Clean air actions （CAAs） in China have been linked to considerable benefits in public ***,whether the beneficial effects of CAAs are equally distributed geographically is *** high-resolution maps of the distributions of major air pollutants (fine particulate matter[PM2.5]and ozone[O3]) and population,we aimed to track spatiotemporal changes in health impacts from,and geographic inequality embedded in,the reduced exposures to PM2.5and O3from 2013 to *** used a method established by the Global Burden of Diseases *** analyzing the changes in loss of life expectancy（LLE） attributable to PM2.5and O3,we calculated the gain of life expectancy （GLE） to quantify the health benefits of the air-quality ***,we assessed the geographic inequality embedded in the GLE using the Gini index （GI）.Based on risk assessments of PM2.5and O3,during the first stage of CAAs（2013 to 2017）,the mean GLE was 1.87 *** of the sum of the GLE was disproportionally distributed in about one quarter of the population exposed （GI 0.44）.During the second stage of CAAs（2017 to 2020）,the mean GLE increased to 3.94 months and geographic inequality decreased （GI 0.18）.According to our assessments,CAAs were enhanced,from the first to second stages,in terms of not only preventing premature mortality but also ameliorating health *** enhancements were related to increased sensitivity to the health effects of air pollution and synergic control of PM2.5and *** findings will contribute to optimizing future CAAs.

This paper presents an approach for robust target detection and localization in the context of UAV autonomous landing with partially occluded targets. Since the performance of the autonomous landing system largely depends on the accurate detection and positioning of the landing target, it is very important to deal with the local occlusion caused by obstacles or environmental factors. In order to improve the overall performance of the system, we propose a fault-tolerant target detection method and target completion strategy. The proposed target detection method combines image processing technology with feature extraction algorithm, which can recognize and locate the landing target even in the case of occlusion. The target completion strategy aims to recover the missing part of the occluded target and make the detection and location algorithm execute more reliably. We perform experiments on image data sets with different horizontal object occlusion to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The results show that our method successfully detects and locates the landing target under different occlusion levels, and significantly improves the performance of UAV autonomous landing system in the real scene. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Iron is a fundamental trace element essential for the immune system， and current research on iron supplements is increasingly focusing on food-derived peptides capable of binding iron ions. The objectives of this study were to characterize the iron-chelating peptide (MEPH) derived from Mytilus edulis and to investigate the effects of MEPH-Fe complexes on mice with iron deficiency-induced anemia (IDA). MEPH and iron(II) sulfate heptahydrate successfully formed MEPH-Fe complexes under conditions of 4.5 mg/mL concentration， 45 ℃ temperature， and 60 minutes of incubation， utilizing both carboxyl and amino binding sites. Compared to MEPH alone， the MEPH-Fe complexes exhibited fluorescence quenching， ultraviolet shifts， reduced X-ray diffraction peak intensities， stabilization during in vitro digestion， microstructural changes， increased particle size， and decreased absolute values of zeta potential. In the IDA mouse model， the MEPH-Fe complexes were able to restore body weight， hematological indices， organ coefficients， iron content in organs， and antioxidant capacity to normal levels. Additionally， they demonstrated beneficial effects on IDA-induced colonic inflammation by normalizing tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-10 (IL-10) levels. The results indicated that MEPH-Fe complexes had more positive effects on IDA mice compared to ferrous sulfate. In conclusion， this study provides valuable insights into the potential of MEPH-Fe complexes as iron supplements.

Hemispherical resonator gyroscope is one of the world's most reliable inertial sensors with the longest life span, and has a broad application prospect in aerospace, aviation, vehicles and other navigation fields. The quality factor of hemispherical resonators directly determines the working performance of the hemispherical resonator gyroscope. In this paper, we propose a model to predict the quality factor after grinding by removing subsurface damage of hemispherical resonators by HF etching. We also study the variation law of frequency split of hemispherical resonators in the etching process. The frequency split and quality factor are detected by using frequency sweep and vibration decay methods. The results show that HF etching can raise the quality factor from 5 × 104 to 3 × 106 and the variation pattern verifies the accuracy of the proposed model. The results obtained indicate that the effect of acid etching on the frequency split of the hemispherical resonator is not negligible. © 2022 IEEE.

Disturbance observer-based backstepping control for hypersonic flight vehicles without use of measured flight path angle

