With global surge in reservoir construction over the past decades,river systems worldwide have been profoundly ***,flow manipulation by reservoirs has altered the natural hydrological processes,resulting in extensive modifications of fluvial-marine *** the adverse ecological consequences of reservoirs has become a global concern and has garnered increasing *** Yellow River,as one of the most extensively manipulated river systems globally,has experienced substantial changes in the amount and timing of water discharge due to the presence of numerous reservoirs scattered throughout its catchment *** alterations have caused physicochemical changes in the estuary and subsequent modifications to the estuarine *** recent years,the Yellow River Conservancy Committee initiated the release of water through the Xiaolangdi Dam during the major spawning period of fisheries,specifically in the spring,with the aim of improving the estuarine ecological *** 2011 to 2020,a total of 84.05 km^(3)of water was discharged from the Xiaolangdi Reservoir during spring seasons,of which 40%(33.16 km^(3))constituted water impounded within the reservoir during preceding ***,the spring water discharge from the Yellow River to the sea increased significantly from 1.50 km^(3)/yr to 3.46 km^(3)/yr in the past decade,leading to a decrease in estuarine salinity by 1.6 *** estuarine fishery resources,such as fish eggs in the Yellow River estuary,have demonstrated evident *** reservoir regulation in the Yellow River,which has successfully enhanced spring water discharge and subsequently restored estuarine fishery resources,presents an effective attempt for mitigating the adverse ecological effects associated with reservoirs.

Currently, protocol fuzzing techniques mainly employ two approaches: greybox fuzzing based on mutation and blackbox fuzzing based on generation. Greybox fuzzing techniques use message exchanges between the protocol server and actual clients as seeds, and generate test cases through mutation. Although this approach can provide coverage information of the SUT's code and state space through instrumentation and feedback, its drawback lies in the relatively random mutation strategy, which makes it challenging to validate the SUT's message verification process. This paper addresses this limitation by utilizing artificial intelligence techniques to extract protocol state machines. It aims to overcome the reliance on manual work in blackbox fuzzing based on generation and leverage its advantages to generate more effective fuzzing test cases. The study utilizes Prompt-Learning technology to analyze the semantic information in protocol RFC documents, obtain corresponding intermediate representations, and extract protocol state machines from these representations. Taking the BGP protocol as an experimental subject, the experimental results demonstrate a certain level of accuracy in the obtained protocol state machines and the ability to generate test cases from these state machines, thereby enhancing the automation level of protocol fuzzing. © 2023 IEEE.

Dynamics and stability analysis of unbalance responses in mid-positioned electrically assisted turbocharger rotor

Electrically assisted turbochargers(EAT)improve intake efficiency by motor-assisted compressor impeller rotation,enhancing the system's transient ***,the addition of motor rotor components has increased the number of unbalanced positions in the shaft system,leading to problems such as excessive compressor end vibration and complex changes in oil film *** evaluate the effects of unbalance in the motor rotor,along with the parameters of floating ring bearings(FRB),on the dynamic response of EAT,a finite element model of an EAT rotor supported by nonlinear FRB is developed,and the vibration response of the compressor end bearing is obtained by numerical *** results indicate:(1)In contrast to the effect of compressor and turbine unbalance,proper motor rotor unbalance is more effective in suppressing oil whirl instability in the high-speed operating ***,a new inner oil film whirl“instability interval”is also induced in the low-speed operating range,leading to an increase in the Y1 compressor-end amplitude at low and medium speeds,and this“instability interval”increases with the amount of unbalance.(2)When an oil whirl occurs in the oil film,the maximum eccentricity of the bearing surges and is greater than 0.3,which can be used as an effective threshold for determining whether the oil film is unstable in engineering applications.(3)A suitable outer oil-film clearance range should be 35–40μm,otherwise,a wide range of outer oil-film whirl instability *** the amount of unbalance and oil-film clearance to suppress the subsynchronous vibration of the EAT,provides a theoretical basis for the design of the dynamics of the nonlinear rotor bearing system and improves the stability of the turbocharger's operation.

