Van der Waals epitaxial growth of single-crystal molecular film

Epitaxy is the cornerstone of semiconductor technology, enabling the fabrication of single-crystal *** advancements in van der Waals（vd W） epitaxy have opened new avenues for producing wafer-scale single-crystal 2D atomic crystals. However, when it comes to molecular crystals, the overall weak vd W force means that it is a significant challenge for small molecules to form a well-ordered structure during *** we demonstrate that the vd W epitaxy of Sb2O3molecular crystal, where the whole growth process is governed by vd W interactions, can be precisely controlled. The nucleation is deterministically modulated by epilayer–substrate interactions and unidirectional nuclei are realized through designing the lattice and symmetry matching between epilayer and substrate. Moreover, the growth and coalescence of nuclei as well as the layer-by-layer growth mode are kinetically realized via tackling the Schwoebel-Ehrlich barrier. Such precise control of vd W epitaxy enables the growth of single-crystal Sb2O3molecular film with desirable thickness. Using the ultrathin highly oriented Sb2O3film as a gate dielectric, we fabricated MoS2-based field-effect transistors that exhibit superior device performance. The results substantiate the viability of precisely managing molecule alignment in vd W epitaxy, paving the way for large-scale synthesis of single-crystal 2D molecular crystals.

Target tracking is an essential task in contemporary computer vision ***,its effectiveness is susceptible to model drift,due to the different appearances of targets,which often compromises tracking robustness and *** this paper,a universally applicable method based on correlation filters is introduced to mitigate model drift in complex *** employs temporal-confidence samples as a priori to guide the model update process and ensure its precision and consistency over a long *** improved update mechanism based on the peak side-lobe to peak correlation energy(PSPCE)criterion is proposed,which selects high-confidence samples along the temporal dimension to update temporal-confidence *** experiments on various benchmarks demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a competitive performance compared with the state-of-the-art *** when the target appearance changes significantly,our method is more robust and can achieve a balance between precision and ***,on the object tracking benchmark(OTB-100)dataset,compared to the baseline,the tracking precision of our model improves by 8.8%,8.8%,5.1%,5.6%,and 6.9%for background clutter,deformation,occlusion,rotation,and illumination variation,*** results indicate that this proposed method can significantly enhance the robustness and precision of target tracking in dynamic and challenging environments,offering a reliable solution for applications such as real-time monitoring,autonomous driving,and precision guidance.

Enhanced Tube-Based Event-Triggered Stochastic Model Predictive Control With Additive Uncertainties

This paper proposes an event-triggered stochastic model predictive control for discrete-time linear time-invariant(LTI) systems under additive stochastic disturbances. It first constructs a probabilistic invariant set and a probabilistic reachable set based on the priori knowledge of system *** with enhanced robust tubes, the chance constraints are then formulated into a deterministic form. To alleviate the online computational burden, a novel event-triggered stochastic model predictive control is developed, where the triggering condition is designed based on the past and future optimal trajectory tracking errors in order to achieve a good trade-off between system resource utilization and control performance. Two triggering parameters σ and γ are used to adjust the frequency of solving the optimization problem. The probabilistic feasibility and stability of the system under the event-triggered mechanism are also examined. Finally, numerical studies on the control of a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning(HVAC) system confirm the efficacy of the proposed control.

