The human brain possesses a highly developed capability for sensing-memory-computing,and the integration of hardware with brain-like functions represents a novel approach to overcoming the von Neumann *** this study,Ga_(2)O_(3) photoelectric memristors were successfully fabricated,enabling efficient visual information processing and complex recognition through the integration of optoelectronic synapses with digital *** memristors with a Pt/Ga_(2)O_(3)/Pt sandwich structure exhibit the coexistence of unipolar resistive switching(URS)and bipolar resistive switching(BRS),coupled with an impressive switching ratio and stable retention *** device demonstrates robust photo-responsive properties to ultraviolet(UV)light,which enables the realization of an array of 16 photoconductor types through the manipulation of four-timeframe pulse *** of the device to UV light elicits stable synaptic behaviors,including paired-pulse facilitation(PPF),short-term memory(STM),long-term memory(LTM),as well as learning-forgettingrelearning ***,the device exhibits outstanding image sensing,image memory,and neuromorphic visual preprocessing capabilities as a neuromorphic vision sensor(NVS).The integration of light pulse potentiation with electrical pulse depression yields a remarkable 100 conductances with superior *** advanced functionality is further validated by the ability of the device to facilitate the recognition of 85.3%of handwritten digits by artificial neural networks(ANNs),which underscores the significant potential of artificial synapses in mimicking biological neural.

Three-dimensional(3D)reconstruction of the equivalent pore network model(PNM)using X-ray computed tomography(CT)data are of significance for studying the CO_(2)-enhanced coalbed methane recovery(CO_(2)-ECBM).The docking among X-ray CT technology,MATLAB,with COMSOL software not only can realize the 3D reconstruction of PNM,but also the CO_(2)-ECBM process *** results show that the Median filtering algorithm enabled the de-noising of the original 2D CT slices,the image segmentation of all slices was realized based on the selected threshold,and the PNM can be constructed based on the Maximum Sphere *** mathematical model of CO_(2)-ECBM process fully coupled the expanded Langmuir *** the same time for CO_(2)injection,CH_(4)pressure tends to decrease with the increase of CO_(2)pressure,but its difference is not *** CH_(4)pressure in the slice center changed a lot,while at the edge it changed a little under different CO_(2)*** injected CO_(2)was transported to matrix along the macro and micro-fractures with continuous *** injected CO_(2)first replaced the adsorbed CH_(4)by covering the inner surface of macro-pores and meso-pores to form the single molecular layer adsorption of CO_(2).Then they migrated to micro-pores by Fick’s diffusion,sliding flow,and surface ***,the CO_(2)replaced CH_(4)adsorbed by volumetric filling in micro-pores,and formed the multi-molecular layer adsorption of CO_(2).The gas pressure and migration path between CO_(2)and CH_(4)are *** study can provide a theoretical basis for studying digital rock physics technology and enrich the development of CO_(2)-ECBM technology.

In the aircraft management system, the universality of aircraft target detection neural network model compression has been verified for many engineering application conditions such as full-range intelligent maneuvering target recognition in specific areas, long-distance maneuvering target detection, and deep space recognition of non-cooperative targets. A data set suitable for aerospace has been selected to complete variable-scale recognition without basically reducing the accuracy. The model is compressed to one-tenth, and the inference time is controlled at the millisecond level. Using neural network compression and quantization after pruning, a 90% compression rate SSD fixed-point model is achieved to control the resize process and effectively prevent precision dissipation, target loss of lock, and energy consumption expansion. Multi-acceleration IP core parallel computing is deployed on the mainland Zynq series single chip to achieve a peak performance of 1.2TOPS and an mAP value of 0.95, meeting the strict requirements of aerospace vehicles for single-time target recognition accuracy. ©2024 IEEE.

The geometrical errors are affected by many factors for a multi-axis machine tool, such as materials, manufacturing, assembly, measurement, control, and environmental. The geometric error will eventually be reflected in the accuracy of the workpiece;therefore, for each part of the machine tool, the measurement of geometric error is essential. Most geometrical errors are measured separately for each axis. The single geometrical error measurement method is time-consuming. The multiple geometric error measurement methods have some limitations based on different instruments. Laser tracker based on GPS (Global Positioning System) positioning principle can measure the dimensional coordinate. Thus, the laser tracker measured geometric errors in high efficiency, high precision, wide range. This paper introduces the method of measuring the multi-axis machine geometrical error by using a laser tracker with a 1280mm×1280mm×240mm range and compares the measurement result from the traditional method. The results show the laser tracker method has high measurement accuracy, and rapid measurement and compensation of geometrical errors are achievable on a large-stroke machine tools. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Soft robots develop rapidly through the advancements of actuation schemes, motion modalities, form factors and many other related techniques. In most scenarios, soft robots play important roles as actuators with limited capabilities in sensing and communication. This impedes the further developments of soft robots, since intelligent systems should possess capabilities in perception and interaction. Here, we propose a three-dimensional (3D) soft robot with the ability to perceive its static posture and dynamic responses. The robot can be controlled wirelessly through external magnetic fields to achieve multiple movement modalities. The robot can serve as a controllable intelligent wireless terminal and has great application potentials in remote operation, environmental monitoring, and the Internet-of-Things. © 2023 IEEJ.