Dynamic graph neural networks are a research hotspot in the field of deep learning, especially in social networks, recommendation systems, traffic networks and other fields with very wide applications. At present, most of the commonly used deep learning based network analysis methods are focused on discrete dynamic graph neural networks. However, the effectiveness of discrete graph neural network methods is based on the degree of good or bad snapshot segmentation of dynamic networks, so this paper proposes a snapshot clustering segmentation method (SCSM) for dynamic networks, and researchers can effectively segment the snapshots of dynamic networks by the SCSM method in this paper to make the downstream tasks can get good results. © 2023 SPIE.

Formation target track sorting is an important problem in multi-target track processing. Unlike the processing of periodic scans and point tracks of active radar, passive positioning data has the problems of irregular positioning period and difficulty in distinguishing multiple targets by target signal attributes. In this paper, we propose a track initiation algorithm for passive positioning system based on density clustering and Hough transform for the characteristics of passive positioning system. The algorithm first uses the density clustering algorithm to identify the cluster centers of targets with large measurement errors, and then uses the Hough transform method to initiate a track. © 2023 SPIE.

An essential tool for diagnosing heart diseases is the electrocardiogram (ECG) signal. The accuracy of the diagnosis is impacted by the noise that occurs while this signal is being acquired. Denoising turns into a foundational step in this context. DWT-ADTF is an effective ECG signal-denoising method. This work tries to provide an HW/SW co-design solution to this method. In this work,polarization mode dispersion(PMD)in polarization-maintaining(PM)fibers,to the best of our knowledge,is first proposed and experimentally proved to be responsible for severe spectral modulations in ultrafast PM fiber amplifiers,the introduction of which can give reasonable explanation for the dense spectral ripples imposed on the spectra of amplified lasers from the commonly used all-PM-fiber or hybrid“PM-fiber+bulk crystal”amplifiers,including both high-power amplifiers with remarkable nonlinear effects(self-phase modulation,SPM)and even low-power amplifiers with negligible nonlinear effects.

Robust Self-Localization of Wireless Acoustic Sensor Networks

Wireless acoustic sensor networks (WASNs), or the so-called internet of audio things (IoAuTs), have attracted increasing attention in the IoT community. As the geometry structure of WASNs is required in audio/speech processing tasks like source localization or acoustic beamforming, automatic self-localization of sensors is necessary. However, most of the existing approaches suffer from poor stability, as their constructed cost functions involve non-convex programming. To address this issue, we investigate the robust self-localization (or geometry calibration) of WASNs in this paper. Specifically, a rough self-localization (RSL) method is first presented based on measurements including time-difference-of-arrivals (TDoAs), direction-of-arrivals (DoA), and energy-rates (ERs), and its closed-form solution is further derived. As ER estimates are sensitive to acoustic environments, the performance of the RSL method is somewhat limited. Therefore, a precise self-localization (PSL) method is then developed by building a weighted (and non-convex) TDoA-DoA cost function, after regarding the RSL approach as an initialization step. As the RSL offers better initial values compared with existing initialization strategies, the combination of RSL and PSL methods (named as RSL-PSL method) shows stronger robustness and stability. In addition, computational complexity of both RSL and PSL methods are analyzed in details. Finally, the Cramér-Rao Bound (CRB) of the PSL method is derived to show its theoretical lower bound. The proposed RSL-PSL method outperforms the state-of-the-arts in terms of stability and accuracy, which is confirmed by numerical real-world and simulation experiments. © 2014 IEEE.

Ecosystems are undergoing unprecedented persistent deterioration due to unsustainable anthropogenic human activities,such as overfishing and deforestation,and the effects of such damage on ecological stability are *** recent advances in experimental and theoretical studies on regime shifts and tipping points,theoretical tools for understanding the extinction chain,which is the sequence of species extinctions resulting from overexploitation,are still lacking,especially for large-scale nonlinear networked *** this study,we developed a mathematical tool to predict regime shifts and extinction chains in ecosystems under multiple exploitation situations and verified it in 26 real-world mutualistic networks of various sizes and *** discovered five phases during the exploitation process:safe,partial extinction,bistable,tristable,and collapse,which enabled the optimal design of restoration strategies for degraded or collapsed *** validated our approach using a 20-year dataset from an eelgrass restoration ***,we also found a specific region in the diagram spanning exploitation rates and competition intensities,where exploiting more species helps increase *** computational tool provides insights into harvesting,fishing,exploitation,or deforestation plans while conserving or restoring the biodiversity of mutualistic ecosystems.
