Alpha-decay properties of nuclei around neutron magic numbers

By combining experimental α-decay energies and half-lives, the α-particle preformation factor for nuclei around neutron magic numbers N of 126, 152, and 162 were extracted using the two-potential approach. The nuclei around the shell closure were more tightly bound than adjacent nuclei. Additionally, based on the WS4 mass model (Wang et al., Phys. Lett.B 734, 215 (2014)), we extended the two-potential approach to predict the α-decay half-lives of nuclei around N values of178 and 184 with Z of 119 and 120. We believe that our findings will serve as guidelines for future experimental studies.

To address the issue of control signal chattering near the switching point for aero-engine switching system,an optimized control strategy that combines state-dependent switching law with a dwell time constraint and the tracking controller based on internal model is proposed. Firstly,internal model-based tracking controller with no static error is designed separately for the speed control and temperature protection control loop. Then,dwell time and system state are introduced into the switching law,proposing a switching law which depends on time and event. Moreover,the stability of the switching system is proved using the multiple Lyapunov function method. Finally,the validity of the proposed strategy is verified through digital simulation and hardware-in-the-loop(HIL) test. The results demonstrate that the proposed switching control strategy effectively reduces the temperature overshoot by 2.8% and the number of switching times by more than 90% compared to the conventional method. In addition,the proposed controller mitigates control signal chattering and has the feasibility of practical engineering application.

This article presents a novel distributed forward stimulated Brillouin scattering measurement scheme on polarization maintaining fiber (PM fiber) with a spatial resolution of 0.8 m named polarization separation assisted opto-mechanical time-domain analysis (PS-OMTDA). The activation pulse is injected into the fast axis and the probe pulse and probe wave is injected into the slow one, therefore, the acoustic wave is excited upon the fast axis but affected the probe wave on the slow axis. The backward Brillouin scattering of an activation pulse is effectively suppressed by isolating the acoustic activation and probing process. A spatial resolution of 80 cm is experimentally demonstrated over a PM fiber with a length of 34 m. © 2023 IEEE.

Compact Planar 220GHz Monopulse Antenna Based on Through Glass Vias SIW technology for Terahertz Space High Integration Tracking Application

This paper proposes a compact planar 220GHz monopulse antenna based on through glass vias SIW (TGV-SIW) technology. The TGV-SIW is composed of a glass dielectric substrate covered on both faces by a metallic layer. The glass substrate etches two parallel rows of metallic via holes delimiting the wave propagation area. The TGV-SIW technology has the advantages of low profile, low cost, and easy to process in the terahertz band. To validate experimentally the TGV-SIW technology, a monopulse antenna is designed and fabricated. The monopulse antenna consists of two layers; the upper layer is a 2 × 2 slot antenna array that functions as a four-horn feed. The lower layer is the planar sum-difference comparator, where any of the four ports is excited to produce the desired sum/difference beam form. The monopulse antenna is fabricated and measured, and the whole size including waveguide flanges is 50 × 50 × 0.508 mm (36 × 36 × 0.37 λ, λ is the free space wavelength). The simulated and measured results show that the antenna can be able to operate over 205–225 GHz, and the maximum gain with this operation frequency can be up to 27.15 dBi. The maximum null-depth is simulated to be − 42 dB. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, the monopulse antenna based on through glass vias technology is the first to be proposed in the terahertz frequency band, which not only achieves a high precision capture and tracking system, but more importantly, the verification of the TGV process presents an excellent candidate for space terahertz integration.

This paper introduces a grasping pose estimation algorithm tailored for two-fingered parallel grippers and consumer-grade depth cameras that can only capture low-precision point cloud information. Distinguishing itself from deep learning-based methods, this algorithm does not necessitate prior training on extensive datasets. Instead, it only requires acquiring a single frame of point cloud data from the target object's surface. After projection and subsequent two-dimensional PCA analysis, the algorithm adaptively generates grasping poses suitable for the current task, while considering the mechanical structure of the robotic arm. The experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm proposed in this paper achieves a high success rate in grasping common everyday objects. Furthermore, this algorithm can readily adapt to various combinations of robotic arm configurations and grippers. © 2023 IEEE.