This study presents an overview on intelligent reflecting surface(IRS)-enabled sensing and communication for the forthcoming sixth-generation(6G) wireless networks, in which IRSs are strategically deployed to proactively reconfigure wireless environments to improve both sensing and communication(S&C) performance. First, we exploit a single IRS to enable wireless sensing in the base station's(BS's) non-line-of-sight(NLoS) area. In particular, we present three IRS-enabled NLoS target sensing architectures with fully-passive, semi-passive, and active IRSs, respectively. We compare their pros and cons by analyzing the fundamental sensing performance limits for target detection and parameter estimation. Next, we consider a single IRS to facilitate integrated sensing and communication(ISAC), in which the transmit signals at the BS are used for achieving both S&C functionalities, aided by the IRS through reflective beamforming. We present joint transmit signal and receiver processing designs for realizing efficient ISAC, and jointly optimize the transmit beamforming at the BS and reflective beamforming at the IRS to balance the fundamental performance tradeoff between S&C. Furthermore, we discuss multi-IRS networked ISAC, by particularly focusing on multi-IRS-enabled multi-link ISAC, multi-region ISAC, and ISAC signal routing, respectively. Finally, we highlight various promising research topics in this area to motivate future work.

3D hand pose and shape estimation from monocular RGB via efficient 2D cues

Estimating 3D hand shape from a single-view RGB image is important for many ***,the diversity of hand shapes and postures,depth ambiguity,and occlusion may result in pose errors and noisy hand *** full use of 2D cues such as 2D pose can effectively improve the quality of 3D human hand shape *** this paper,we use 2D joint heatmaps to obtain spatial details for robust pose *** also introduce a depth-independent 2D mesh to avoid depth ambiguity in mesh regression for efficient hand-image *** method has four cascaded stages:2D cue extraction,pose feature encoding,initial reconstruction,and reconstruction ***,we first encode the image to determine semantic features during 2D cue extraction;this is also used to predict hand joints and for ***,during the pose feature encoding stage,we use a hand joints encoder to learn spatial information from the joint ***,a coarse 3D hand mesh and 2D mesh are obtained in the initial reconstruction step;a mesh squeeze-and-excitation block is used to fuse different hand features to enhance perception of 3D hand ***,a global mesh refinement stage learns non-local relations between vertices of the hand mesh from the predicted 2D mesh,to predict an offset hand mesh to fine-tune the reconstruction *** and qualitative results on the FreiHAND benchmark dataset demonstrate that our approach achieves state-of-the-art performance.

Breaking the efficiency limitations of dissipative Kerr solitons using nonlinear couplers

Dissipative Kerr solitons(DKS) have long been suffering from poor power conversion efficiency when driven by continuous-wave lasers. By deriving the critical coupling condition of a multimode nonlinear optics system in a generalized theoretical framework,two efficiency limitations of the conventional pump method of DKS are revealed: the effective coupling rate is too small and is also power-dependent. A general approach is provided to resolve this challenge by introducing two types of nonlinear couplers to couple the soliton cavity and CW input through nonlinear processes. The collective coupler opens multiple coupling channels and the self-adaptive coupler builds a power-independent effective external coupling rate to the DKS for approaching the generalized critical coupling condition, which promises near-unity power conversion efficiencies. For instance, a conversion efficiency exceeding 90% is predicted for aluminum nitride microrings with a nonlinear coupler utilizing second-harmonic generation. The mechanism applies to various nonlinear processes, including Raman and Brillouin scattering, and thus paves the way for micro-solitons toward practical applications.

The primary objective in aircraft transportation is to minimize turbulent drag, thereby conserving energy and reducing emissions. We propose a sector-shaped counter-flow dielectric barrier discharge plasma actuator, which leverages jet synthesis for drag reduction. A drag control experiment was conducted in a low-speed wind tunnel with a controlled flow velocity of 9.6 m/s(Re = 1.445 × 10^(4)). This study investigated the effects of varying pulse frequencies and actuation voltages on the turbulent boundary layer. Using a hot-wire measurement system, we analyzed the pulsating and time-averaged velocity distributions within the boundary layer to evaluate the streamwise turbulent drag reduction. The results show that the local TDR decreases as the pulse frequency increases, reaching a maximum reduction of approximately 20.97% at a pulse frequency of 50 Hz. In addition, as the actuation voltage increases, the friction coefficient decreases, increasing the drag reduction rate. The maximum drag reduction of approximately 33.34% is achieved at an actuation voltage of 10 kV.
