In affine formation control problems, the construction of the framework with universal rigidity and affine localizability is a critical prerequisite, but it has not yet been well addressed, especially when additional agents join the formation or link/agent failures emerge. Motivated by this observation, we investigate the problem of constructing affine formation frameworks in three scenarios, including vertex addition, edge deletion and vertex deletion. Our approach starts from the original affine formation and uses geometric methods to locally adjust the structure of the weighted graph to describe the topology, so that the modified framework maintains the universal rigidity and affine localizability. Notably, the developed strategies only utilize local measurements and exhibit distributed characteristics, laying the foundation for applications in multi-agent systems. To demonstrate the compatibility with affine formation control proposals, we present a case study on affine formation tracking in a multi-UAV formation, demonstrating the effectiveness of our algorithms in constructing eligible frameworks in aforementioned scenarios. Moreover, a comparative simulations is also conducted to highlight the low time complexity of our distributed algorithm relative to the centralized optimization-based method. Efficient Semantic Splatting for Remote Sensing Multiview Segmentation

Remote sensing multiview image segmentation is essential for achieving accurate and consistent stereoscopic perception of target scenes. This task involves processing RGB images from multiple viewpoints to generate high-accuracy, view-consistent semantic segmentation across all views. Traditional training-based methods struggle with maintaining cross-view consistency, while optimization-driven approaches using implicit neural networks improve view consistency but suffer from slow parameter optimization and inference. To overcome these limitations, we propose a novel Gaussian splatting-based semantic segmentation framework. Our method efficiently projects the color attributes and semantic features of 3-D Gaussians onto the image plane, enabling the simultaneous generation of both RGB images and segmentation outputs. By leveraging explicit spatial structures and a splatting rendering strategy, our approach significantly enhances optimization efficiency and rendering speed. In addition, we incorporate SAM2 to generate pseudo-labels for boundary regions, addressing the lack of supervision in sparsely labeled views (e.g., 3%). To further enforce cross-view consistency and feature coherence of 3-D Gaussians, we introduce a two-level aggregation loss that operates at both the 2-D feature map and 3-D spatial levels. Extensive experiments across nine datasets demonstrate the superiority of our method, achieving competitive segmentation quality with limited supervisory views. Notably, our approach reduces rendering (inference) times by 90%, while improving the average mean intersection over union (mIoU) by up to 3.5%. © 1980-2012 IEEE.

Heading errors of atomic magnetometers refer to the dependence of measurement results on the sensor orientation with respect to the external magnetic field. There are three main sources of such errors: the light shift effect, the linear nuclear-spin Zeeman effect, and the nonlinear Zeeman effect. In this work, we suppress the first two effects by using the Bell-Bloom optical pumping method and probe the atomic signals while the pumping beam is off, and focus on the heading error induced by nonlinear Zeeman effect while the sensor operates in the geomagnetic field range. We demonstrate several schemes to suppress this remaining heading error within 1 nT using a single magnetometer or a comagnetometer. In the magnetometer system, two schemes are developed to average out the horizontal atomic polarization in space or in time, respectively. In the comagnetometer system, we combine the simultaneously measured Larmor frequencies of two different alkali atoms to either suppress the heading error or extract the orientation of the pumping beam relative to the bias field.

Design of large ring-column antenna satellite attitude-orbit integrated füll propulsion system

As a key space structure in geostationary orbit, 100-meter level large ring-column antenna satellite is tasked with providing high-speed information transmission and stable communication Service in this orbit. This requires satellites having precise orbit maintenance and attitude control capabilities. Due to such satellites typically having larger masses and special structural designs, here, the high-precision orbit prediction algorithm was used to finely model and analyze effects of key space environmental factors of solar pressure, non-spherical perturbations and 3-body gravity on space Operation of such spacecrafts. Furthermore, referring to the design concept of formation-flying gravity field measurement satellites, a distributed füll thrust control strategy based on thruster layout optimization for such spacecrafts was proposed. Then, an improved explicit model predictive control algorithm was proposed based on Laguerre function to convert device capability limitations and Performance requirements into input-output constraints, combine multi-parameter programming, and realize attitude-orbit integrated control of such satellites. The simulation results showed that during stable Operation, position maintenance errors of such satellites can be controlled within a meter-level ränge, and attitude angle errors are better than 0. 03°;the computational efficiency of the proposed control algorithm is significantly higher than that of the Standard model predictive control algorithm and Laguerre function-based model predictive control algorithm;the hardware memory occupied is much lower than that of the explicit model predictive control *** theoretical analysis and numerical verification, it was shown that this study can provide an effective solving scheme for füll thruster integrated control of large ring-column antenna satellites in oomplex space environment using onboard Computers with limited Computing power. © 2025 Chinese Vibration Engineering Society.