In this paper, a LVDS parallel data re-calibration circuit for network interconnection on multi-chip is proposed. The operation states of the re-calibration circuit can be divided into four states: normal, empty, calibration and recovery. In each state, normal data packets that require cross chip transmission have different routing methods. During the operation of re-calibration circuit, normal data packets that need to be transmitted across chips can be routed to the destination bare chip through the bypass output channel using integrated routing algorithm. By using the ingenious isolation mechanism, not only normal data packets can be avoided to be lost, but also test data packets can be prevented from flowing into non calibrated circuit modules. So, it can ensure the normal operation of the integrated network. The re-calibration circuit proposed in this paper can enhance the reliability of multi-chip network interconnect system in real time, and has no significant impact on the system performance. © 2024 14th International Workshop on Computer science and Engineering, WCSE 2024. High-dimensional aerodynamic data modeling using a machine learning method based on a convolutional neural network

Modeling high-dimensional aerodynamic data presents a significant challenge in aero-loads prediction, aerodynamic shape optimization, flight control, and simulation. This article develops a machine learning approach based on a convolutional neural network (CNN) to address this problem. A CNN can implicitly distill features underlying the data. The number of parameters to be trained can be significantly reduced because of its local connectivity and parameter-sharing properties, which is favorable for solving high-dimensional problems in which the training cost can be prohibitive. A hypersonic wing similar to the Sanger aerospace plane carrier wing is employed as the test case to demonstrate the CNN-based modeling method. First, the wing is parameterized by the free-form deformation method, and 109 variables incorporating flight status and aerodynamic shape variables are defined as model input. Second, more than 7000 sample points generated by the Latin hypercube sampling method are evaluated by performing computational fluid dynamics simulations using a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes flow solver to obtain an aerodynamic database, and a CNN model is built based on the observed data. Finally, the well-trained CNN model considering both flight status and shape variables is applied to aerodynamic shape optimization to demonstrate its capability to achieve fast optimization at multiple flight statuses.

Acoustic lens is widely used in ultrasound imaging to manipulate the focusing of sound beams. In this paper, a three-dimensional gradient-index multifunctional lens based on circuit control is proposed. Different from the previous acoustic lens based on phonon crystal or crimp-space design, the lens is easy to manufacture and only depends on the refractive index tunable material to fill the lens structure. Based on multiple variable refractive index of this article Einstein ring RineHart curved shell structure, building material and refractive index of the mapping relation of shell structure, electrically induced regulation method of refractive index is put forward, make the surface acoustic wave propagation in a three-dimensional curved surface lens effect and its propagation in 2 d plane lens effect, instead of being placed in the surface concave and convex lens interference of objects. Several strange acoustic phenomena, such as invisibility cloak, Luneburg lens and Fisheye Lens, have been realized by simulation. By adjusting the gradient distribution of refractive index of the lens electrically, acoustic devices with different functional waveforms can be switched. The research results provide theoretical guidance for the design of a new type of multifunctional lens. © 2025 SPIE.

Spinel compounds are of great interest in both fundamental and application-oriented perspectives due to the geometric magnetic frustration inherent to their lattice and the resulting complex magnetic ***,we applied x-ray diffraction,magnetization,heat capacity and powder inelastic neutron scattering measurements,along with theoretical calculations,to study the exotic properties of chromite-spinel oxides CoCr_(2)O_(4) and MnCr_(2)O_(4).The temperature dependence of the phonon spectra provides an insight into the correlation between oxygen motion and the magnetic order,as well as the magnetoelectric effect in the ground state of MnCr_(2)O_(4).Moreover,spin-wave excitations in CoCr_(2)O_(4) and MnCr_(2)O_(4) are compared with Heisenberg model *** approach enables the precise determination of exchange energies and offers a comprehensive understanding of the spin dynamics and relevant exchange interactions in complicated spiral spin ordering.

In this work, the robust containment control problem of uncertain networked agent systems is addressed. The dynamics of both the followers and the leaders involve uncertain nonlinear components. Theoretically, a neural network-based adaptive control scheme with the event-triggered mechanism is designed for the follower agents to approach the convex hull which is composed of the leader agents. Furthermore, a unified event-triggered mechanism is designed to ensure that the neural networks synchronize with the reduced update frequency of the robust controller, while ensuring that both are updated solely when the system error state reaches a predetermined triggering condition. The designed event-triggered containment control scheme minimizes unnecessary communication and computation resulting from periodic updates, thereby enhancing the efficiency of communication and computational resource utilization. Then, by utilizing the Lyapunov stability theorem, it is proven that all signals of the closed-loop system are globally uniformly ultimately bounded, and Zeno behavior is strictly excluded. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed containment control scheme is verified through numerical simulation results. © 2024 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.
