Large aperture planar optical elements are required in high power laser systems, and the mid-spatial frequency error of the surface of the high-power laser component will affect the normal operation of the high-power laser system. In recent years, there are many new MRF devices, but these devices only improve the removal efficiency of polishing materials and ignore the stability of MRF tools. As we all know, the fluctuation of the MRF polishing ribbon will affect the stability of the removal function, which will make the surface of the processed component produce the mid-spatial frequency error. Therefore, based on the array magnetorheological pole structure newly developed in our laboratory, this paper tests its magnetic field distribution and studies the influencing factors of array magnetorheological ribbon fluctuation. Based on the magnetic field force, the effects of magnetorheological fluid flow, polishing wheel speed, and magnetic pole structure on ribbon fluctuation are analyzed. Finally, by using the improved array magnetorheological device to obtain a stable removal function, the volume removal efficiency of fused silica reaches 0.022mm3/min, which verifies the feasibility of the improved device and doubles the removal efficiency of magnetorheological finishing of a single ribbon. Therefore, we use controlled magnetorheological processing flow and speed to control ribbon fluctuations and designing the magnetic pole structure, to control the stability of magnetorheological processing. © 2022 Institute of Physics Publishing. Submarine groundwater discharge(SGD)has received increasing attention by studies on coastal areas;however,its effects on biogeochemical zonation have not been investigated to *** Huanghe River Estuary(HRE)is a world class river estuary with high turbidity,and heavy human *** study investigated how SGD is related to the benthic biogeochemistry of the *** on the distribution of several parameters(e.g.,salinity,temperature,dissolved oxygen(DO)levels,p H,radium isotopes,and nutrients),the HRE was subdivided into six different zones,and the SGD fluxes within each zone were quantified and *** highest SGD flux was found in the northwest nearshore zone,where it was more than one order of magnitude higher than in the offshore *** SGD resulted in low DO and p H,but high nutrient levels in the benthic boundary *** southeast nearshore zone was also characterized by high SGD flux,but benthic waters were more oxic because of the dominating inputs by the Huanghe *** data suggest that such a zonation would help to understand benthic biogeochemical *** SGD may not only contribute to the estuarine nutrient budget,but may also contribute to the formation of hypoxia and acidification.

Magnetic particulate matter(PM)has raised increasing concern due to its abundant presence in ambient air and negative health ***,there is still a lack of comprehensive understanding of their emission sources and *** here report the observation of high magnetic property and toxicity of PM generated during typical welding and cutting ***,formed during high-temperature operation with less oxygen pressure,was revealed to be the major magnetic *** averaged saturation magnetization and magnetic susceptibility values of fine PM(PM_(2.5))from welding processes are 1.4−4.2 times greater than those of PM emitted from other unintended emission sources,including iron and steel plants and brake wear,while they are 2.0−5.7 times greater for the cutting ***,PM_(2.5)from welding and cutting processes are nearly 3.5−4.5 times more neurovirulent and 2.1−7.0 times more likely to induce oxidative stress than those from other magnetic sources in the nerve cells ***,all of these magnetic PM_(2.5)exhibit greater negative health effects than typical atmospheric PM_(2.5)collected in Shanghai urban *** new findings suggest that appropriate occupational protection measures should be implemented for the welding and cutting process to reduce adverse health impacts.

Fission yeast cells mix parental mitochondria in a progressive manner during meiosis

Mitochondria in many fungi are inherited uniparentally during meiosis. It has remained unclear whether parental mitochondria in the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe are inherited uniparentally or biparentally. Here, we assessed the mixing of parental mitochondria carefully by live-cell microscopy and developed an algorithm to determine the degree of mitochondrial mixing in a quantitative manner. We found that parental mitochondria in fission yeast cells were mixed progressively as meiosis progressed. Moreover, we established that mitochondrial fission and the size of the conjugation neck are the limiting factors in restricting the mixing of parental mitochondria. We further employed a combination of quantitative polymerase chain reaction, fluorescent live-cell microscopy, and transmission electron microscopy approaches to examine the mitochondrial inheritance of progeny cells derived from a cross between wild-type and Rho0 (mitochondrial DNA absent) cells. The results show that all progeny cells of the cross carry mitochondrial DNA. Hence, our data support the model in which parental mitochondria in the fission yeast S. pombe are inherited biparentally during meiosis.

