation conditions:firstorder bending,second-order bending,compressing and stretching.A theoretical explanation is provided through the calculation of structural *** soft materials as the matrix and explaining the mechanism through elastic waves,we present a promising avenue for communication through the human body.

Mechanistic insights into the synergetic remediation and amendment effects of zeolite/biochar composite on heavy metal-polluted red soil

Red soil,the most critical soil resource in tropical/subtropical regions worldwide,faces tremendous threats,including nutrient deficiency,acidification,and heavy metal *** is a great demand for multifunctional eco-materials capable of modifying this ***,we used widely distributed soil and biomass to develop a zeolite/biochar composite for synergistic red soil remediation and *** the composite material,the Pb^(2+) and Cd^(2+) remediation efficiencies reached 92.8%and 92.9%,respectively,in stems under optimal ***,the acidity and nutrient deficiency conditions of red soil significantly *** atomic-scale interaction mechanism during the remediation and amendment process was elucidated with complementary characterization methods,which revealed that in the zeolite/biochar composite material,zeolite contributes to longterm heavy metal remediation ***,biochar is responsible for soil quality amendment and short-term heavy metal ***,for the first time,single-atom heavy metal ions were observed on biochar during the remediation process,indicating the broad distribution of single atoms in the natural environment.

The electromagnetic(EM)rail launcher G10 insulator is prone to delamination damage during launch,which affects the service life of the *** the secondary development of ABAQUS®commercial finite‐element software,an EM‐structure coupling launch dynamics model considering projectile‐barrel coupling is *** simulation indicates that the transverse swing of the projectile changes in a sine‐like law,and the time of the upper half wave corresponds to the pulse width of the impact force pulse *** stress concentration occurs on the inner surface of the insulator where the contact‐impact occurs,resulting in impact *** midline of the insulator inner surface bears a large compressive strain under the action of pre‐tightening force,and the insulator is compressed oscillatingly under the influence of the timevarying load of the rail during *** the condition of repeated launch,the launch package repeatedly impacts the insulator,and the alternating load of the rail is cyclically loaded on the insulator with impact damage,which will cause the compression fatigue of the insulator and the expansion of impact damage *** are the main reasons for the delamination failure of insulator,and the experimental analysis is carried *** study provides a method to study the delamination failure mechanism of the insulator,and provides guidance for improving the life of the insulator.

A monolithically integrated microcantilever biosensor based on partially depleted SOI CMOS technology

This paper presents a monolithically integrated aptasensor composed of a piezoresistive microcantilever array and an on-chip signal processing *** microcantilevers,each of them embedded with a piezoresistor,form three sensors in a Wheatstone bridge *** on-chip signal processing circuit consists of a multiplexer,a chopper instrumentation amplifier,a low-pass filter,a sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter,and a serial peripheral *** the microcantilever array and the on-chip signal processing circuit were fabricated on the single-crystalline silicon device layer of a silicon-on-insulator(SOI)wafer with partially depleted(PD)CMOS technology followed by three micromachining *** integrated microcantilever sensor makes full use of the high gauge factor of single-crystalline silicon to achieve low parasitic,latch-up,and leakage current in the PD-SOI CMOS.A measured deflection sensitivity of 0.98×10^(−6) nm^(−1) and an output voltage fluctuation of less than 1μV were obtained for the integrated microcantilever.A maximum gain of 134.97 and an input offset current of only 0.623 nA were acquired for the on-chip signal processing *** functionalizing the measurement microcantilevers with a biotin-avidin system method,human IgG,abrin,and staphylococcus enterotoxin B(SEB)were detected at a limit of detection(LOD)of 48 pg/***,multichannel detection of the three integrated microcantilever aptasensors was also verified by detecting *** these experimental results indicate that the design and process of monolithically integrated microcantilevers can meet the requirements of high-sensitivity detection of biomolecules.

Deep reinforcement learning using least-squares truncated temporal-difference

Policy evaluation(PE)is a critical sub-problem in reinforcement learning,which estimates the value function for a given policy and can be used for policy ***,there still exist some limitations in current PE methods,such as low sample efficiency and local convergence,especially on complex *** this study,a novel PE algorithm called Least-Squares Truncated Temporal-Difference learning(LST2D)is *** LST2D,an adaptive truncation mechanism is designed,which effectively takes advantage of the fast convergence property of Least-Squares Temporal Difference learning and the asymptotic convergence property of Temporal Difference learning(TD).Then,two feature pre-training methods are utilised to improve the approximation ability of ***,an Actor-Critic algorithm based on LST2D and pre-trained feature representations(ACLPF)is proposed,where LST2D is integrated into the critic network to improve learning-prediction *** simulation studies were conducted on four robotic tasks,and the corresponding results illustrate the effectiveness of *** proposed ACLPF algorithm outperformed DQN,ACER and PPO in terms of sample efficiency and stability,which demonstrated that LST2D can be applied to online learning control problems by incorporating it into the actor-critic architecture.

Dynamic coupling of ferrihydrite transformation and associated arsenic desorption/redistribution mediated by sulfate-reducing bacteria

Sulfate-reducing bacteria play an important role in the geochemistry of iron(oxyhydr)oxide and arsenic(As)in natural environments;however,the associated reaction processes are yet to be fully *** this study,batch experiments coupled with geochemical,spectroscopic,microscopic,and thermodynamic analyses were conducted to investigate the dynamic coupling of ferrihydrite transformation and the associated As desorption/redistribution mediated by Desulfovibrio vulgaris(***).The results indicated that *** could induce ferrihydrite transformation via S^(2-)-driven and direct reduction *** the absence of SO_(4)^(2-),*** directly reduced ferrihydrite,and As desorption and re-sorption occurred simultaneously during the partial transformation of ferrihydrite to *** increase in SO_(4)^(2-)loading promoted the S^(2-)-driven reduction of ferrihydrite and accelerated the subsequent mineralogical *** the low and medium SO_(4)^(2-)treatments,ferrihydrite was completely transformed to a mixture of magnetite and mackinawite,which increased the fraction of As in the residual phase and stabilized *** the high SO_(4)^(2-)treatment,although the replacement of ferrihydrite by only mackinawite also increased the fraction of As in the residual phase,22.1%of the total As was released into the solution due to the poor adsorption affinity of As to mackinawite and the conversion of As^(5+)to As^(3+).The mechanisms of ferrihydrite reduction,mineralogy transformation,and As mobilization and redistribution mediated by sulfate-reducing bacteria are closely related to the surrounding SO_(4)^(2-)*** results advance our understanding of the biogeochemical behavior of Fe,S,and As,and are helpful for the risk assessment and remediation of As contamination.
