Direct regeneration method has been widely concerned by researchers in the field of battery recycling because of its advantages of in situ regeneration,short process and less pollutant *** this review,we firstly analyze the primary causes for the failure of three representative battery cathodes(lithium iron phosphate,layered lithium transition metal oxide and lithium cobalt oxide),targeting at illustrating their underlying regeneration mecha-nism and *** stripping of material from the collector to obtain pure cathode material has become a first challenge in recycling,for which we report several pretreatment methods currently available for subsequent regeneration *** review and discuss emphatically the research progress of five direct regeneration methods,including solid-state sintering,hydrothermal,eutectic molten salt,electrochemical and chemical lithiation ***,the application of direct regeneration technology in production practice is introduced,the problems exposed at the early stage of the industrialization of direct regeneration technol-ogy are revealed,and the prospect of future large-scale commercial production is *** is hoped that this review will give readers a comprehensive and basic understanding of direct regeneration methods for used lithium-ion batteries and promote the industrial application of direct regeneration technology.

Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites are gradually developing towards to a large scale, in order to achieve a desired vision of ubiquitous connectivity and broadband access at anytime and anywhere. However, the increasing scale and highly dynamic nature of LEO constellation pose challenges to network management on its flexibility and scalability. Clustering is introduced as an effective approach to manage LEO satellite networks in a flexible manner. Unfortunately, satellite clusters encounter instability and high communication load due to frequent topology changes and traffic growth. In this paper, we design LEO satellites clustering models that jointly optimize cluster reliability and network communication load in the GEO/LEO network architecture. The coalition game framework is introduced to obtain a stable cluster structure by adopting an automated and centralized approach. A coalition formation algorithm based on the optimization of reliability and communication load is developed for the clustering problem. Finally, numerical simulations are carried out to evaluate the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed grouping and clustering scheme. © 2024 IEEE.

Milk fat globules(MFG)are the primary source of energy and functional factor in dairy-based *** evaluate the suitability of commercial MFG substitutes for infant and adult consumers,the lipolysis properties and regulatory factors in digesting bovine,caprine,and human MFG were *** lipolysis kinetic models of bovine and caprine MFG are comparable,with bovine MFG displaying the highest degree of lipolysis(50.21%)during gastric digestion in infants,resulting in the production short-chain saturated fatty *** MFG has a high rate of lipolysis due to its weak phospholipid-glycoprotein layer,which is prominent in both infants'and adults'*** effects of consuming bovine and caprine MFG for adults are comparable in terms of lipolysis properties and nutritional value of fatty *** gastrointestinal digestion,human MFG has the highest digestibility(93.98%).The advantages of human MFG include its phospholipid structure,exogenous lipase,and lipolysis-regulating *** study provides recommendation for the selection of milk fat substitutes and improvements in commercial dairy.

In order to solve the problems of long cycle and the difficulty of test, this paper proposes a method of power-in-the-loop motor simulator. Firstly, the topology of the motor simulator is proposed, composed of an interface filtering unit, a motor simulation unit and an energy management unit. Secondly, a discretization method for permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM) is designed for DSP control. Thirdly, this paper proposes a method combining quasi-proportional resonance control(QPR) and direct current control to ensure the control accuracy. Finally, the motor simulator is verified by experiments. © 2024 IEEE.

Aberrant neurodevelopment caused by GD3 synthase deficiency and its restoration of sea urchin ganglioside: insights from a CRISPR/Cas9-mediated st8sia1 knockout zebrafish

Ganglioside is a sialic acid-containing sphingolipid with multiple biological functions in neurodevelopment and neurodegeneration. The st8sia1-encoding GD3 synthase (GD3S) is involved in the biosynthesis of gangliosides GD3 and GD2， which are highly expressed in the developmental brain. However， the effect of exogenous ganglioside and endogenous glycosyltransferases GD3S on neurodevelopment still need to be determined due to the lack of in vivo ganglioside-deficient model. This study generated st8sia1 knockout zebrafish using CRISPR/Cas9-mediated gene editing. A st8sia1 guide-RNA was designed to target exon 1 in zebrafish and generate the homozygote with a 13-bp frameshift deletion， which caused the loss of GD3S function and disturbed the patterns of gangliosides. The st8sia1 mutant showed delayed development， impaired locomotor behavior， and neurodevelopmental defects represented by increased apoptosis of brain cells and small brain size. Further RNA-Seq analysis revealed that most regulated genes were enriched in axonal and cellular developmental， neurogenesis， and neuroactive ligand-receptor interaction pathways. Notably， the application of exogenous GM4(1S) and GD3 could improve the phenotypes and behavioral activity of st8sia1 knockout zebrafish， as well as restore the abnormal neurodevelopment with the underlying mechanism via upregulating the nestin， bdnf， map2， islet1， and elavl3 gene expressions. This study established a genetic model to elucidate the function of GD3S and exogenous ganglioside intervention in neurodevelopment. It provides the potential for high-throughput bioactive screening for brain nutrition.