Limited statistical frame number and strong backscatter interference from smoke result in a photon-starved regime, severely limiting the depth imaging capability of array Gm-APD lidar in smoky environment. Here, we propose a depth image estimation algorithm that can significantly improve the integrity of targets in dense smoke environments when signal photons are starved. At the signal level, the algorithm improves the accuracy of extracting signal photons by constructing multi-scale superpixels. At the image level, using edge information of depth images at different scales to guide and fill the original scale depth image achieves efficient noise reduction and improves target integrity. It has been successfully demonstrated under different attenuation lengths and statistical frame numbers. Compared with other state-of-the-art methods, the proposed algorithm has maximum target recovery and structural similarity, especially for the attenuation length (AL) is 3.6 and statistical frame number is 1500 (imaging time is 75ms). This study is of great significance for the fast depth imaging of dynamic targets by array Gm-APD lidar in dense smoke environments. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. With the rapid increase in demand for the fifth-generation mobile communication technology (5G) in the BusinesstoBusiness (ToB) market, future factories, especially those involving a large number of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, will prioritize deploying private networks to achieve prioritized scheduling, resource allocation, and security control over the entire network. The User Plane Function (UPF) is an important network element in the 5G core network. In practical deployments, UPF typically uses dedicated hardware devices, which are not only expensive but also have a tightly coupled architecture that imposes certain limitations on future network upgrades and scalability. To achieve flexible deployment of Network Private Network (NPN), we implemented the 5G core network architecture using Software Defined Networking (SDN) with Programming Protocol-Independent Packet Processors (P4) programmable switch. Subsequently, we conducted the connectivity test of the core network and analyzed the maximum achievable user capacity. Considering that the introduction of SDN may bring new security risks to private networks, we have designed a solution to mitigate SDN data plane Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks and have proven its effectiveness through practical experiments. © 2023 IEEE.

This study mainly monitored the dominant bacterial populations and identified the spoilage-related microorganisms of braised chicken meat stored under different CO_(2)-modified atmosphere packaging(MAP)during refrigerated storage using a culture-dependent method and 16S rDNA *** quality changes and shelf life of the meat were also *** growth rate of total viable count(TVC)in braised chicken was slower with an increase of CO_(2) content in MAP,which also occurred in the remaining bacterial species monitored(lactic acid bacteria,Pseudomonas spp.,Brochothrix thermosphacta).The MAP exerted beneficial effects on the quality of braised chicken,as demonstrated by retarding the production of total volatile basic nitrogen(TVB-N)and delaying lipid oxidation(TBARS test).A total of 14 isolates were identified from braised chickens with different packaging at the end of storage,these included ***(6 isolates),***(2 isolates),Enterococcus faecalis(3 isolates),***(2 isolates),Staphylococcus equorum(1 isolate).

Coherent scanning interferometry (CSI) has the obvious advantages for nondestructive, high efficiency and high precision which is widely used in micro-nano surface metrology. CSI realizes the reconstruction of surface topography based on a series of interferograms obtained during vertical scanning. This paper discusses the source of interferograms noise and denoising methods, and analyzes the influence of interferogram noise on topography reconstruction. Aiming at solving the heavy and time-consuming task for denoising of a large number of interferograms and the demand for real-time online measurement in modern optics, a noise immune surface metrology method based on signal analysis and processing technology on light intensity difference square (IDS) is proposed. Based on the method proposed in this paper, the surface topography reconstruction can be accurately realized without preprocessing for the interferograms denoising. Finally, the proposed method is verified by simulation and measurement experiments. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper reports a novel MEMS resonant structure functioning as a baseline resonant electrostatic force/temperature sensor, highlighting its substantial potential in sensing applications. The resonator, characterized by a dual-cosine structure, is capable of simultaneous multiple resonant modes actuation within the 300 kHz range, through a sole-source drive approach using the recent emerging Blue Sideband Excitation (BSE) technique. This method enables a distinctive multi-modal response, essential for multi-parameter measurements. The research focuses on the sensor's temperature characteristics, electrostatic perturbation sensitivity, and noise floor. Notably, the study reveals intriguing temperature responses across different modes, where certain modes exhibit a significant frequency rise with increasing temperature, this is counter-intuitive with common MEMS resonator devices, prompting further investigation into the underlying mechanisms. The analysis of electrostatic perturbation sensitivity and noise background further unfolds the resonator's performance under various excitation conditions, laying a foundation for advancing sensor functionality, and providing solid evidence on the viability of the subject. To sum up, this study highlights the resonator's potential as a high-precision sensor, opening new opportunities for MEMS sensor design and multi-parameter measurement applications. © 2025 IEEE.