Pre-combustion mercury removal with co-production of hydrogen via coal electrolysis

Pre-combustion mercury removal via coal electrolysis was performed and investigated on a bench-scale coal electrolytic cell(CEC)systemically,and factorial design was used to determine the effect of different operating conditions(coal particle size,operating temperature,operating cell voltage,and flow rate of slurry)on the percentage of mercury removal,percentage of ash removal,and dry heating value *** results showed that the operating cell voltage,as well as the interaction between operating cell voltage and coal particle size,are significant factors in the percentage of mercury *** is no significant factor in the percentage of ash removal and the dry heating value change,but the coal could be purified while keeping the dry heating value almost constant after electrolysis.A co-product of hydrogen could be produced during coal electrolysis with 50%lower energy consumption compared with water ***,a mechanism for mercury removal in coal was *** facts indicate that coal electrolysis is a promising method for precombustion mercury removal.

Thermal hazard and pyrolysis mechanism investigation using thermal analysis coupled with quantum-chemical DFT simulation for 1-hydroxy-7-azabenzotriazole

1-Hydroxy-7-azabenzotriazole (HOAT) as a key benzotriazole derivative has been widely used in biological, chemical, and pharmaceutical fields. Nevertheless, its energetic property was usually neglected and its thermal hazard characteristics were still unknown. Therefore, this study focused on analyzing the thermal hazard characteristics of HOAT in nonisothermal, isothermal, and adiabatic conditions through differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analyzer, and accelerating rate calorimeter. The relevant thermal decomposition parameters and process safety parameters were evaluated, and the most probable mechanistic function of the main exothermic stage of HOAT decomposition was identified. The microscopic pyrolysis mechanisms of HOAT were investigated based on density functional theory calculations, thermogravimetric-photoionization mass spectrometry, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and energy-dispersive spectra tests. Electrostatic potentials, Laplacian bond order, and main decomposition pathways of HOAT pyrolysis were explored. The research results demonstrated that HOAT decomposition is a process with large amounts of heat and gas released rapidly. The main gaseous products include N2, C2H2, NO, and HCN. The most dangerous step is the six-membered ring opening to form a five-membered carbon–nitrogen heterocyclic with higher heat release. This study contributed to understanding the thermal decomposition characteristics of HOAT and properly providing guidance for improving the thermal safety of HOAT production, transportation, storage, application and formulating emergency plans for related thermal hazards. Vertically aligned carbon nanotubes arrays(VACNTs)are a promising candidate for the thermal interface material(TIM)of next-generation electronic devices due to their attractive thermal and mechanical ***,the environment required for synthesizing VACNTs is harsh and severely incompatible with standard device packaging ***’extremely low in-plane thermal conductivity also limits its performance for cooling hot ***,using a transfer-and-encapsulate strategy,a two-step soldering method is developed to cap both ends of the VACNTs with copper microfoils,forming a standalone Cu-VACNTs-Cu sandwich TIM and avoiding the need to directly grow VACNTs on chip *** new TIM is fully compatible with standard packaging,with excellent flexibility and high thermal conductivities in both in-plane and through-plane *** mechanical compliance behavior and mechanism,which are critical for TIM applications,are investigated in depth using in situ *** thermal performance is further verified in an actual light emitting diode(LED)cooling experiment,demonstrating low thermal resistance,good reliability,and achieving a 17℃ temperature reduction compared with state-of-the-art commercial *** study provides a viable solution to VACNTs’longstanding problem in device integration and free-end contact resistance,bringing it much closer to application and solving the critical thermal bottleneck in next-generation electronics.

In this work,an 8×8 Ga_(2)O_(3)solar-blind ultraviolet photodetector array is introduced for image sensing *** 2-in wafer-scaled Ga_(2)O_(3)thin film was grown by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition technique;and the photodetector array was fabricated through ultraviolet photolithography,lift-off,and electron-beam *** addition to the high solar-blind/visible rejection ratio of 104,every photodetector cell in the array has high performance and fast response speed,such as responsivity of 49.4 A W^(-1),specific detectivity of 6.8×10^(14)Jones,external quantum efficiency of 1.9×10^(4)%,linear dynamic range of 117.8 d B,and response time of 41 ms,respectively,indicating the high photo-response performance of the ***,the photodetector array displayed uniform responsivity with a standard deviation of~6%,and presented a sensing image of low chromatic aberration,owing to the high resolution of the photodetector *** a word,this work may contribute to developing Ga_(2)O_(3)-based optoelectronic device applications.