The demand for flexible shielding has been rapidly growing in recent *** materials using solid metals,carbon materials,or MXenes as shielding units usually have difficulty in combining high shielding and flexibility(stretching and bending characteristics),and thus they gradually fail to meet the shielding needs of flexible ***,shielding materials with both flexibility and high conductivity are urgent to fill this ***-based room temperature liquid metal(LM)is an emerging functional material with a low melting point,low viscosity,low modulus,and easy ***,due to wettability and compatibility issues,it is difficult to apply bulk LMs directly in the field of electromagnetic shielding(EMS).The article reviews the fabrication methods,performance,and applications of LMs EMS materials from three perspectives:Macroscopic LMs,micro/nano-LMs,and LM-based *** gallium-based liquid EMS materials demonstrate the characteristics of high shielding performance with stretchability and a wide shielding *** this review,different types of gallium-based LM materials are described from macroscopic to microscopic,from liquid to semi-solid,from high density to low density,from room temperature to ultra-low temperature,and from monolayer structure to multilayer *** prospect of LM materials as amorphous high-performance EMS materials is demonstrated in various applications,such as mobile communication,astronomical observation,radar,and medical detection,showing tremendous potential in the EMS field.

Grain boundaries (GBs) are the most vulnerable areas of metals during high temperature forming and processing where microcracks are highly likely to affect their macroscopic properties, resulting in fracture and ultimately reduced service life. In order to investigate the mechanisms of micro- and nano-scale damage evolution, microcrack initiation and propagation, GBs must be included as a crucial consideration in the theoretical and modelling solutions. Thus, to accurately illustrate the influence mechanisms of GBs on the mechanical behaviours, the cohesive zone model (CZM) considering GB damage evolution and the crystal plasticity finite element model (CPFEM) coupling slip and twinning inside the grain, were combined to propose a micromechanical mechanism of TWIP steels, which is applicable to predict the strengthening, damage and fracture of TWIP steels under high temperature. The CZM-CPFE method was confirmed by in situ SEM experiments at 750 ℃. The representative volume elements (RVEs) are constructed to predict the high temperature deformation behaviour of TWIP steels with different grain sizes and initial microdefects to obtain the influence of different initial states on the high temperature deformation behaviour, which can provide the solid theoretical basis for the subsequent manufacturing and forming processes of TWIP steel sheets. This work not only fills the gap in theoretical modelling of TWIP steels in the field of hot processing and manufacturing, but also provides some research approaches and analysis strategies for the GB damage behaviour of polycrystalline materials at high temperatures. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Inertial navigation has gained extensive application because it solely relies on built-in Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) devices. Nevertheless, due to its inherent accumulative integral error, inertial navigation is often integrated with other external devices in practical situations, which unfortunately leads to unavoidable privacy breaches. To address these issues, an Inertial Navigation Neural Network (INN) is designed to generate high-precision position estimations without relying on any other auxiliary information. The INN model consists of attitude correction and velocity regression modules. The attitude module employs a convolutional network to correct the attitude information, and the obtained rotation matrices are then fed into a recurrent neural network to regress incremental velocities and produce high-precision positions. The proposed model is validated on the simulated trajectories based on the Precise Strapdown Inertial Navigation System (PSINS) toolbox. Experimental studies demonstrated that the proposed method has a significant corrective effect on high-dynamic strapdown inertial navigation settings. The accumulated position errors are an order of magnitude smaller than those of traditional track reckoning algorithms and achieved a comparable performance with integrated navigation. © 2024 IEEE.

The deployment of various emerging wireless services has necessitated that sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks integrate sensing, computing and communication within the same radio spectrum. However, it is challenging to improve the performance of the integrated sensing, communication, and computation (ISCC) systems in complex propagation environment. In this paper, we investigate the beamforming design problem in reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS)-aided ISCC systems, where an RIS can provide additional spatial degree of freedom. To this end, we first formulate a joint beamforming problem for RIS-aided ISCC, aiming to concurrently improve the performance for multiple target sensing, multi-dimensional computation, and multi-stream communication. Then we present joint optimization of various performances (JOVP) algorithm that minimizes the sum mean square error (MSE) of various demands under power constraints. Next, we analyze the impact of key system parameters on the overall performance of ISCC, providing valuable guidelines for system design. Finally, simulation shows that the sensing error of JOVP algorithm is reduced by at least 46.7% compared with the existing popular algorithms, while the computation rate and communication rate are increased by more than 49.1% and 22.2%, respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Empirical wavelet transform (EWT) is a recently proposed algorithm for single-channel signal separation, which has been widely applied in the field of fault diagnosis. With the development of sensors, multi-sensors are increasingly applied in equipment condition monitoring, and multi-channel signals can more comprehensively characterize the fault signals of bearings. Aiming at the problem that EWT cannot deal with multi-channel signals, the multivariate empirical wavelet transform (MEWT) method is proposed in this paper. Through analyzing the simulated fault signals for bearing, the effectiveness of the proposed MEWT method is verified, and the fault types of the bearings can be accurately diagnosed. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.