In this paper a nonlinear control method is proposed for the tracking control of hypersonic flight vehicles. The designed control laws do not utilize the measured flight path angle due to its inferior accuracy in practical engineering. For this, an estimated flight path angle is designed via the measurements of the altitude and velocity. A tracking differentiator is designed for constructing nonlinear disturbance observer which is used to estimate the model uncertainties including the parameter indeterminacies and external disturbances in the channels of velocity and pitch rate. A robust high-order differentiator is introduced to avoid the employment of the measured flight path angle and estimate the lumped disturbance in dynamics of flight path angle. Meanwhile, the possible saturation of the control inputs is considered and compensated by the auxiliary states. The boundness of closed-loop signals is proved through the Lyapunov theory. Comparative simulations are carried out and the results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Parvalbumin-positive retinal ganglion cells(PV+RGCs)are an essential subset of RGCs found in various ***,their role in transmitting visual information remains ***,we characterized PV+RGCs in the retina and explored the functions of the PV+RGC-mediated visual *** applying multiple viral tracing strategies,we investigated the downstream of PV+RGCs across the whole ***,we found that the PV+RGCs provided direct monosynaptic input to PV+excitatory neurons in the superficial layers of the superior colliculus(SC).Ablation or suppression of SC-projecting PV+RGCs abolished or severely impaired the flight response to looming visual stimuli in mice without affecting visual ***,using transcriptome expression profiling of individual cells and immunofluorescence colocalization for RGCs,we found that PV+RGCs are predominant glutamatergic ***,our findings indicate the critical role of PV+RGCs in an innate defensive response and suggest a non-canonical subcortical visual pathway from excitatory PV+RGCs to PV+SC neurons that regulates looming visual *** results provide a potential target for intervening and treating diseases related to this circuit,such as schizophrenia and autism.

Hydrochars as carbonaceous amendments rich in porous structures and nutrients can be used as promising slow-release fertilizers and soil health amendments. Yet, the performance of hydrochars derived from different feedstocks in improving crop plant growth and soil phosphorus (P) availability is not well understood. Here, a batch of sewage sludge (SS) and chicken manure (CM) derived hydrochars (SSCs and CMCs) were produced at 125 and 225 °C (SS125/225 and CM125/225) to investigate their characteristics and performances in improving the seedling growth of two representative crops, soybean (Glycine max) and corn (Zea mays), as well as the P availability in an acidic agricultural soil in comparison with triple super phosphate (TSP), a conventional P fertilizer. Compared with CMCs, SSCs with more porous and rougher surfaces contained relatively lower contents of carbon (C;32.3–33.3%), hydrogen (H;3.9–4.69%), and potassium (K;29.2–51 mg g−1), but higher contents of P (37.4–85.4%) and nitrogen (N;2.26–4.9%), as well as more O-containing and N-containing functional groups. The impacts of hydrochars on soybean and corn growth showed distinct variations. The application of SSCs showed little effect on soybean growth (i.e., biomass, chlorophyl contents, and number of leaves), while CMCs significantly increased its total dry biomass by 23.2–66.2%. For corn, both SSCs and CMCs increased the total dry biomass by 32.8–92.4% and 21.8–69.7%, respectively, compared to those in the un-amended soils. In addition, compared with the higher temperature hydrochars (SS225 and CM225), the lower temperature ones (SS125 and CM125) increased the total dry biomass by 24.6% and 34.9% for soybean and 44.8% and 39.3% for corn, respectively. The significant improvement in crop growth by hydrochars was mainly due to the direct nutrient supply (particularly P) by the hydrochars, which was supported by the increased soil and shoot P concentrations. Due to the scarcity of labeled faulty data in industrial practice, fault diagnosis models often face challenges related to overfitting and limited accuracy. This article introduces a novel solution to tackle the problem - a fault diagnosis method that leverages a combination of a semi-supervised prototype network and contrastive learning. Firstly, a limited number of labeled samples is employed to construct pairs of positive and negative samples. And the training method of contrastive learning is used to provide appropriate initial parameters for the autoencoder. Secondly, the autoencoder is employed as a feature mapping function within the prototype network and obtains the prototype using a limited number of labeled samples. Finally, a prototype refinement method fine-tunes the prototype through unlabeled data, reducing the impact of anomalous data and obtaining a more stable and accurate prototype. The effectiveness of the proposed method is evaluated using gearbox data as a validation dataset. Through comparative analysis with other methods, the results demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves superior diagnostic accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Anchorene,identified as an endogenous bioactive carotenoid-derived dialdehyde and diapocarotenoid,affects root development by modulating auxin ***,the precise interaction between anchorene and auxin,as well as the mechanisms by which anchorene modulates auxin levels,remain largely *** this study,we conducted a comparative analysis of anchorene's bioactivities alongside auxin and observed that anchorene induces multifaceted auxin-like *** genetic and pharmacological examinations,we revealed that anchorene's auxin-like activities depend on the indole-3-pyruvate-dependent auxin biosynthesis pathway,as well as the auxin inactivation pathway mediated by Group II Gretchen Hagen 3(GH3)proteins that mainly facilitate the conjugation of indole-3-acetic acid(IAA)to amino acids,leading to the formation of inactivated storage *** measurements indicated that anchorene treatment elevates IAA levels while reducing the quantities of inactivated IAA–amino acid conjugates and ox *** sequencing further revealed that anchorene triggers the expression of numerous auxin-responsive genes in a manner reliant on Group II ***,our in vitro enzymatic assays and biolayer interferometry(BLI)assay demonstrated anchorene's robust suppression of GH3.17-mediated IAA conjugation with ***,our findings highlight the significant role of carotenoid-derived metabolite anchorene in modulating auxin homeostasis,primarily through the repression of GH3-mediated IAA conjugation and inactivation pathways,offering novel insights into the regulatory mechanisms of plant bioactive apocarotenoids.