In the field of optics, infrared and visible images are often required for use in different situations. In particular, in the field of optical sensors, infrared and visible sensors are mainly used to obtain different band images, which are applied to improve the comprehensive information content of images and to improve the quality and availability of images. In existing infrared and visible image fusion methods, the focus is often placed on retaining the background information from visible images and the salient targets from infrared images. To address this issue, we introduce a multi-scale dilated attention module into the encoder-decoder structure of the generator. By applying dilated convolution and selfattention mechanisms, this module improves the perceptual capability of the model, thereby improving performance without increasing network complexity. This design emphasizes gradient information and detailed features in visible images. Experimental results on the public TNO dataset demonstrate that our method achieves superior visual quality and preserves the most abundant image information. Moreover, experiments on spacecraft images validate the robustness and applicability of our approach. Simultaneously, our method also provides significant technical support for the optical field. © 2025 Current Optics and Photonics.

Imp: Highly Capable Large Multimodal Models for Mobile Devices

By harnessing the capabilities of large language models (LLMs), recent large multimodal models (LMMs) have shown remarkable versatility in open-world multimodal understanding. Nevertheless, they are usually parameter-heavy and computation-intensive, thus hindering their applicability in resource-constrained scenarios. To this end, several lightweight LMMs have been proposed successively to maximize the capabilities under constrained scale (e.g., 3B). Despite the encouraging results achieved by these methods, most of them only focus on one or two aspects of the design space, and the key design choices that influence model capability have not yet been thoroughly investigated. In this paper, we conduct a systematic study for lightweight LMMs from the aspects of model architecture, training strategy, and training data. Based on our findings, we obtain Imp - a family of highly capable LMMs at the 2B$\sim$4B scales. Notably, our Imp-3B model steadily outperforms all the existing lightweight LMMs of similar size, and even surpasses the state-of-the-art LMMs at the 13B scale. With low-bit quantization and resolution reduction techniques, our Imp model can be deployed on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8Gen3 mobile chip with a high inference speed of about 13 tokens/s. © 2025 IEEE.

The advent of large-scale mobile monitoring using fast-response instruments has enabled hyperlocal mapping (≤100 m) of traffic-related air pollution (TRAP), with important implications for air quality management. However, most related studies have been confined within small areas due to the high cost and labor intensity. This study pioneers a cost-effective TRAP mapping method by incorporating large-scale mobile monitoring and land-use machine learning (LUML). Here, over 4.6 million 1 Hz high-frequency measurements (∼1300 h) were collected on a part of major roadways in the Chinese megacity of Shenzhen. Unmeasured locations were estimated by LUML models to reduce measurement costs and labor intensity. Various ML algorithms and varying spatial aggregation segment lengths were incorporated to optimize the model performance. Hyperlocal maps of NO, NO2, and PM2.5were predicted across the entire road network covering over 1700 km2. Based on our results, LU-RF (random forest) for mapping NO and NO2and LU-GBM (Gradient Boosting Machine) for mapping PM2.5, demonstrated superior performance. Deep learning models, in contrast, did not yield comparable results. Finer partitioning of road segments (≤100 m) improved NO prediction performance, but worsened that for NO2and PM2.5. By deployment of optimal ML algorithms and segment lengths, the TRAP mapping accuracy increased by 20–80% compared to conventional land-use regression models. This study provides a promising and cost-effective approach to hyperlocal air pollution mapping and management in cities worldwide.

Dynamic analysis of rigid-flexible coupling spacecraft based on Euler parameters

With the development of aerospace technology, rigid-flexible coupling spacecraft with strong nonlinearity dominates, bringing huge challenges for numerical tools. This paper aims to accurately and quickly analyze the dynamic behavior of rigid-flexible coupling spacecraft. In our work, rigid body and flexible body are both described by Euler parameters for avoiding singular angles. Then, for this type of strong nonlinear dynamic system, the BN-stable method that is unconditionally stable for nonlinear initial value problems proposed by the first author is introduced to solve the transient responses. To keep the accuracy of the numerical rotation matrix, the relation between the angular velocity and Euler parameters, and the constraint in the level of velocity, are introduced to reformulate the original BN-stable method. Through the dynamic analysis for rigid satellite bodies and flexible solar wings, we find that the proposed strategy can effectively simulate the dynamic responses of spacecraft, and compared to the currently popular strategy, our strategy enjoys considerable advantages in accuracy, stability, and dissipation. © The Author(s) 2025.
